You have to be diligent, I have noticed on several cruises since they started loading these onto the seapass cards, that the deals aren't always automatically deducted. Especially the drink deals. You might want to mention to the waiter/salesperson/food server that you have a "coupon" on your card you want to use. I also keep that list with me and mark off the deal as we use it.

This has been an issue for almost 3 days. My son works loading chemicals on ships in the port of Houston. He has been waiting on a ship for 2 days now. They opened the port for a few hours yesterday. they had almost forty eight ships in line to come in. Hopefully it will burn off soon since our weather here is improving. Major downfall of cruising out of Galveston.
Main reason they closed down the cruise port in LaPorte.

Here is the Deluxe Bloody Mary, Batman joined us on that cruise.
This would be my drink of choice!

We've been using it to purchase materials to repair our home after it flooded during Harvey. We should have quite a few points. The the Hubs paid it off, and used it for our airfare and balance on the cruise. That will be paid off this month...
Points=OBC

I love playing bingo on the ship, but yes...it can be very expensive. It's a great way to spend time on Seas days. Usually one of the prizes is an upgrade to the Owners Suite.

Has anyone had the surgery done by an orthopedic surgeon? I've met with two at major NYC hospitals and both have extensive experience with this. However, some people have said I should use a neurosurgeon, not an orthopedic surgeon no matter how experience they are. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Use a neurosurgeon for sure!

I've had this same surgery, I think you will be fine on a cruise, just take it easy, bring a soft neck brace to protect you if you have to tender and ride the boat to shore. Relaxation will be the best medicine. Don't do anything too strenuous.
-
I also bought this, and the Hubs is doing the ship tour. I don't mind paying the $35. Not a bad deal if it's something you are interested in...like me.
I'm foodie and it interests me to see how they do everything on such a grand scale. We are going on Adventure....has anyone done the tour on that ship?

Plus Mardi Gras is going on right now in Galveston

Free trolleys available also! Just walk a couple of blocks up from the cruise port and hop on the trolley. It takes you all the way up to the forts.

Like the woman on our last cruise that had 2 yappy little dogs in a stroller. The only "service" those dogs provide was to distract her husband while she shopped and get her attention from the other passengers.
She just annoyed the hell out of me. People like that make it really difficult for those that actually need true service dogs.

We will be on the May 5, 2018 sailing on AOS out of San Juan. Our flight arrives at 5am. Does the port offer any early check in or lockers to store our bags until the ship starts loading? We plan to spend the morning sightseeing and really don't want to drag our luggage around.
-
I called RCCL yesterday about our AOS cruise in May 2018. We had booked non refundable and I was told the only way to get the lower price was to cancel our existing reservation and rebook. Thus losing our deposit money. I smell a rat! Granted we would have only saved $68 but damn!
Sounds like I got scammed.

I called about our AOS cruise in May. Since we picked the non-refundable option, I was told we would have to cancel and rebook in order to get the lower price. And by doing that, we lose our $200 deposit. It would have only saved us $68 and we would have lost our OBC.

We are flying into San Juan for our next cruise. Rather than worry about TSA rules, I'm going to go shopping before getting on the ship for toiletries and snacks. I'm not a big eater, but I snack a lot on nuts, dried fruit, and chocolate. I learned my lesson about those $7.00 cans of stale Pringles and the M&M's in the mini bar. Stock up before arriving.
I also suggest if you have a Bed, Bath, and Beyond in your area....they have a great travel sized toiletries area. I buy the sinus meds, first aid kit, stomach meds.. They are small, a couple of doses instead of packing a big bottle.

I have a similar question. We are flying into IAH at 12:00 on Sunday for a 4:00 departure (check in no later than 3:00). Is this doable? How is traffic in Houston on a Sunday afternoon? I am wishing I would have tried harder to fly in the night before but flights were hard to find and more expensive. I am very nervous about it!
Traffic is worse on the weekend! Lots of road construction on I-45. I wouldn't waste any time at the airport. That timeframe is doable. Be warned there is lots of road construction when you get closer to Galveston, in the Webster area and heading south. When you cross the causeway into Galveston, take the Port Industrial exit. It will be the quickest route to the pier.
-
Just a heads up......I live in the Dickinson/League City area and there is MAJOR freeway construction going on. It's passable but plan to be delayed. Certain times of the day, I-45 South can be a parking lot. It's worse on the weekends. Also some roadwork going on on the causeway leading into Galveston. There are plenty of hotels in the League City area, but be aware that you need to plan on at least an extra hour if you are coming from IAH.

So happy to hear this!!! Now if only they can improve the wait time going through customs.
