  1. I just redeemed points online this AM for our Feb.9th cruise. The website stated points can be submitted online up to 7 days prior to departure. If less than 7 days, please call the redemption site directly to redeem. (phone # given on website)

  2. I guess what I am referring to is when RCL wants to move people into higher category, so they can sell cheaper rooms. I have been called in the past and asked if I wanted to move to JS for a total of $200.00, not a p.p. charge. Just can't remember when this happened or if they still do it.

This just happened to us on our Enchantment cruise. We got a C&A email about 30 days prior to sail date asking us to call their direct line for an upgrade. I almost ignored the email, but When I called they offered us an upsell from Panoramic Ocean view to Balcony D1 for $80 total. We took it !

  3. Just got email from C&A to upgrade from our Panoramic Ocean View cabin on Deck 7 to a D2 balcony on the Enchantment for only $80 total. ($40pp)

We had the POV cabin last year and really enjoyed the floor to ceiling window with the view. But we really are balcony people. Love the privacy and sounds of the ocean at night from the balcony. The POV worked last year because the temps were not very warm in January and we didn't mind be inside but still enjoying the wide open view. This year we are sailing Feb.

BIG ? that's keeping me from jumping on this offer is the concern for noise: Is there a lot of noise in these balcony rooms? The only available D2's are AFT and FORWARD over the Theater or Lounge. ( 7638, 7654, 7656, 7148, 7150, 7152) We tend to be early riser 6-7 am, but bed early 10-11 pm.

Anyone have experience with these rooms?

Should we go for it? I don't want to miss my very first upgrade/upsell offer !

    Thanks all

  4. RCCL doesn't offer this excursion on the ship so we would have to go about it by taxi, their ferry etc. I look at your pictures and the place looks beautiful! It appears to be exactly what their website shows. Thanks for the heads up.

I too am sailing RCL, and was checking into excursion to Blue Lagoon. My research of RC excursions several months prior to sail date did not have Blue Lagoon as an option, which had me very bummed. Then....I checked after final payment at the excursions offered and To my delight Blue Lagoon Beach Day, Dolphin Encounter and SeaLion ecounters were all available to purchase through RCL. We are sailing 4day Enchantment in Feb. 2015.

  5. Sorry CC members, I have read many threads on the redemption process in the past, but I just can't seem to find the answers now when I need them.....

My cruise is Feb. 9, 2015, final payment is Dec. 11:

When should I redeem my points for OBC?

    Redeem online or call?

Has anyone received the promotional $75 OBC for spending $1500 in the first90 days of card activation?

    Thanks all !

  6. Are there some excursions that are held until the cruise? We sail in Feb. on Enchantment to the Bahamas. The Blue Lagoon excursions are not listed on the website. (only see Atlantis).

I just saw a review from someone just off ES in Oct with the excursion PDF posted and it still has BlueLagoon Beach Day, Dolphin Encounter and SeaLion Encounter.

Hope RC still offers this in Feb. ......we were looking forward to it. :)

  7. We traveled with a group of friends and family, including my in-laws and great grandfather. I held a cruise planning trip as well. It was time to go over travel details and itinerary. I also supplied a packing list and a "must have" list.

Even with all the planning, my greatGF still managed to cause excitement on the first day by forgetting his wallet in the cab at drop-off at the pier! It was utter chaos. I got my bearings after a bit of craziness and decided to contact a rep in the terminal . Surprise, the rep had the wallet!! The cab driver returned it to the pier :)

So, my suggestion is to stress the importance keeping all important documents and cash in a safe place, and check twice that you have everything before leaving hotel, cabs, buses, etc.

  8. Just received an email from RCL to plan and book excursions for our upcoming cruise in February on Enchantment. I noticed, The Cruise Planner did not have any trips to The Blue Lagoon for the Beach Day or SeaLion, Dolphin encounters. The only beach day passes were for Atlantis. Did RCL stop offering these excursions? or do they only put out a few trips at a time? I usually don't book excursion this far ahead of time, but my DH and I really want to do the Beach Day at Blue Lagoon. Any ideas?

  9. Oh no! We booked the POV on deck 7 for our December trip. Hope it's not too noisy since we have a toddler. Maybe I'll bring music for bedtime to hopefully cut out any commotion we hear.

No noise from above in the POV rooms on Deck 7. (only cabins above). We stayed in 7098 in January and the room was very quiet. Deck 8 gets the noise from the pool deck above, scrapping of deck chairs as the staff moves them early in the AM.

We did hear some music from the Centrum, but it did not go late into the night, usually over before midnight.

Loved the room and location so much, that we booked it again for next February !!

  10. We used our points for the companion fare as well as 10,000 points for (2) $50 OBC. I redeemed points for OBC 4 weeks prior to sailing. After about 1 week, I called RCCL directly and the Representative confirmed the credit was applied to the account. She sent me an updated account statement with my booking summary charges.

The OBC showed up halfway down the page below the booking charges in a separate section labeled OBC.

The C&A credits were applied as well, and were in the booking charges section as well as the companion fare credit.

We did not have to do anything else...very impressed with how easy it was. The credits were applied on final statement on debarkation day.

  11. Just off the Enchantment on the 4-night out of Canaveral. Loved it !! We have been on many Carnival Cruises, but really enjoyed the service on Royal.

This short trip is very relaxing. Great group of cruisers. Never felt crowded, except on Windjammer café on first day.

CocoCay was just beautiful. Got off ship walked around the entire island discovering hidden paths to beautiful private spots on the beach. There was a nature trail that offered amazing sights as well as views of the ship at anchor. There were lots of lounge chairs to hang out and enjoy a CocoLoco cocktail !! The BarB-Q was good too.

