  1. I am going to print this and frame this... :)

To be compared to my Uncle Gene, Radio and Trainman...who were/are all fantastic storytellers, is quite an honor. I am humbled. :o

    Better yet, you're a WOMAN. ;)

I still think you are the Janet Evanovich of Cruise Critic. I am thoroughly enjoying your adventure. Thanks so much for reviewing your cruise. I am a big fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Gwen :)

PS: Can I have your autograph?

  2. Hope you guys have a wonderful cruise!!

If you hear any news about any further repairs we would love to hear about it if you have time to post from the ship. We are boarding when you get back.

Wishing you blue skies and calm seas!

Thanks. I'm sure somebody will post. I will try if I can. Depends on how slow internet is.

  3. I just got back from the Captain’s Corner. I asked the captain if there is an estimate as to when the engine would be repaired. He explained there are four engines turning generators which create the electricity that the ship runs on. Those four engines are working fine. However, the port side propulsion engine is only able to develop 70% of its maximum torque. As a result the ship cannot reach full speed. Thus, when traveling as fast as it can (right now) some people will see a difference is the size of the wake from each propeller. There is an estimate as to when the repairs will be made, but it is not official yet, so he would not tell what the estimate is. I also asked the hotel director if someone misses the ship, would they go into the safe to get the passport. He said no, there is too much liability if they did that.

Thanks for the report. This is just my opinion, but I think they are planning to do the repairs while we are in PC. Thus, the 24+ hrs. at that port. I guess we will find out after it is fixed. I am sure someone will let everyone know if it is fixed while we are on board.

  4. Thanks for keeping us so well informed and the pictures are absolutely beautiful.

I too, am sorry your cruise is ending. But, all good things come to an end. And besides that, I will be boarding after you get off. A little selfish, I guess. ;)

We are all anxious for our upcoming cruise since they just altered the itinerary and didn't drop any ports. Can't wait for the sunset at Key West.

Thanks again. Really enjoyed your reports and pics.

  5.

That could be a problem. The ship's Internet stinks! I could not remotely connect at all yesterday or this morning. Last night I tried the ship's computers and got nowhere after two minutes on each. Tried to remotely connect this morning (I get an excellent signal from my balcony since it is just above one of the hot spots) and that didn't work. But this time, after a little effort and a few swear words said under my breath (there is someone sitting next to me) I finally got on.

In case you don't know, I cannot post pictures from the ship's computers. But I'll keep checking, or if I run into an Internet Cafe (or Internet Bar). That is how I posted yesterday and upload a few pictures (I actually have a few more ready to upload).

Don't put yourself out. You are on vacation, so enjoy! We appreciate all you are doing in keeping us informed. I hope you can post some more of your fantastic pics when you return home. I will just have to wait, since we board the Enchantment when you get back. Just enjoy yourself and thanks again for all you've done so far. ;)

    Cruizer2,

Wow, what an unusual depth of field you were able to achieve in this first, front-facing image of the Enchantment (just compare her seemingly short, blunt "snout" to her more accurate long, elegant bow in the second, side-ways view.) Do you have interchangeable lenses for your camera? I have also noticed other creative, interesting perspectives in some of the earlier pictures you have posted. You must either have very good equipment or a really good eye!

Looks like two completely different ships. Great pictures. Keep them coming.

    Gwen :)

  7. Thanks for the report and beautiful pictures Cuizer2. At least we are getting some info about the ship. I appreciate you taking the time to speak to someone about the problem. We will board the day you return. Really looking forward to it. I just hope they don't have to cancel any of our ports, but it doesn't look too good according to what you reported. I would much rather have the port of Key West instead of an OBC.

    Thanks again and happy sailing!

    Gwen :)

  8. That was a great video! Are you sure you don't work for RCCL? I am sure they would be glad to have you for their promotions department. I loved the music and couldn't get over how with over 6000 passengers, it looked like you were the only one on the ship most of the time. How did you do that?

I am looking forward to you next "live report" next month. Thanks for all you do.

    Gwen :)
