  1. If I remember correctly, it was around $18 for the golf cart and yes, there was enough time....the beach there isnt great, so we didnt swim. On the main street, there are all the little shops and they are within walking distance of where you dock. I just cant walk long distances, so we rented the cart...they came and picked us up at the dock, I think you had the cafe there call them, but I cant remember (old timers disease)...I just remember that it was really cool to be able to see the whole island. We enjoyed it so much that we are doing it again this cruise in Jan.

here is the itinerary for the Coral Breeze excursion:

And, yes, you can stand on the sand bar...it may be a little deep for you daughter to stand there though, I think it was about 4-4.5' deep

  2. I completely understand that is why I asked the question. I figured maybe others have some good suggestions. I just can't see how this would work and how the three of them would keep track of what each person spent  Plus they would always have to be together in order to purchase something.

They wouldnt have to be together to purchase, the key card just go to what ever account is set up...if there is only one account, it goes to that account...anyone with a key card the is tied to that account can charge, they dont have to have the primary there to use it...the onboard account showes all the purchases and you can check it any time either on the TV on some of the ships or at the service desk

  3. My dd and cousins split the cost exactly. I think that only one person can have the OBC on there account which would be the person who has the cabin in there name.

Ok thank you for the info....I think I may ask the pre concierge before we sail as well and see if they can take care of it too...I have just never sailed with anyone in the cabin that want family before...

  4. If you are talking about the Daily Service Charge, then no, you cannot utilize any NCL OBC for that. Are the three of them setting up individual accounts with a separate credit card for each? If not, the charges for all three of them will go against the room and the OBC and credit card associated with the room. You choose at check in how each persons charges are handled.

Im going to have a friend of mine staying in the cabin with DD and me. She will be setting up her own account, and said that because she is getting her part of the cabin price cheaper that my DD and I get the whole OBC. Can you set it up so all of the OBC goes to only one account in the same cabin? My DD and I will be on the same CC for our account.

  5. I think the question was answered above, but... curious why you would travel with such a low limit card? We travel with two cards each, just in case we need to deal medical issues, get hotel rooms, book a flight or rental car, etc.

    Just curious.

I take 2 cards...one that has a larger limit for emergencies and the low limit one that I take to port with me so if I need to use a cc for something, and someone gets my card numbers or something, they can’t do a lot of damage...:)

  6. If you try to apply the AARP discount to a reservation, will NCL require you to re-book the cruise, or can it just be added?

I think it may be glitch on the web site....if you just go ahead and click on the AARP button, it will put the lower price in...I noticed that it almost always says the AARP price is alot higher than the NCL price, but when you actually click the radio button for AARP amd then look at the prices, it is actually about 5% lower...sometimes its 10% less, but its always at least 5% less.

If you go to NCL site and click on "Specials" tab, it tells you about the AARP promos.

  7. I am pretty sure they do. The spinach/artichoke dip lives up to its reputation and so do the fish and chips. A great place for a quick snack or a meal if one doesn't want to bother with the MDR or the buffet.

Thank you so much...My DD will be very happy...lol

  8. We made plans to arrive in Miami the day before our cruise in Dec. from Dallas. Well, I knew there was going to be a winter storm the day before so had my dd drop us off at the airport that night for the flight in the morning...well, we got 7" of pure ice and they didnt cancel our flight until late afternoon the day we were supposed to fly out at 7:00am....We couldnt rebook until they actually canceled the flight...we managed to ge a flight the next morng from Austin which was day of the cruise...the only one we could get was not going to Miami, it was going to Ft Lauderdale...we had no shuttle booked or anyting. It took almost 8hrs to drive what normally took about 3hrs. We go to Ft Ladurdale at almost 2pm...we managed to get the last shuttle from NCL to the port and got borded about 15 min before the Muster Drill....too much stress for me...

  9. I've already taken the cruise, so I can't just "go for it".

I want to understand whether the promotional material on board was highly misleading, or it you really do have to spend $100 on board to get it back.

