  1. On all previous cruises that I have done, I have never bought things like dining packages or drinks packages pre cruise, and have always found good specials on board. Recently I am seeing more and more people buying pre cruise. Have they wised up and are actually charging the higher prices on board compared to pre cruise. I am referring to Royal Carib.
  2. My apologies if this has been suggested already (I have not read through all 41 replies) but why not just get the train from the airport right to Circular Quay. MUCH cheaper than a taxi.
  3. Thank you so much for the fast reply. I guess I will go pour that whisky.
  4. I posted this in the RCCL forum and the response I got was that they are not sure if it applies to non US sailings, so I thought I would repeat my question on here to see if anyone has any experience with this so can give an answer: I have booked and paid my deposit for an April cruise (South Pacific) but may have to change to a cruise leaving the week before. I did not want to have to sit on hold with Royal for hours so thought I would check here if anyone has had this occur before, and if Royal allowed the deposit to be transferred to a different sailing or if it is 100% non transferable. My booking was made directly with RCCL, and NOT through a travel agent

  6. Thanks all for your comments. Some interesting points. I have only ever tried carnival once (all others have been of various RCI ships). To answer the question of what I disliked about Carnival, it was pretty much only the fact that i felt the quality of food and service, while very good, was still a level lower than I experienced on Royal. And I also found that the activities were much more limited. You could do music trivia, or if you did not want to do that you could do movie trivia. After that if you wanted another activity you could do general trivia. finally there is always the option of cruise ship trivia 🤪
  7. I have done numerous cruises on Royal Caribbean. I did one cruise in between on another cruise line, and while I found the ship itself to be Beautiful, I preferred the whole cruise experience on Royal. I am considering booking a cruise on a different cruise line completely, so that I can cruise at a different time of the year to the main Australian cruise season, but after not being as content when I switched from Royal last time, I am reluctant to try another cruise line again. What are all your thoughts? Does the cruise line make a major difference to you or are you more concerned with the ports.
  8. Sailaway from Vancouver is spectacular. Arriving into any Alaskan port is awesome, also Champagne Bay
  9. Hi all, I cant seem to find this out on the RCI website or even on the email with my FCC certificates. I had a cruise booked pre covid and have 3 FCC certificates from the same booking ID, but in 3 different names (Mine, my wifes and my daughter) Now I want to book a cruise in December, and the lady I spoke to taking the booking could not tell me if the 3rd certificate would be eligible for this cruise as my daughter (whose name the certificate is in) will not be on this new cruise booking. (My other 2 kids will be on this cruise) I have sent an email enquiry through, but was hoping someone on here with any experience would be able to tell me the answer before I have to wait for a response from a website enquiry form. (Or does someone have an email I can contact them on to ask for a quicker response)
