And that has dropped from $8.9 billion in 9 months, or about $200k/month.  That's about 3 years of cash, provided fuel costs (and they don't control these with futures contracts) don't drive them to spend much faster.  Revenues have been dropping the last few months, so the cash flow out will increase.  Those 90 ships are valued at $38 billion, with a long term debt against them of $28 billion.  That $7 billion in cash is balanced against current liabilities of $12.9 billion.  So, of that $8.4 billion in shareholder equity that ledges1 posted, all of that is from the equity in the ships.  Don't kid yourself that Carnival is in a good place.

    And that's Billion with a "B"

I’ve gone onto both celebrity and royal sites and am confused at what they are using as a “fully vaccinated” guideline.  I see the language about “no less than 14 days” for last shot.  I don’t see where they are stating a number of days/date that your last shot could be from to be “compliant”?

    any guidance is appreciated.

    thanks!

Just sailed on the Harmony. Never even asked to see the vaccination card. Only filled out the form on the web site.

We will be going from Fort Lauderdale I think I will just ask the steward as I have found from most cruises the water in the buffet is never quite hot enough.

They do not want people to get scalded. Caution on their part. Remember McDonalds lawsuit?

I put the water in the cup and let it sit for a min or two. That gets the cup nice and hot and then refill.

This way the cup does not cool down the water. Good waiters do the very same thing.

Based on my consumption, I buy the Soda package and don't need a drinks package.  The casino host will offer me a drink, but I'll stick with Coke -- with a cherry or slice of lime perhaps!

I think (if you are eligible) the Platinum/Elite event every evening has reduced price drink specials, but I never go -- I don't need the appetizers, I'll just grab something from the buffet or Int'l Cafe if I want food.

The Captain's Welcome might also have special drink prices, but that too is something I don't bother with.

Same here. However with the soda package you can always purchase a shot for it.

Howdy all.  After 40 some cruises on RCCL and Celebrity, we decided to give this a try.  Sounds like fun, but I am surprised at the lack of communication from the cruise line.  Anyway, can someone give me the rundown on embarking.  Paperwork says check-in starts at 10:30 but boarding begins at 1PM.  If you're there early do you just hang around?  Is it best to get there closer to 1?  Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

More fun on a weekend cruise. During the week not many on board and some things get cancelled if not enough Participants. Boarding can start as early as 11:00am depending if the ship is ready.

    FTI Parking is $44.00

Does Carnival Cruise Line still give United States and Canadian retired and serving military the Military OBC?  Reason I ask is the bean counters have stopped giving it to such people on the Australian based Carnival ships.   Still giving it on Princess in Australia, I am recently off Coral Princess and got it.

Never Carnival. Princess gives both WStock and Military OBC same amount for both.

We just boarded the Liberty (evacuating from Ian) and were confronted by a very angry, very rude steward when we tried to drop off our luggage in the closet prior to 1:30.  Is that no longer allowed?

80+ cruises and never had a problem on any ship or any cruise line. If I see a room steward I always ask first if he will be ours. I have opend up those very heavy water tight doors. Went to the cabin and dropped off the luggage then just left. Never were we ever told we cound not do that.

I have the Cheers package and on my last cruise (Bermuda) my wife and I loved trying all kinds of new drinks . I'm normally a beer guy and not much for straight liquor but when cruising it feels more like vacation to stick to mixed drinks. We also have fun making sure we drink enough throughout the day to make the Cheers package worth it. Can't wait to sit at the Havana bar and try different ones out.

So far my favorite was a Rum based drink that i cant remember the name of but I think was similar to the Zombie Cocktail. Suggestions for what else I should try?

Any FREE one. However I like LI Ice tea Wife likes Cruiser.

Heading out in 2 weeks on the Glory and this time we are wanting to pack 2 12 packs of diet drinks to enjoy on our balcony.  As i understand it they must be part of your carry on.   Don't want to just lug 2 12 packs around for a few hours.  So i was wondering if any other cruisers have found a good way for this.  Carry on suitcase,  or backpack or what has worked for you?   Obviously they are for my wife and i,  but i will be carrying them.

We have NEVER had a problem dropping off the luggage in our room when we board. Just put it in the room and leave. If you see the steward just ask. Never refused.

So, we have a free Cheers/Bottomless Bubbles offer and since Galveston cruises seem to only go on sale once a year, we are looking at cruising out of Orlando.  We've been on the Liberty before when it was in Galveston with no issue, but keep seeing threads and posts (elsewhere) about the sewage smell on the lower decks.  Is this a prevalent issue or just occasional?   Anyone whose dealt with it, have you ever gotten an explanation and or compensation for dealing with it?

The best deals seem to all be on the Liberty, but we are hesitant to book because of the recent smell issues.

Two months ago we were on the lowest deck mid ship. No smell at all.

I think I know the answer, but I am going to ask anyway. : ) We booked a cruise for early 2023 a few weeks ago but I just today bought over 100 shares of CCL. Can I still get shareholder credit applied to this cruise or would it only apply to cruises booked after I bought the stock?

You WILL receive the OBC on any cruise you book after you purchased the stock.

Are the ships back to having the slot tournaments, or still giving you $25?  I will be on Freedom Oct 20.

If they really are that good, why would they not try to make them the same across the fleet?  It isn’t rocket science; it is a sandwich.

Think about what you get on different ships. The same item is different on most all ships. One soup will not taste the same on every ship. Even hotdogs are different from ship to ship. So are french frys.

My flight back home is in the late afternoon, and I don't want to be stuck at the airport for hours. Since I will either be shuttling or ubering to the airport, I don't have the option to explore the area outside of the port or the airport. (debarking at Port Canaveral and flying out of Orlando Airport, which are an hour drive apart)

So I would prefer to have a leisurely morning and get off the ship as LATE as possible, which I heard is around 10 am. However, I read that when you leave your luggage out for standard debarking (rather than self-carry), you're given a group number, which is assigned to a specific debarking time.

If I'm assigned to an earlier time for debarkation, can I just ignore it and get off the ship with the last group? If so, would they announce which group is the last debarking group? Will my luggages be safe if I don't debark during my assigned time?

....or would renting a car be a better option overall?

    Simple answer is yes.

If you have ever had a good Beef on Weck in Buffalo, or elsewhere, you would be very disappointed with the one they were serving on Grandeur during our August cruise.

Their version of the Park Cafe was in the Solarium, which seemed like a poor location…but it is a small ship so they only have so much room…

Yes in Buffalo where they smothered it in gravy. Yum for sure. Tender beef and the roll is what makes it for sure.

can you order the sandwich without horseradish? (I can't stand it)

Yes. You can order it with whatever you would like it or nothing at all. However you really must put on whatever gravy etc. they have for it. Make sure you have them cut the meat super thin.

I have sailed in October a few times but never over the actual holiday. Share what fun things have happened for your previous Halloween cruises. Any can’t miss events?

We do Halloween on Carnival every year. Would not miss it. The only holiday the cruise line really does up right. Lots of fun and so many fantastic costumes. Many of the crew also dress up. it is a fun day for sure.

Very few times since the cruise ship captains do a great job taking care of the passengers but of course, it's a ship at sea and weather happens.

I was career Navy and to be weirdly honest I actually enjoy rougher weather at sea.  I sleep like a baby.  🙂

    Same here. 😎