I don't care what it shows on the lines of your folio.

Simple question: Did you or did you not spend more than $100 onboard on those cruises, aside from the DSC and Future Cruise Credit?

The thing is, the $250 is an onboard expense, therefore, the $100 comes off that like any other onboard expense....the DSC is not able to be paid with this or any other OBC that you may have gotten from NCL. So, if you prepaid your DSC and all you spent on the ship was the $250 for the FCC, it would show a charge of $250 and then the $100 in OBC that you recieved for buying it would be taken off making it a net money owed of $150. I hope that explains it for you. We do it every year.

  10. Thank you so much for the reply.

I do not live on Roatan (it is one of my fav places as well) but I have been visiting for up to three months for the past 14 years. The flight connections from here to there are far to much of a challenge this time of year and I thought why not cruise and snorkel many other places just to see if Roatan is the best of the best.

I don't think it matters so much where I board the ship.. I can fly to that spot yes?

    Big ship being? which ones?

Cruising Golfer ~ I have been answering questions about Roatan. The hold up is my motion sickness and my usual need for more time to explore a place.

Normally, the bigger the ship the less movement...if you are going solo, the Epic, Breakaway and Getaway all have very nice solo cabins...you would also do well to get a midship cabin if movement bothers you...

as for ports, I also like Belize for snorkeling, but if you have done the reef in Roatan, Im pretty sure that Belize is about the same....Like I tell everyone, I want to run away and be a beach bum on Roatan....It is sooooo beautiful and the majority of the people are great....:)

  11. Our cruise out of Miami last Dec...we made our reservations for the day before, had a great hotel reserved...flying out of Dallas, what could go wrong???? Only 7" of ice the night before...They didn’t cancel our flight until after 1pm so we had to scramble to get a flight out of Austin the next morning but it wasn’t going to Miami, it was going to Ft Lauderdale...we had no transportation set up for Ft Lauderdale to Miami. We had to run from one plane to the other in Atlanta and got to Ft Lauderdale at about 1:30 pm on sail day.....we just managed to get a shuttle from the NCL booth at the airport and got there just in time...we got boarded 15 min before the muster drill...I never want to cut it that close again and that was with flight the day before...way stressful.

  12. We cruised the first week of Dec out of NOL and got into the middle of what they call the "Santa Run"....everyone was dressed in santa costumes...lets just say that quite a few of them left nothing to the imagination...some of them had the rear cut out and they were bare to the world...the "ladies" had very low cut and short santa dresses on.....you could hardly walk down the street with the crowd of Santas...one guy came up to my DD and got right in her face and said HO HO HO....she looked at him and said "yes, there are a lot of them around here"...lol....

  13. are you wanting a park and sail package? We have stayed at the NO Super 8....the area isnt all that great, but its secure and had no problems...the price is really good...like $68 for the room and parking for the week..the lot is fenced, so your car should be fine...you have to take a taxi to the port and it was only like $15 for the 2 of us...This year my DD wanted to try something different, so we are staying at the Holiday Inn tower with a park and sail package...it is $129 for 2 adults and 1 child...it includs parking for the week as well plus breakfast for 2 people....the taxi ride is only about $5 from what Ive been told....it is about the same to the French Quarter as well from there its the Holiday Inn West Bank.

  14. I would have called the health department. A true service dog would never be sitting in a shopping cart. Nor would they be sitting at a table at a restaurant or on a table in a restaurant or being feed from a table at a restaurant, etc.

It seems that everyone is so worried about being politically correct that we have turned into a nation that is afraid to say anything for fear of offending someone....being politically correct has never been one of my strong suits...lol...thats why I said something to her in the first place...she acted like no one had ever questioned her about it before...I really think people need to learn to speak up if something bothers them...

  15. I did and they said there was nothing they could do if the lady says its a service dog, they cant do anything....I did however point out to the manager that people dont want their food were a dogs butt has been sitting...lol....if they cant make them take them out of the store, they can at least tell them they cant put them in the shopping carts...just saying...