As for the atmosphere on the Enchantment...very laid back. No worries of dress code at all. We saw shorts, jeans and even caps in MDR. Formal night was more resort casual than any other ships I have been on. We did see a few who still dressed up for dinner and photos.

Really enjoyed the views and after dinner cocktails in the Viking Crown Lounge, quiet and relaxing.

I will continue to cruise Royal as well as Carnival, but this ship was perfect for a quick, relaxing get away in the middle of winter.

Hope you have a wonderful trip on whatever ship you choose.

  12. Just sailed Enchantment out of Port Canaveral and took 2 bottles in my carryon. No one ever asked what stateroom I was in. Not sure I would try it, but I can see both adults in one stateroom carrying on without question. Corkscrew and wine glass supplied by our cabin steward when we asked the first day. She also kept the Chardonay on ice.

  13. My husband and I just returned yesterday and we loved Cabin 7098 on the Enchantment. We always stay in a balcony, but didn't miss it.

Our room configuration was bed by the window and sofa and desk by the door. 7098 is the last room at the end of the center hallway. The window was not along the entire wall, but very large with no obstructions.

This room was the most spacious we have ever had. There was plenty of storage, 2 closets, one for hanging up clothes and the other with shelves. we didn't even use the one closet that had shelves. The desk had 3 very large drawers. There was plenty of space between the desk and closet as well as between the bed and sofa.

There was a refrigerator stocked with water and sodas. No alcoholic beverages.

Our room did not have a coffee table, which added to the feeling of wide open floor space. We commented several times how large this room felt.

The noise from the Centrum was not bad at all....We go to bed early and I am a light sleeper and I had no trouble falling asleep. The music ended by midnight according to the Compass...but I slept through it. Never heard our neighbors. No noise from below or above either.

The only negative to this room was the bathroom,: There was an awful odor when using the water in the sink. And, the shower curtain was dreadful !! I hated it. I just flooded the floor. The shower was so small.

This location was perfect: Close to stairways, pool decks, Solarium, Park Café and elevators.

I would definitely book this cabin again. Great alternative to a balcony room in January.

  14. We just got off the Enchantment yesterday. We were skeptical too, but were pleasantly surprise.... We loved this ship. :) We had the Panoramic OV room. The most spacious room ever. Great views from the large picture window. We always book a balcony stateroom, but didn't miss it on this short cruise. 4 days was also nice. Never felt rushed. CocoCay was beautiful and very relaxing. We did a self guided walking tour in Nassau. The Solarium and Park Café were really nice. Food and service great too. Spacious pool deck with lots of open deck chairs. Not much to complain about.

  15. On our family cruise my 80 year old Grandfather-in-law left his wallet on the back seat of the cab that dropped us off at the pier. It was a very hectic few minutes after we realized this. I was at a loss standing at the terminal with family in tow. He had his passport in his pocket, but credit cards, money, and ID were in the cab. Word of advice, ALWAYS get the cab # you are traveling in. When we called the cab company, we were told hundreds of cruisers forget things and there was no way to help us without the name of the cab driver or the number on the cab. Good news, I checked in with the Carnival representative at the terminal and she thankfully announced that the cab driver had noticed the wallet and brought it into the agent. Thank goodness he remembered the Ship he dropped us off at. Crisis avoided. :D

  16. Does anyone know if the Cloud 9 on the Dream works this way now? I was in a spa balcony on the Dream in 2010 and you had to stop and trade your S&S for a white card. I'll be in a spa room in a couple days and I'm hoping they've upgraded to this system for much easier access.

Guess I'll let you know in a week or so! Happy Cruising to all! :D

Just off the Breeze 2 weeks ago. We had to check in at the desk every day for a new wristband. The bands were a different color each day!! Once you had the wristband, you were given a keycard in replacement for your S&S card. It was not much of a hassle at all, very quick process.

We loved the spa tremendously...used it every single day. (twice one cloudy sea day). :)

  17. I read in another post that if you book a spa cabin that yoga and tai chi classes are part of your amenities. Can someone confirm whether this is the case?

When you are booked in a spa cabin, you will receive 2 complimentary classes...yoga and pilates were offered on the Breeze cruise in January. Unfortunately, the times for these classes were very inconvienient. 5:30 on port days....very disappointing. So, I was unable to take advantage of this offer. (we had 6pm MDR).

  18. Absolutely the Breeze hands down !! Just returned from the Breeze yesterday and we are booking again, this time with our children. There was so much to do for both the children and the adults. The Sports Square, Splash Zone and Water Works were awesome, and there was enough seating for the parents to relax in the sun or shade while still keeping a close eye on their children having a blast !! Liberty was a very nice ship, but we are not big fans of the stadium style seating on the Lido decks....lots more steps for children to slip and fall.

Definetly itinerary plays a big part in the decision when traveling with younger children...keep that in mind. Good Luck with your decision.:)

  19. Anyone notice on the Breeze, was there a place that sold energy drinks and shakes? (similar to ones at a gym...). One prior cruise we found one of the Lido bars that made them, in the AM only. Loved it !! But, never found a ship that had this after that one :(.

Also, if so, wondering if it would be covered under the drink package??

  20. Thanks for the wonderful review and awesome pics.:)

We are booked in a spa balcony on the Breeze in January and have been looking for some information, your review came at the perfect time. Now I am really excited !!! Our cruise has 3 sea days, so I believe we will have a lot of time to explore these wonderful spaces.:)

    Thanks again.

Question: our cabin is closer to the front elevators rather than the private staircase (cabin 11244)...are we able to access the private areas from there as well?
