  1. Does anyone know the cost of doing laundry on the ship? Is it by the piece or bag? If I'm in the Yacht club does that make a difference?

There are two laundry packages available that allow you to have up to 20 pieces washed:

    - Regular Laundry Package - $25 (items are collected before 10am and returned before 5pm the next day)

-Express Laundry Pacakge - $40 (items are collected before 9am and returned before 5pm the same day)

Same pricing for Yacht Club members

  2. How can I do a web check in if I can not get the web check in to open using the booking number given me on my e-mail confirmation?????

I have experienced this once as well. In my case, I entered my booking number, first and last name, and the date of my sailing. I immediately received an error message stating that I had entered an incorrect booking number. After a call to my PVC, I needed to add my middle name to my first name because that is how I am entered into MSC's system. In your case,,I would call MSC and they will be able to rectify your login issue.

  3. Do we have to call to pre-book for our boarding passes? Last cruise with MSC (booked through a TA) and if I remember correctly I did it on line. Has something changed or am I remembering incorrectly?

You will have to complete your web check-in on-line, but you should receive your boarding passes as well as luggage tags about 30 days prior to sailing. If not,,call your PVC (Personal Vacation Consultant), and have them e-mail your docs to you.

  4. We booked by phone through MSC directly.

I do as well and have to call MSC directly each time I have a question regarding my booking. I booked one sailing via the website and was able to access that booking on their website. Our 4-11-2015 sailing was booked via our PVC and I have no on-line access to that booking. I had to call to get our final payment due date,,which btw, would have been so much easier if only that booking was available on-line.

  5. If you book through the website, you will have access to your booking via the MSC website. However, if you booked your cruise with an agent,,you will not be able to access that booking via the MSC website. I have no explanation as to why this is,,but one would think wether you book via the website or an agent directly, you should be able to access your booking without having to call MSC each and every time.

  6. If they want more business from North America they should do 6 and 8 night routes.

Would love to see a Southern Caribbean itinerary!! Hopefully once one of the new ships arrives,,we may start seeing expanded itineraries which include Aruba, Curacao, St. Lucia,,etc....

  7. Project Vista to begin cutting steel in April!:)

The shipyards of Saint Nazaire STX France reveal that the construction of the new prototype MSC will begin in April with the cutting of the first plate. E34, so for now it is known in French factories ship 315 meters long, 43 wide and a tonnage of 168 thousand tons, that by the year should be set in the basin, and then be launched and put afloat all 'beginning of 2016 and be ready in May 2017, the same year as fellow Italian Seaside, to be built at Monfalcone.

  8. We have not experienced any of what you are describing on the Divina. I can only hope that the issues you experienced were isolated to your sailing and not the beginning of a pattern which would degrade the value of sailing in the Yacht Club. I would be none to pleased if I found out pax were upgraded to the YC from a lower category after paying a premium for our accommodations!! Your grievances are valid and should be addressed.

  9. I may have just unmade your day.

I'm not sure that the info is correct.

Here is a bit more info from my 2009 brochure which shows the cabins on deck 16 (on the right) are different from the cabins below them on decks 9, 10, 11 and 12. on the left. The cabin on deck 16 definitely has doors marked on the blue print and the other blue print doesn't.

THey do look very similar on the deck plans , but if you expand the deck plans on screen you can see they are not the same and are much more in line with the image I've p[osted below

I look forward to the pictures of 10008 to see which information is correct.

I hope I'm wrong so that you get what you think you're getting, ie doors, and not what I think you are getting

    Pete

My mistake Pete!!! I was looking at the deck plans and not the expanded view. I do like the layout of those suites on the lower decks though. Just wondering why the YC3 suites aren't designed the same way. Would love to have a separate shower and tub along with two closets.:)

  10. I am booked for a med cruise this summer. On the deck plans for my cabin I see dividers, & opening ( for a door/separation) from the living area & bedroom. My room layout is exactly like the YC royal suite on above deck 16. When I call MSC and ask if the room is dividing into two rooms as the floor plans show, they tell me its an open space. However, take a look for yourself, on the deck the plans, corner cabin at the front of the ship cabin 10008 ( aurea balcony suite) it shows a division. I have searched & googled every site to see if anyone has commented on this room. Pls if someone can advise me. Thank you!!

We've stayed in 16008 which is the identical stateroom only in the Yacht Club. There is a door which separates the living area from the bedroom. In the picture below you can see the door which is being held open,,,

  11. I signed up the same time you did...no card yet. But I have my points!:p

We received ours back in September but had signed up last April. You'll definitely want to keep track of your points though. My girlfriend and I have sailed Divina twice last year. I received the points for the nights we had spent onboard, but my girlfriend only received the points for one of the two sailings,,,so now I have to e-mail the main office in Italy to have them fix her points.

  12. Hey Mike , happy new year and i'm glad your back and that all is well.

Same to you Riclop and to everyone here on the MSC board. I've been traveling back and forth from Naples, FL. to Hollywood, FL. almost every day for the past two months and now that I don't need to travel as much,, I have more time to spend here!!!:D

  13. :D:D:D:DYAY!! I was wondering as well what had happened to you!!

So much work and so little time Tsahall01!!! I missed posting on these boards but still managed to lurk every now and then,,,looks like Divina has been getting some great reviews as of late which is good to see!!!

  14. Good to know you're ok - you were missed! Thought perhaps you'd gone down with some winter bug. It is rife over here - work sounds more like a seal enclosure these days with all the coughing going around.

That bug is going around here in the states now,,,,,can't afford to catch it again!!!

I need to start saving for our October TA sailing so I need to make lots of money before then!!:D

  15. Davina uses a cable delivery system which is similar to the type you would find at most hotels. "LodgeNet" is commonly used to provide hotel information, on-demand services, etc. to the hotel guest, however the backbone to these systems is either a local cable provider or a satellite provider such as direct tv. None of this should concern you as you will not be inputing your device onto the Davina's internal broadcast network. What you will need to do is bring a few different cables such as HDMI and a composite audio/video cable. You will need to plug your device into a different input on the tv which will most likely be locked, "Hotel Mode". You would need to bring a Samsung remote as well as the instructions from Samsung's website to enter the advanced menu (only accessed with a series of different button presses). Then, you would need to exit "Hotel Mode". Only change the menu items you can understand!!! Personally,,I would just load my shows onto an I-Pad and then I could enjoy them anywhere on the ship!!

  16. I hope all is well but I have not seen you here in sometime now and you said you were going to be in the YC today for a short getaway.

All is well Riclop!!!! Both of us became extremely busy just before the holidays and we had to cancel our 3 day earlier this month:( Things are starting to slow down a little bit now and I'm looking forward to having some free time to spend here with everyone!!!:D

  17. When we got off the Divina this morning they had FLIR cameras set up at the top of the escalator befor you board the ship. These cameras can detect body temp, I'm sure they weren't looking for the FLU.

MSC has been using the FLIR cameras long before the ebola scare. I had read on MSC's website that they use thermal imaging cameras for all guests embarking the ship,,,just can't find the link to the info again.....
