  1. it's been a while since we cruised on Oasis. I know they did some upgrades.

Is Johnny Rockets still there on the Boardwalk? I've looked and can't find my info on it. This is my husband's favorite place!

I saw they replaced the Seafood Shack...too bad. I loved it. We tried Sabor on The Navigator..it was ok.

  2. We have done room service on every cruise and had no issues.....until Oasis

Both times I ordered room service it took almost an hour and my pot of coffee was tepid.

The food was room temp and not very appetizing. I'm sure it had to do with the size of the ship and the amount of people ordering.

We are going on Serenade next week, so we will try again. Usually breakfast is all we order.

  3. While on our cruise on the Oasis, I was reading while my husband was playing miniature golf.

There was a couple there, obviously of Latin decent judging by the accents. They looked to be in their mid to late 40's. She had on a bikini that uncovered more than it covered and he had on a speedo.

I'm not a prude or opposed to bikinis, but when you have as much cottage cheese on her thighs as she had and boob overhang...makes me wonder what some women see when or if they look in the mirror. It was so bad that an old man on a scooter even made faces when he saw her...and NOT a good face either.

So I understand some peoples preference that the women cover more.

  4. I also never really understood the problem with breasts in public. Maybe as a gay man I don't care about seeing them, well because I don't care about seeing them. I guess the problem is that they are seen as a sexual object by American men so therefor they have to be covered?

I just don't see how it is "dirty" or "immoral" for a woman to sunbathe topless.

It's like people who think that movies and TV are too violent and "dirty" because they show moderate sexual scenes or drug use; but that western's showing multiple people gunned down and hanged or whatever else are "clean and righteous".

    /rant

Usually because the only women who go topless are the ones who need to stay covered.

No one wants to see her breasts hanging to her knees. IMO

  5. We sailed on Navigator out of New Orleans last November and everything was great.

The boarding took a little longer but that was due to an extensive cleaning due to Norovirus.

The crew went above and beyond to make sure it was kept in check on our sailing.

No complaints here....as for the Galveston port, we live 15 miles from Galveston and hope to sail on Navigator after she returns from dry dock. I guess I will let you know how the port handles the new ship.

Sorry you had a bad experience...

  6. We are boarding Allure on Sunday and tonight my father in law mentions "oh do they weigh you on a scale before the zipline? Because I am near 250 so I am not sure how much I am." This of course means he must know he is over the limit. Then he says "oh well if I am over they can tell me there and give me a refund." I really doubt Royal would think "hey, he booked a spot that someone else could have but hey lets give him his money back!"

$@#$@#!! Months ago I asked the group as a whole "The excursions have a 250lb weight limit, please let me know if we should book something else or if you feel like you don't want to go for any reason" and he specifically said he was fine. Now three days before that is not the case.

We are booked on the Labadee Zipline and the Horseback Riding in the ocean in Falmouth. Both have limits listed of 250lbs.

Any idea how they handle weight limits? Do they have scales there? Will he go plummeting into the water if he is actually 260? [just kidding, I know that won't happen]

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They weighed us before we went on the zipping at Labadee. A lot has to do with which cable they send you on.

  7. Be very careful with the balcony doors....a few months back on Oasis, I though I broke my finger closing my balcony door. It slid shut faster than expected and I smashed the bejesus out of my index knuckle. Tears were shed....ugly words were said. It stayed sore for days! I could only imagine if a little one did that. :-(

  8. Things to Keep

    1. Larger staterooms overall with excellent storage organization.

    2. Free room service

    3. Risotto, Flourless Chocolate Cake, Vidalia Onion Tart

    4. Excellent perks for C & A members

    5. Wow Card Rewards for Superior Service

    Things to fix

    1. Don't cancel cruises once they're advertised on Royal Caribbean. We just had this happen on the May 2, 2015 Rhapsody and we're NOT happy.

    2. Stop adding more rooms to ships. This worsens congestion.

    3. Return to the ship shape menu offerings. Used to be 3 courses under 500 calories, then changed to under 800. Now, it's just healthy.

    4. Better Itineraries. Pacific Coastal had a blast on Celebrity. RT Hawaii from California, done it on Princess and had a blast! Longer Alaska cruises RT out of Seattle. Also, more itineraries out of Galveston. Been on the two offered so many times. Why not longer ones, or cruise to the Bahama's with a stop in New Orleans? At one time, Carnival had a Bahama's cruise out of Galveston so it's possible. Also, would like to see a South American itinerary out of Galveston.

    5. Give us choice(s) of appetizer at Giovanni's table instead of dumping them all on the table.

Totally agree with more itineraries out of galveston!!!! We live 15 miles from galveston and would cruise way more if they had more sailings. As of now..our last 3 cruises we went to Florida and twice to New Orleans. Love RCCL and are loyal to the company, but have seriously considered jumping ship to Norwegian when they start sailing out of Port Of Houston.

  9. And I have no idea why Nassau is such a popular port. I'd rather sleep in and spend the day on the empty ship than to get off in Nassau.

For goodness sake Atlantis now charges people to go to the Aquarium. No thanks, I'll sit by the pool with a drink and a multitude of empty seats to choose from. :D

Exactly how we feel about Falmouth! If you venture off the ship you are assaulted by over zealous rude shopkeepers and jewelry merchants.

To do any excursion, you have to travel by bus for 2 hours! After reading how terrified most people are of traveling to excursions...we just stay on the ship. This is a total waste of a day to us. Could totally do without this port...even though it is on so many stops for the RCCL Caribbean sailings.

  10. * I would like to see Royal change the production shows on a regular basis - like maybe 3 years on each ship. If it is a monetary issue for Royal, they could just swap shows amongst ships.

    * Go back to the original way of getting a pool towel - have the cabin steward leave 2 in the room for you.

    * Keep the Windjammer open 24 hours.

    * On ships with a Royal Promenade, have a drink station set up with iced tea and lemonade 24 hours.

    * Get rid of those expensive hand-held Bingo machines. Bingo used to be more fun when everyone had the same chance to win with just the paper cards. Most of the winners are playing on the machines, and at $50+ for each Bingo session, it is ridiculous.

    * Give us some more varied Caribbean itineraries to choose from - maybe 10 & 12 days to the Southern Caribbean or Panama Canal partial and full transits. I'm tired of the same old 7 day eastern and western itineraries.

Love the towel idea and the bingo idea for sure! I love playing bingo on sea days but the cost is just insane!

    Love the itinerary idea also!

  11. This is great information thanks.

We will be traveling on Serenade with our 7 yr old grandson. It's nice to know we can limit his sea pass card. Don't want him thinking it is a magic ticket to whatever he wants. We are taking the family and I know my son is limited on his funds for this trip. I may even see if my grandson's expenses can be tied to our acct instead of my son's.

  12. I have come to the conclusion that RCCL has the worst website ever!!!

I almost had 3 strokes just trying to order tuxedos for my husband and my son.

I have also had to wait weeks for them to update our reservations. This isn't the first time, but EVERY time I have had to go online with them to do anything!!!! GRRRRRR:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Love cruising with them....hate dealing with the corporate side.
