On Med/Europe cruises most passengers do tend to dress up on Evening Chic nights. My DH usually wears a DJ or a Suit but others can be seen wearing a smart Jacket /Trousers

Our favourite pre dinner watering hole is the Passport Bar and it could get quite busy!
If the Gastro Pub is in the same place does that mean it will be far too busy to enjoy a pre dinner drink?
Have they increased the size of the Passport Bar to accommodate the Gastro Bar?
From what I have seen the Gastro Pub serves food - does that still happen in the evenings?
-
Where is the Gastro Pub on the Eclipse - Is it where Cellar Masters used to be or is it at the Passport Bar. Been a while since we sailed on the Eclipse.
Thanks

Thanks - I just called Captains Club number and they gave me the 1 category upgrade.
Thanks for the replies!
Well Done, That is the great thing about this forum ..someone will always know an answer to your question:)
-
I just booked yesterday - we are Elite - don't know if that makes a difference but we got a one category upgrade -cat 1b for the price of a 1c . I read on another post that you have to ask but don't know how true that is. I asked when I booked.

The only thing that has put me off opting for a SV balcony is that people from the outside section of the Oceanview café can look down & see you on your balcony.
-
Thanks for your replies - that is what I was hoping for. The only time we had a connecting cabin (internal) the couple adjoining our cabin were constantly having loud arguments late into the night - it was probably a one off situation but I don't want to risk it.
Happy to book a connecting cabin with external doors.
Appreciate your help in putting my mind at rest

We hope to book a balcony cabin on the Eclipse but looking at the deck plans - the cabin diagram shows that it is a Connecting Cabin. Are these cabins connected from the inside or the outside? I'm hoping it is the latter.
Thanks

Just a quick question - If we are Elite members on Celebrity do we get reciprocal benefits on Azamara?
If we do - on the online booking section do we put our Captains Club number in the section that asks for the Azamara members number?:o

Do they provide Cotton Wool Balls?
-
Loving the review so far - can I ask a question. How does it work in the MDR re the Drinks Package - is there a special section on the Wine List for wine by the glass.
We are joining the cruise on 1st May - can't wait.

Thanks guys! Because of Cruise Critic I kept of an eye on the price!
We rang them as the price had dropped even more since I posted (£600 overall). So they actually advised on the phone to cancel and rebook. Forfeited our £25pp deposit and banked a £550 saving, and they also threw in $100 OBC. So overall very happy! 😀
Well Done - kind of give you a warm fuzzy feeling when that happens:)

The same thing happened on our cruise so I gave RCI a call but didn't get anywhere - they said they don't do that sort of thing but they would ask the revenue dept ...never heard back from them!!. I could have cancelled & rebooked but when I next checked the prices they had gone up and I wouldn't have been saving enough to go through starting a new booking. Strangely enough just last week I got an email from RCI asking if we would be interested in upgrading to a GS!!! I have no idea why we should have been offered an upgrade but we jumped at the chance as we would never be able to afford a GS cabin under normal circumstances.
-
I wouldn't worry about it. We take 2 bottles of wine each and go through security separately - never had a problem. I personally wouldn't put wine in my suitcase just incase they broke but also the though of having to go to the 'naughty' room would put me off
-
We are sailing on the Indy - It's been a while since we sailed with RCI but the last time I seem to remember that there was a separate sun deck for suite guests - I used to see them go up stairs to it - is it still there or am I thinking of another ship?? I don't mean the tiered sun beds right by the pool
-
I noticed our cruise had also dropped in price so I thought I would call RCI to see if they could do something..... had no luck! To get the price difference I would have to have cancelled - lose my deposit & other offers so I wouldn't have gained much for all the extra hassle.
-
That was weird - I just posted & thought I would have another look at my Roll Call & the posts have just appeared - Yay
All sorted & now a happy bunny.
Thanks for everyone's input.
-
Well - I had every hope that after clicking on the triangle that my posts would be reinstated but no such luck - it has been way over 24 hours now:( I see a few people have posted the same problem in the Bugs & glitches section so I added a comment that I'm also having the same problem - doesn't look as if anything has been done about it.
It is soo annoying as I'm the one of our Roll Call who is doing the Roll Call Names list & have some more names to add.
Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to reinstate my posts - not sure what to do next.
-
I had this happen on our roll call too.
Here's what I did. I clicked on the triangle on the last post and stated that this post wasn't showing up. In an hour or so the Host fixed the problem.
Thanks for the info - really appreciate it. I've never paid much attention to the Triangle before.
When you say click the triangle on the 'Last' post - I'm guessing you mean the last post that did actually show up

Looks as if there is a glitch when adding posts to Roll Calls - the actual posts aren't showing up but the Last Post box is indicating that the post has gone through.
Looks as if I'm not alone - just hoping the glitch can be fixed soon as my cruise date is getting nearer.

This is the 1st time we have had a drinks package as in the past we have had a Wine package - are there a reasonable number of wine choices available in the MDR using the drinks package. I'm presuming it is wine by the glass. Do we have to ask the waiters to top up the glass or is it automatically done.
Thanks
-
What happens if you get a drink that is over the deluxe package amount - do you just pay the difference?
-
Thank you so much for you advice.
Good to hear that as Diamond members we have the option of having 3 drinks added to our sea pass to use in other lounges during the Happy Hour times. That might save us from buying a Drinks package. Didn't know that there was only 1 drinks package - DELUXE- so thanks for that.
We like to drink wine at dinner - are there wine packages to chose from - I seem to recall many moons ago that there were 3 packages - does this still exist?
I'm really pleased that there are still Formal nights as I would like to get some wear out of my long evening dresses & it is always great to see my DH doing his impression of James Bond:)
Thanks for your speedy replies

Thinking of booking a 14night cruise from Southampton - it has been quite some time since we last cruised with RCI so we are a bit out of touch.
From what I can see RCI (unlike Celebrity) still have Formal Nights - being a girlie - would I be out of place wearing a long evening dress on the Med cruise?
The other quandary is what to do about purchasing a drinks package - I looked on the RCI website & can't find a lot of info on the choice of alcohol drinks packages - are there 3 types? Where can I find more information? We are Diamond members so I know we can attend the Happy Hour in the Diamond Lounge but we usually prefer to visit some of the lounges around the ship so would most likely miss out on the Happy Hour - do RCI provide drinks vouchers instead.
Sorry for all the questions - I would appreciate your advice.:o
Connections Party Registration
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
Apparently according to another post one way of registering for the Connections Party is if you email celebrityonetouch@celebrity.com and request to be added to the Connections Party List
you will need to add your
Reservation number
Ship
Sail Date
Your Names
Some people have had a confirmation email & some haven't so it is a bit hit & miss but got to be worth a try.
