First, sorry to hear Deep Blue isn't responding.  I thought the Carnival excursion whale watching boat was small and didn't hold a large number of people as it left from the beach. But there could be larger ones.   Contact Shore Excursioner and see if they are offering a tour when season starts. It won't be up or available this time of year.

Thank you.  I did actually just get in touch with Deep Blue.  For some reason my emails weren't getting through to them.

  2. Anyone have recommendations for an ATV or dune buggy tour?  Had one booked through Carnival but it was canceled.  Was looking at Outback Terracross at one pont but it looks like they are permanently closed.  I believe Marysol or Iguana Mama may offer them but was hoping for feedback on booking with either of them?  Thank you in advance!

  3. Can anyone recommend a company to go whale watching with?  I was hoping for a smaller boat experience vs the one Carnival offers.  Was looking at Deep Blue Charters but now I can't get in touch with anyone.  Would especially love the possible opportunity to get in the water and snorkel too.

  4. Does anyone know if Deep Blue Charters is still in operation?  I had gotten a response back to an inquiry and when I responded again I haven't gotten any response for a couple months.  😔

  5. For the summer we are definitely staycationing.  We are currently trying to figure out what to do though since our November cruise was just cancelled.  So hard to plan since no one knows what the world is really going to be like then.  Not sure I can take the disappointment of another cancelled vacation. 😄  I would like to go to one of the (I think) 18 states I haven't been to yet but most of them will be colder in November.  And I definitely don't want to go somewhere where I have to cook!  LOL  Always wanted to go to New Orleans so may check that out.  Love getting ideas from this topic!

  6. I was supposed to cruise on the Breeze this November.  I fully expected my cruise to be cancelled because of the virus.  I did not however expect it to be cancelled because they are taking the ship so others can cruise on it!  That's the part that makes me angry and frustrated.  Even if it was because of moving out of Port Everglades why not take the Breeze original sailings and just move them to Port Canaveral and cancel the Radiance sailings?  I'm sure it is because of money.  I know there is a good chance those cruises on the Breeze will be cancelled anyways but it is still upsetting.  Especially when comparable cruises at comparable time frames are quite a bit more for the same type of cabin.

we booked our first premium vista balcony on the Breeze this month. It will be our first aft cabin ever.

How did you like the cabin, how was the view looking down?  What number did you have?  I am surprised there isn't more info out there on these cabins.  TIA

  8. My TA sent me the link to fill out to request the FCC on my own since Carnival's hold times are so long.  I did it and haven't gotten anything from Carnival.  She then filled out something on her end asking my FCC to be transferred to the booking I have on hold ASAP since the hold expires Wednesday.  This was all Saturday evening and as of now, both my cruises are still showing with the one being as a hold.

Hello we are looking for a private excursion for 11 people and was looking for recommendations.  I found a few private catamaran charters but doesn't seem like too many that would combined with a visit to see the sloths that would be private charter.

    Thanks!

I would check with Daniel Johnson's.  We did a tour with them and the snorkeling was good, even saw an octopus!  I am thinking you could do 11 on their snorkel boat.

Really? From all the comments I have seen on this tour and answers from the company, they say that you get the entire jeep to yourself and you are following a tour guide in his own jeep in front of you. Did you request the guide to be with you?

We did not request it, it was just the way it was. Maybe they have changed the way they do things?

Please tell me more about renting a golf cart? Cost? Where did you go and what did you do? Did you feel safe?

Sorry, it's been so long. We just walked and found a place.  We ended up using Barefoot Rentals I think it was called.  It was about $50 for 4 hours maybe?  We felt safe the whole time, had a blast.  If we go back I would probably go through Captain Jak though.  I think theirs may go a little faster.  LOL

Good morning!  When you say you booked the ferry on your TV, was it listed under the excursions?  I can't find a ton of info on the ferry - I even called NCL Excursions and they knew nothing about it!

When you went to Placencia, do you recall the $$ you used in town?  I would like to go for lunch and maybe a shop or two.  Are credit cards or US dollars accepted? Thank you!

Morning!  Yes, it was under excursions.  Super easy!

If I remember right we used a VISA to rent the golf cart and USD when we stopped at the grocery store/market.  The place we had lunch we used one or the other, I honestly don't remember now.  I know we did not get any special currency for our cruise.

If you have your booking number, I would think that you could sign in and start booking your shore excursions at any time.

What this person said.  I have all my excursions booked already and my cruise is after yours.  The TA should have sent you the confirmation they got from Carnival with your booking info on it.  If not, request it ASAP!  This is what the top part of my email from my TA looks like, the rest has our information, the itinerary and cost/what has been paid.

  14. Just took the ferry in March.  When we did it it was $30pp, well worth it!  The ferry runs multiple times per day and usually your return time is 3 hours after your ferry over.  As crewsweeper said you book it on board, I believe you can also book it at the ferry dock, but I am not positive on that.  I did ours through the TV in our room.  We chose the 9am time and with that one when we checked in they gave us the latest return ferry.  The person checking us in said it was because most people that take the 1st ferry over have an excursion so they don't impose the 3 hour return time.  From what I have read if you do not make your return ferry at the specific time you have to wait until there is space available on the next one.  I believe someone said they had to wait over an hour when they missed their designated time, because the return ferries were full.  I believe our return was at 3:30?  Maybe 2:30.  I can't remember for sure.

We held the monkeys and the birds, no problems at all. They were picking at the top of a baseball cap but no other worries. We had a camera inside the cages with us and got some great pictures. Like this one of me when the monkey hopped on my shoulder from behind, I was only planning to take the pictures so was a bit surprised. They monkeys were so much fun. Enjoy!

I am very surprised they let you take your sunglasses and hats in.  When we went with Daniel Johnson's in March we had to leave everything outside except cameras.  Cameras were fine because you are holding it in your hand.  They will pick pockets!  lol

Was that the tour that went to Punta Sur or the one that takes you by bus to the East side then up the coast versus down?

We did Punta Sur.  The view from the lighthouse is gorgeous!  We did not do snorkeling.  That side of the island is very beautiful.  You can customize your tour for what you want.
