  1. Thanks Mike, helpful as always !!!

For some reason,,I would always take the long way back to our stateroom. I would walk up the stairs from the concierge area and then walk straight through the doorway and into the hall on the port side of the ship. I would then need to take a right, and then another right, and walk all the way to the end of the hallway to get to our stateroom. This would be the route you drew in "Blue".

When I would remember the short route,,,I would walk up the stairs,,and instead of walking through the doorway in front of me,,I would take an immediate right at the top of the stairs,,and then walk through the other doorway on the starboard side of the ship,,take a left,,and our stateroom room was just a few steps in front of me. That would be your route highlighted in "Red".

  2. Hey Mike,

    yet another question for you.

Due to your review, we upgraded to the 16008 Suite :).

Now studying the deck plans (which I am bad at),

I wondered if there is an access to the staircase, like this:

    staircase%2B1.jpg

or do you have to go all the way round like this:

    l9w4XUl6kDJVudnSJljuGiuU8eDZ3DVeZgwN5OTFiZM=w288-h265-no

And also: where does the staircase lead (only to the concierge area or also to the one pool deck area???). Thank you so much for this thread with all it's information!

    kr pluca

Pluca,,,I'm so jealous!!! We loved that stateroom!!! The staircase is accessed both ways,, exactly how you have it depicted on the deck plan. The stairs will lead you down to deck 15,,the concierge, as well as The Top Sail Lounge. There is also another staircase as well as an elevator which is on the port side of the ship near staterooms 16021 and 16023. Using either one will take you to the One Pool area on deck 18. If you take a left after you exit your stateroom and walk down the hallway, you'll get to a glass door. Walking through the glass door and to the right , there will be a bank of elevators which you can use to get to all decks. However,,this elevator will not take you up to the One Pool area but it will bring you down from there. I hope I didn't confuse you to much!!!:)

  3. We finally got our cabin #16018

Does anyone know about this room

We've stayed in 16009 which is the same exact stateroom just on the port side. It was a great room. The balcony is a little small but overall would have no problem booking another YC1 again,,,it was perfect for just the two of us!!!

  4. We have 3 couples traveling together. 2 couples want to purchase the premium drink package, but the third couple don't drink. From what I'm reading all couples traveling together have to get it. Is this true? Thank you for any help.

Hey neighbor,,,If the bookings are linked together, than yes,,everyone must purchase the drink package,,,however,,if you unlink the bookings, than each couple can purchase whichever packages they want. Just be aware, by unlinking your bookings, you may not be able to dine together,,,go and see the Maitre D' the day you embark the ship and let him/her know you would all like to be seated at the same table together.:)

  5. Hi Mike ... Yep i know MM is from USA, I was looking to see if that cruise was available here and if there were any offers to compare against what was being offered there.

But once again MSC like they have done with other cruises are limiting the markets that the cruise is available to.

The Orchestra is in the Caribbean early in 2016 and boarding points are "Point-A- Pitre" Guadaloupe, £429 cruise only, Fort De France Martinique £429 cruise only and Bridgetown Barbados at £899 cruise only.

Flights from the UK to Barbados are not a problem.

Sidari,,,I think I have finally found out why when sailings are released on the U.S. site there are only a few number of staterooms to select from. For instance,,,a Trans-Atlantic sailing for April 2016 which hasn't been released on the MSC USA site, is available for booking on the Vacations To Go website. SO it appears TA's are getting first crack at these sailings!!!

  6. Hi all - I was wondering if anybody has already booked this suite and what kind of experience it was. I have booked this royal suite for a cruise next summer in the Mediterranean. Thanks for any info!

I have been in this suite twice already just to take a tour and some pics. We stayed in 16008 which is exactly the same, just without the Sophia Loren touch. The balcony is a bit quirky, but if you can get past that,,,you will love everything about the suite. We have the Sophia Loren suite booked for January so if there are any particular questions you have,,I'll be able to answer them then. In the meantime: The balcony pics are from our stateroom 16008,,but it gives you an idea of what the balcony on 16007 will be like.

  7. Where to start?

    *

We got a taxi to the port at about 11.30am. *Got dropped off just outside the YC Tent and was escorted to the check in room that is reserved for YC guests. *After having all the paperwork confirmed and glass of orange juice, we were escorted onto the ship and introduced to our butler all within 20 minutes of so.

Our butler showed us around the YC area. The Top Sail Lounge, the One Pool Bar and the Reception Area and then finally to our room 15029. *We were lucky to have one or the squarer cabins which was great. *We meet quite a few other people and had a look in their cabins, not only are the cabins bigger the wardrobe is a bit bigger too.

We loved loved loved the YC and as most of you that have cruised there have said, I don't think I could go back to cruising anywhere else on the ship

We were escorted the first night to the LaMuse restaurant by our butler as we were not too sure where it was - yes it's on the opposite site from the YC and I've heard some people complain about this, but we liked the walk along deck 15 or along deck 7. *Our waiter Gabrielle was fabulous and anticipated our needs within 2 days. *The Head Waiter Giuseppe wasn't that great, some days he was all over you and others he never even spoke.

    *

We loved the quietness of the YC in both the Top Sail Lounge and the One Pool. *Everyone and I mean everyone in these areas couldn't do enough for you. *Even the Pool Guy was so nice. They brought you drinks without asking, cleared up after you, knew your drink order after only a short time, kept your room spotless and wouldn't even let you carry a cup of tea back to your room.

    *

There are only 2 suggestions I could make. *More permanent shade up in the One Pool area and some decent music in the Top Sail Lounge. *The piped music was truly dreadful, we asked if it could be changed and unfortunately were told that they were unable to do this.

