  1. Seriously? To all the people up in arms at the thought of some quiet music on the balcony - do you get upset when a neighbor is talking on their balcony? What if kids are out there playing? I think it's a bit much to demand others be completely silent.

I agree. I don't think any balcony is silent. When people get drunk they can be loud and obnoxious. If I was on my balcony and someone was playing loud music or music I didn't like I would just put my own ear phones in to enjoy the music of my choice.

  2. This is a great thread. I have a balcony for the first time. I love music, I love the ocean, and I love a great cruise vacation. I wouldn't mind someone listening to their music on their balcony as long as it isn't loud or filled with a lot of curse words. I have three sea days on the cruise I am taking. I plan on listening to my music in the early afternoon on low as we are sailing the seas.

  3. Ive cruised out of Port Canaveral, New York, and New Orleans ......

Out of New York I had a blast. The Night Club always had great music, the activities were always on point, and the people were very energetic.

Port Canaveral I had fun, it was my first cruise so I really didn't know what to expect. It was cool though I had a great time.

New Orleans It was cool. There really wasn't a party scene the ship seemed quiet. However because I love New Orleans and I love the iteneray they have for it, I am cruising out of there again in August. So far cruising out of New York has been my favorite for now.

  4. Last year I took my MIL on a cruise with our family. It was her 1st with CCL. I used my email for her contact. Today "she" received an email regarding a sale on the Journey cruises. Excited to see the discount I went to book it. It will not let me get the discount since she isn't traveling and they have not chose me for the discount. It's a $300 difference plus a 100 OBC.

So, any suggestions on getting this discount on an 11 nt cruise. How do the choose to give these discounts to? Thanks for your feedback!

I am the vacation planner in my family. I noticed that I have the most cruises. Everyone that has said and used my email always gets the discount. I feel like carnival does this to pull them in. I think they feel like if you already have 5 or more cruises under your belt averaging 1 a year you're already hooked, but those who only have 1 cruise theyre still trying to get them hooked. What better way than to offer a discounted cruise.

  5. Its been a few years since our last cruise. It was on the Elation for 5 days.

I need help with a few questions:

Planning on the Dream out of New Orleans.......2 adults.....this will be our 4th cruise (all Carnival)

    1) August, September, or October?? Which one for better pricing, better weather, just all around better??

    2) Does anyone have menus for the Dream that is recent??

    3) Where is a good place to stay in New Orleans the night before that has free parking or will shuttle you over to the pier?

Also, plan on booking a Cove Balcony

We are planning on a 7 day cruise, this will be the largest ship to date that we have been on. Any other tips or helpful info about the Dream will be greatly appreciated!!

I'm sure I'll have more questions!!

    Thanks in advance!! :)

I would say October or August either the first one August or the second one August 16. I fear hurrican season anything after that.

This will be my second time out of New Orleans. First time I stayed on St. Charles and this time I am as well. I got a hotel for $300 for two nights

If you cruise in August it should be early August. So if you cruise out of NO it should be no later than August 16th. It's hot but it's also very beautiful

  7. I live in Westchester County. My wife and I cruise every August with our family and friends. Last August we did the Miracle out of NYC it was a fun cruise. This year we are crusing on the Conquest out of New Orleans, I am excited about this one because I was able to get 4 of my other lesbian friends to go, so now it wont be just me and my wife.

  8. My Boyfriend & I would like to take my 3 boys ages 18, 13, 11 on a cruise next year, 2013, kids have never been on a cruise, boyfriend & I have cruised 3 times alone always getting a balcony. Not sure if a Suite holds 5 people or if we have to get 2 cabins. Looking for the least expensive option. Any suggestions?

I am a family of five and we always get an ocean view and an inside , we fins that to be the cheapest way. We book one adult and child on one room and one adult and other two children in the next room. We usually book 3 in the ocean to get the third person discount
