There is one house white, one house red and also a sparkling house wine available when the restaurants are serving lunch and dinner, as well as the beers Clay mentioned. Refills are unlimited and staff will happily pour you a top up before you leave the restaurant in the evening that you can carry with you to the theatre or wherever.
Once you've taken a seat in a restaurant, the wait staff will generally come and offer you wine but you can also ask at the Aquavit and Pool bars and they will serve you the house alcoholic beverages as well as sodas etc. without charge during the mealtime hours.
It seems to be a little known fact that sparkling house wine is available as part of the included package but it has become our regular sail-away drink. The Red and White house wine varietals change quite often but the sparkling wine is normally Viking's own brand, a German wine, which is also used to welcome people on board, and at receptions.
Is it a reisling champagne?

Will be sailing March 20. Will be comparing the food with Oceania to decide which line in the future. Oceania was great. We will see.

Have never tipped room service. Some do.

We also feel this way. We like to eat around 6:00 and often that is the time of the sail away. Eating outside with food from the buffet during that time suits us well. 😊
In the winter in Norway?..

I noticed you did not mention the Planaterium. Did you go?

Excellent site! A few questions. How was the included wine? Do the have Sommeliers?
i seeRack of Lamb only in the specialty restaurant , right?
How was the Lobster? Can you order two entrees? Looks like the night of the Lobster is also Prime Rib.
Whats the best entree on the cruise and what would you avoid?
is Manfredis worth it or would you stay in the dining room?

Bingo. We travel to experience the local culture and food. Now I like to have decent food and having been in the business my whole life, I know good food but I don’t think there is a cruise line out there that is capable of serving 5 star food. There are just too many people. That said I’ve been on Holland America, Celebrity, Regent, NCL, Disney, Royal Caribbean, Tauck and Windstar. There have been good meals and some so so meals but we certainly were never hungry. 🤷🏼♀️
What does never hungry mean? What are you trying to say? That the food was not-so bad you couldn't eat it??Many make this comment. Either the food is good or it isnt. Of course, you can always just eat bread. Not going hungry has nothing to do with the quality of the food. It doesnt Tell us anything.

I guess when you consider that you would have received three meals plus, onboard, lost two days of the cruise, a port, then well maybe enough is enough.Yes, you are right but I would rather pay and eat somewhere else . Too old to worry about the addl cost.

We just got back from the Northern Lights cruise that was supposed to start on Feb. 10th. Viking did a horrible job of accommodating us in London for the 2 day delay. They put us up at an OK hotel but the meals they served us were banquet room cattle call meals that were absolutely terrible. The free excursions they offered in London were mostly all booked so we had to settle for a tour of St. Pau'ls Cathedral (just OK). The paltry $150 shipboard credit per stateroom was wholly inadequate for the 2+ lost days of our cruise. We also lost a port stop (Amsterdam) and received no accommodation for that.
When we finally did get transported to Tilbury by bus, the boarding process was an absolute disaster; long wait and then long waiting lines once we did get in the terminal. All in all, Viking did a terrible job in handling this delay.

Agree. It makes them look stupid.
