  1. I hope the same Pharmacist will own it. But I think she was thinking about moving back to the US, because so many things are changing in Belize and her kids are in College now in the US

Oh no!!!!!! I love being able to go to the pharmacy in Belize....

  2. We booked a family suite with 6 people, the UBP for the 2 adults and the soda pkg for the 4 kids, UDP for everyone and a $300 OBC for our cruise in Dec and it came to less than $3500....When you figure out how much the perks are each, we didnt pay hardly anything for the cruise ;)

  3. I live in Tx as well and have never sailed out of Houston because you get one less port and it costs more than sailing out of NOL....I would have thought that with one less port the port fees would be less there for cost less....thats what I get for thinking...lol....We will continue to sail out of NOL..:)

  4. I don't know how this is going to play out, but my first thought is that in most families, one person is a bigger eater than the other...it used to be that both had to pay the cover to eat there....now, if only one is hungry, they can order and it may be a little more than before, but the other person that isn't as hungry can order just an app and be perfectly happy....that means that they have lost out on the full cover for the second person...no gain there for NCL...

What a lot of people don't get is that it may not be all about the money, its about the way NCL handled things...they should have started with new bookings, not forcing people that had already booked to either pay up now or pay more later....and the way they introduced the RSC...shame on you NCL...not telling anyone about it and people had to find out with small print in the daily after they were already on board...If someone didn't read the daily and not check their account because they were told that RS was included except during certain hours or for pizza and then at the end of the cruise got a huge bill for RS...wow, I would be very upset....

As for the DSC, I wonder how long its going to be discretionary...you know that if too many people go to the service desk and have it reduced or taken off they will stop that in a flash.....

  5. All I can say is WOW....My DD and I will be platinum after this last cruise on NCL....notice I said last cruise...because sadly, we will be trying different lines after all of the changes that NCL has been doing...its not necessarily the cost of the changes, its just the CRAPPY way they have handled them...with the RSC, no one had a clue until they boarded and saw it in small print on the daily...low blow NCL...I no longer can trust NCL to give me the things I contracted for when I booked my cruise....I work in the service industry as well and if my company did 1/2 the things that NCL has done in the last few months, we would go broke...I work in the executive offices of my company and we handle the BIG complaints...none of the complaints have had a basis like these...most companies have things grandfathered in for people that have already signed a contract, not just indiscriminately change the rules after the fact....Shame on you NCL..I am no longer a cheerleadr for you...

  6. this is from the post from the TA ...

"Whether guests wish to have a light meal of a favorite appetizer and soup or salad, or indulge in a multi-course dinner featuring Maine lobster, with Norwegian’s new à la carte options, guests will now have the opportunity to create their desired dining experience, just as they would at any land-based restaurant."

If I wanted it to be like a land-based vacation, I would take a land-based vacation....This is absurd...we are not taking a land-based vacation, we are taking a cruise...My DD and I will be platinum after this cruise and we are more than likely going to try a different line...too many changes to fast...I cant understand why they are making all of these changes at one time...all they are doing is driving loyal people to other lines...:(...I don't want to leave Norwegian, but I don't know how many more changes they are going to make for the worse and Im not going to sit around and wait to see...Im just glad my next cruise is in Dec before it goes fleet wide...

    Mr Sheehan, where are you???

  7. Are you sure the price was pp? A couple of years ago when they called us, it was just an upgrade fee for the cabin, and not pp, but then again, that was 2 days before we sailed...maybe that had something to do with it. Those prices sound pretty high to me, doesn't sound like they really want to sell them at that price...lol... :)

  8. my family booked just about 1 yr out....we got in on the UDP,UBP and $300 OBC....and the KSF program....my dd and family total of 5 in a suite got it for $2800...cant beat that with a stick...my other dd and I got our cabin for the 2 of us for $2400...so, for 2 suites and and all of the perks for 7 of us, it only cost us $5200....I don't know were you can get a week with all the food (pay restaurants) and all you care to drink alcohol for the adults and soda for the kiddos for that price...but, they got the last sleeps 6 SJ and all of the SJs sold out within a couple of weeks, so I cant compare the prices any more either...But, Im happy....I have been checking for next year and the prices have gone sky high...sigh...guess we will be checking out other lines as well...too bad, I love NCL suite life...:(

  9. We always go to there when we cruise....and yes, the same lady owns all of the pharmacies in the port area....I was having horrible pain from arthritis in my knee...couldn't sleep or walk very far...she sold me some meds and I took one...that night, I had no pain at all and the next day in Roatan I was able to walk for a long time on our tour....it was the most pain free I had been in years...when I got home, I had the pharmacist at home look at the meds and they said that yes, those are what you would get for arthritis...everything we have gotten from her have been good and we have bought from her for about 3yrs :)

  10. My DD and I have done this on 2 times....it is incredible...I agree with everything that dlinr said about it but when we got back to Caye Caulker, we rented a golf cart and got to go all over the island....we didn't do the lunch option, we bought kabobs from a guy on the beach that was grilling chicken, lobster, or caunch(sp?) and it was soooooo good....:)

  11. for the specialty dining, there are monitors all over the ship that show how busy the different restaurants are and you can tell if there will be a wait or not...most of the time for the specialty ones, you can walk right up...I don't know how it is since they were giving the UDP as a perk, it may be a lot busier...just check out the monitors to judge where you want to eat...I have been on Carnival one time and I do have to admit that the buffet on NCL is a lot better with a lot more choices.

  12. I checked with one of the companies that we had used in Belize and they said at this time they didn't have any excursions planned for Harvest Caye...I also called NCL and asked the excursion desk about them being gone...he said to wait 30 days and they should be back plus a few more...he said it is supposed to open on schedule but also told me that there are no tenders aval to get to the mainland...sooooooo....looks like its going to be more like the private island in the eastern.....but you know how it goes, its on a need to know basis like all of the other changes made lately and NCL doesn't think we need to know...lol...

  13. I called NCL excursions desk today and asked about all of them being gone....he said that it is still going to be open on time and to give it 30 days and they should all be back in place plus a few more....but then again, he said that there will not be tenders to the mainland like I had read earlier...sooooooo...you know how it goes...its on a need to know basis and I guess they figure we don't need to know....lol......I keep checking the ports of call board and it seems that nothing is new there either...I did notice that one of the excursions that used to be listed on NCL.com had a customer review on it already....I don't know how they could have reviewed it since its not even open yet, but....just saying....

  14. I love porting at Punta Langosta so you don't have to take a taxi to get to down town...we ported at the international dock when we took Carnival, but its soooooooo much better at the other..I think I would rather tender into Punta Langosta than dock at the international dock..:)

  15. Something else that no one else has mentioned.....depending on the ports you are going to, I would not wear them off the ship in 3rd world countries....most of the Western Caribbean, it would not be a good idea to "flash" around diamonds that large...in fact, a lot of the cities in the US could be a problem too, but places that have nothing, not a good place to wear expensive jewelry of any kind....I leave mine at home or if I have to take them along, leave them in the safe when leaving the ship...just saying...:)
