  1. Our Sunrise cruise for February has been removed from our planner too.  Can not access it.  I did receive an email on July 23 and here is the line stating why. I assume all new information will be available after August 23.

We ask for your patience as there may be a time between now and August 23, 2020, where neither our team nor our travel         agency partners will have access to your reservation as we process this change.

Thanks! I didn’t know if you were self-carry if they still called you by deck

or not. Hoping to debark as quickly as you guys!! Were you guys on the Horizon?

Yes we did self carry and yes we were on Horizon.

They did say they were going to call by deck and that started right when we entered lobby. It sounded like they started with deck 1.  I think that was around 7:40 am.  We did not wait for the announcement,  and just headed down.  We were definitely not the only ones that disregarded the deck announcements.

  3. Depending on what ship you are sailing on, if it has a library bar, there is a very good selection in the self dispensing wine bar.  Horizon had several choices including Caymus which is my favorite.  Nice pours are $14.95, a smaller sample was available for . $6.95, and I believe the larger pour was $16-17.

  4. We just disembarked yesterday, it is a very quick process.  The most efficient so far.   Alarm set for 6:30Am, had a quick breakfast, and headed back to our cabin for one last walk through.  We headed to the elevators with all our bags ( self assist ) around 7:30 AM.  We did not wait until they started calling decks.  There was about a 5 minute wait for an elevator on deck 11.  Once on elevator, it went non stop to deck 3.  Very stream lined process with employees directing you through cattle chutes  off the ship and through the cruise terminal.  There is no need for passport or customs form, there is face recognition scanners in the port instead. This made things go very smoothly.  We were off the ship and curbside by 8:15.  In a taxi and on our way to Miami airport.  Quick TSA security at airport too, no lines at all.  Sitting down with coffee by 9:00 am.  We had a 12:02 flight and we had plenty of time.  We actually tried to change our flight to the 10:20 while waiting. (no luck though)

  5. Ft. Lauderdale port is a quick taxi or Uber ride to the airport.  Taxis readily available when you debark.  12pm flight should be just fine.  We have done 9:40 - 11 am flights several times and had no issues at all.  We do self debarkation and usually are in line to get off ship by 7am., so that we are first off once the ship is cleared.

  6. Anyone have any recent experience using Carnival's Fly2Fun when booking airfare directly through Carnival?

I have been researching here and nothing new.

I am nervous about our upcoming cruise on the Horizon Feb.2 2020.  It is Super Bowl Sunday and flights are very difficult to find, either all booked up or outrageously overpriced.  So, I decided to call Carnival and see what they had available.  They found us a flight at a reasonable price, but its arriving the day of the cruise!  We prefer to fly in the day before.  My husband is so low key about this, and never worries.  He said it will all work out.  But, I can't stop searching for other options.

Anyone who has used Fly2Fun can you give me your experiences - good or bad?

I always call and take care of it over the phone. I don't have a pvp so whoever answers deals with it. I tell them the exact price I found and they verify and match it instantly and then i pay them whatever additional deposit is due and they email me a reciept.

Me too, I never submitted a request.  Immediate adjustment when you call Carnival directly.   And any rep that answers the phone has been able to help with the price adjustment and they email you the confirmation while you are still on the phone.  Never had any issues.  Check rates daily.

  8. Carnival Breeze was our first experience with a Spa Balcony, and we absolutely loved it! Booked spa room again for our next cruise. Room decor is much softer and relaxing and the location is perfect. The spa experience was fantastic. We used the thermal suites and heated loungers every day, sometime twice a day. So quiet and relaxing. The T-pool was okay too, but we really preferred the various saunas and aromatherapy rooms. We usually visited the spa when the pool decks got super crowded and we just needed a break and quiet time.

Not sure if I would book spa room with kids though. Unless, you are willing to enjoy it while they are doing other activities.

  9. I don't think you will be disappointed on Carnival Breeze. We loved the Breeze and have sailed several ships on both Carnival and Royal. Including RCL mega ships and their smaller ships.

The Breeze has an awesome waterworks deck that the kids are going to love. The ropes course and sports court area is also a great time. Tons of venues for adults and children alike.

The Breeze has lots of spaces to get away from the crowds as well. Never felt crowded and the fellow passengers were not out of control!

Food on Carnival is very good, and lots of variety and options.

We really enjoyed our cruise on the Breeze, I would not hesitate to sail again on her.

  10. Just got off the Indy 1 week prior to your sailing. We had one of the most amazing cruises ever. We repeated that sentiment many times throughout our 5 days on the ship. (and I have many cruises under our belts, ranging from Interior to Star Class). Service was efficient, bar service was on par, and food quality was good. If we didn't like our MDR course, we ordered another or just visited the other food choices available throughout the ship. I didn't even notice the missing lights on the Promenade sign, guess those minor things just are not important to me.

I enjoy being at sea on a floating vessel....its vacation! Enjoy it, because it will soon be over. I feel, stopping to take pics of the minor inconsistencies is just making oneself miserable. Look away and find the positive.

I felt obligated to post a reply, because even though this ship is heading to drydock, it is an amazing ship. We truly enjoyed our time on her. We will definitely sail her again, and can't wait to see what changes are made.

  11. What time is your flight?

Just off Indy two weeks ago, Terminal 18.

We were in the self disembarkation line by 6:45am, and were released by 7:30am. Quick customs process, took a taxi, and arrived at FLL by 8:15am. We had a 10:15am flight. (small note: Security lines at FLL were very short a quick this time, possibly because it was a Thursday and only one ship at port, but we have had major delays before getting through airport security just to be aware.)