We stopped at some fabulous places and did lots of excursions, some privately and some through the ship. *We even rented a cabana when we make an unexpected stop at Grand Turk for only $120. *Which I thought was excellent value.

I can't thank the staff enough on the YC for making this a holiday to remember. *I'm not great at writing reviews, but CC really helped me when I was planning my holiday and I thought I'd give a wee bit back. *So, if anyone would like any help I'll do my best to answer any questions you may have.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Yacht Club JPR61!!! We looooove it, and it is very difficult to stay anywhere else on the ship once you've sailed there.

We had Gabrielli a few nights as our waiter. We loved him!!! Always smiling,,,always happy!!! Guiseppe runs a little hot and cold at times. He really missed his family back home and was leaving the ship for 3 months to go back home to see them 2 weeks after we had disembarked at the end of August. :D

  8. Is Barrachina a family oriented restaurant or more like a bar restaurant? Would you recommend it for a family with a 3 year old?

Any other family oriented restaurants for lunch and dinner?

Naya,,there are many different dining areas in Barrachina's. The outdoor bar is just past the hostess station when you walk in as well as cafe style seating. There is a dining room upstairs, as well as dining rooms to the left and right of the outdoor bar. We have been there 3 times, and have seen many families with young children there. Our last visit there was back in August, and we had brought our 3 year old nephew with us. Hope this helps!!!:)

  9. Hello... I am booked on the MSC Divina sailing on October 4, 2014...will i be able to take advantage of the new perks.. I am booked in a B2 Balcony Stateroom.... If so, what perks would i be able to take advantage of?

    Would appreciate an answer back...

    Thank You,

    Catherine

Catherine,,,the new experience packages are available for sailings beginning on October 18th, 2014 and for new bookings made after September 23rd 2014.

  10. The cruise is the TA Genoa-Miami on 24 October 2015.

I forgot to mention that when you try to book it on line you do get the balcony cabin for the price of the ocean view cabin. Before I called MSC, I had tried to book it online. I had entered all the requested information, even my credit card number but when I pressed the 'send' button I had a problem with the web page so I called MSC and that's when they told me that the promotion is not available anymore.

They are still showing the reduced price when you try to book it online...

MM42,,,We're on this sailing!! Out of the 4 we have booked,,this is the one we are most looking forward to.:)

  11. I told her the same thing - not paying that much for the Nov. 12th sailing. She said they charge more due to it being a theme cruise and cost of the entertainment is included in the increased price. I'm happy with a regular cabin and will have a great time there for 4 days and look forward to the butler "moving me on up" on the 12th.

I agree with you Cruiser!!! A balcony for 580.00 is a great price for a 4 day sailing,,add in a couple of Allegrissimo Escapes and all will be well. Who knows,,we might even look into booking a MORC if we can get a good price!!!

  12. Someone has already answered your question about the price. I told the CT rep not to bother checking availability after I saw the price of $2850pp for 4 days. EEK!!

Oh he** no!!!!! I'm not even paying that much per person for our 19 day repo sailing from Genoa back to Miami in October 2015 Cruiser!!!!

  13. Why would you not want to have a balcony on deck 8? That is where we are and we got the back of the boat! I am so excited. Of course, the higher levels are better, but for the price?

tms6666,,,the lifeboats are in your direct line of site. The only way to see over them is to stand,,,not the most desirable deck to be on if you booked a balcony stateroom. Hoping for a deck 9 or above, so we'll see how it goes.

  14. Yes we are. And our son is too. We are also in the YC from Nov. 12-22!!! So will be having a good time checking out a regular cabin. Hey, it's only 4 days, right. To book the CT special, you must go through them first and the billing is done by MSC. I checked yesterday on a YC cabin and they are very pricy for just 4 days so we will make do in a reg. cabin.

I'll have to call OTB after 12,,MSC can't look up staterooms for charter sailings so we'll see what they have available. How much were the YC1 staterooms for the CT sailing if you don't mind me asking Cruiser??

  15. Mike, our son's cabin is on deck 12. Ours is on 10. If you call, you will be given several to choose from. Good luck. Go for it!!

Are you going Cruiser???? My girlfriend loves Celtic music and she really wants to go,,but after staying in the Yacht Club twice so far,,it would be hard for us to stay in a deck 8 balcony stateroom. We do want to experience Divina from the regular part of the ship though!!! I'll call my PVC this morning and see what is still available,,hopefully he'll be able to do this!!!

  16. Flanagan, what u going to do? I was ready to not book upon reading your post but after reading all the thread think I will. Stormy

We received a runner up coupon as well and are thinking about booking. Our only hold up right now is going to be stateroom location. If there are only 100 staterooms left,,,A balcony on deck 8 doesn't seem all that appealing to us.

  17. Here are some examples of the artists we all love on the MORC: Tesla-Love Song, Night Ranger-Sister Christian, Great White-Once Bitten Twice Shy, Cinderella-Don't know what you got till it's gone, Firehouse-Love Of A Lifetime. Check them out, they are not at all like Metallica:). Can't wait to meet all of you on the cruise.

Night Ranger!!!! Yessssss!!!!! Saw the Seven Wishes Tour when Starship was opening for them. Loved that album!!! Good to see Kelly Keagy still rockin' it to!!

  18. Both my TA and myself have tried to ring customer care, but the number will ring for an hour then cut off. Tried for 3 days now with a serious booking problem. It seems they don't care once they get hold of your money. Does anyone know of another phone number other than the one on the website? Have also tried emailing but with no other than a standard message received reply.

Two,,,which office are you trying to reach???