  12. I don't believe you saw the whole resort, Blue Kay is one of the largest beach clubs on the beach. We had loungers under palm trees with a clear view of the sea.

Part of Blue Kay now is a private beach, where only those staying in the beach club have access. It is roped off.

We were seated in the area when looking at the water, to the left of the roped off area. beside us was a large area without loungers or chairs, where you could lay down beach towels if you wanted. But, to the right of us, was the private area. (from what the sign said at least)

  13. Just curious... what was it about the surroundings that gave a bad first impression?

Stepping off the Malecon into the resort, there wasn't that "Awe" factor. Mitsugirly pics were so beautiful with lush palm trees, and vibrant colors, so I think I just had very high expectations. There was a very small rugged sign denoting Blue Kay. Little palms trees, probably due to recent hurricanes. And there were only (3) rows of loungers, approximately 24 total. So if you were not there first, you had a few of the back of someone else chair. They were tied down, so you cant move them either.

The water was beautiful though, so I just concentrated on that and all was good. The beach was amazing, soft and clean. and the service was great as well. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful, I just prefer more space will soaking up the sun.

  14. Hi CC members,

Just thought I would add a quick review of our day in Costa Maya and Blue Kay. Our ship was in port from 9am-7pm and there was one other ship docked that day. We simply walked through the port, past the outside port gates, walked approximately one block and found a taxi on the right had side of the road waiting to drive us to the beaches. The ride was $3pp.

We asked to be dropped off and Blue Kay. Total trip time was less than 10 minutes, I believe.

At first sight, I was a bit disappointed with my surroundings, but once we were all settled in, we really enjoyed our time there immensely. Good service, clean beach and calm, clear water.

Within 2 minutes of arriving a very polite worker came to us and asked if we wanted to stay and get a beach lounger. He stated it would be $15 pp. I mentioned that according to cruise critic and other travelers that the price seemed very high. He mentioned that the manager changed the rate in the past few weeks. The $15 included a wooden lounger with a mat, and (2) drinks from the bar. The drinks were any kind ( beer, margarita, mojito, your choice). We choose a beer and they were the larger "pounder" cans. So, I believe the $15 was justified. The waiter stopped by several times to check in.

Great day for a nice, relaxing beach day. Just a few vendors walking around, but a polite no kept them at bay.

  15. Cruising with a 4 and 5 year old. Blue Key seems nice. Are there beach vendors that accost you every 5 seconds for their merch? Basically does this seem like a pretty family friendly beach? Thank you!

Just visited Blue Kay last week, and yes there are several vendors walking around selling beads, jewelry, cigars, hats and massages. Nothing intrusive though, just a polite No and they moved on.

  16. Just off IOS, Formal night was Night 2, and there was a wide array of dress that evening. We dined in the MDR and most men were in long slacks and button down or polo, some had ties and jackets. But, we saw many in dress shorts and polos, even some in jeans. Woman like myself, wore a sun dress , others wore slacks and dressy tops. A few had evening gowns, yet some in shorts. No big deal on this cruise, at least from my perspective. Enjoy yourself in whatever you feel comfortable.

  17. This is off the subject of this thread, but can you let me know what days ( as in day 1, day 2 etc) and what times Grease is performed? We are doing the 5 night ( Saturday-Thursday) at Thanksgiving and that info would help with MTD and other dining scheduling. Sorry to hijack your thread.

Tuesday night for us, on our Western Caribbean 5-night sailing. (Cozumel)

  18. We just disembarked IOS Thursday Feb. 15th, Terminal 18. Ship docked a little later than expected, around 6:30am. We were in the self-assist line by 6:40 and near front of line. Ship was cleared for disembarkation around 7:15. Off quickly, and through customs by 7:30. Cab to FLL was fast, and the airport security line was very short - thinking because it was Thursday, and no other large ships in port. We were at gate by 8:15am. We had a 10:15am flight and had plenty of time for coffee and breakfast. No hiccups at all that day.

  19. When my children were younger we would do the routine bedtime ritual of bath, read books, and then tuck into bed. So, to keep that going smoothly while we were off cruising, I prepared ahead of time a daily diary of our trip. (drawings, pictures, stories, etc.) I put a letter for each day we were away in a sealed envelope and Grandma would pull one out at bedtime. She pretended it was mail from us each and every day.

At bedtime Grandma would open a letter and read to the children the tale of our daily "cruise adventure". The kids loved knowing what Mommy and Daddy were doing. It was something fun.

I didn't pull out the phone once.

  20. Never hurts to give C&A a call, and if you don't succeed, try again.

With the new promotion that started yesterday, my cruise for next month is showing $125 OBC which I did not have with previous sale, but I am passed final payment. I knew it was a long shot, but I called C&A and inquired about the OBC, and I was turned down by the first agent, stating I was passed final payment and that there was nothing they could do for me.

So today....I had to call RCL regarding my shore excursions (20% off sale) and while I was on the phone with the agent I mentioned the new OBC sale. This agent was very helpful, and looked into my reservation, repriced my cruise, which went up only $36, and put me on hold to speak to his supervisor. He came back on the line 2 minutes later granting my request for the OBC!! ***so the 20% I saved on the shore excursion, covered the $36 cruise fare increase, and I still managed to get $125 OBC...HAPPY:D

I am so glad I asked again....you just never know with RCL. Thanks to this thread, I decided to ask as many times as possible, and just may be you will get lucky.
