  1. We stayed at an Airbnb last winter. Previously we had stayed at the Marriott in OSJ and a boutique hotel. While the apartment was clean it was noisy all night. People in OSJ stay out very late or maybe it’s very early? We would see party goers stumbling home when we were waking up for breakfast.

We felt safe and all but I’d recommend ear plugs!

I will say we also heard the noise the year we stayed at the boutique hotel. Next time I’ll say again at the Marriott or similar type hotel.

  2. We will be cruising in January on the Jewel of the Seas and looking for a great beach on St.Croix. Has anyone been to Rhythms at Rainbow Beach???

Rhythms was wonderful. We did an ATV/jet ski tour prior which dropped us off right at Rhythms. The jet skis screamed if you like to fly.

  3. Totally agree. We've gone out of SJU 4 times and always leave early. Do self disembarking and get right down to where you need to meet. You'll get right off the boat and to the airport before its busy. Like the previous response just make sure all your bags/carry ons go through Ag screening before check in. We've always been at the airport and through security by 9am. You won't have any issues at all. Enjoy your trip

  4. I have Verizon and like many said keep my cellular data off. I will turn my phone on airplane mode and only turn on in port to check messages and call home quickly to check in. You will get a message at each port with Verizon saying welcome to xxxx you will be charged blah blah blah

  5. Don't be alarmed if when you go in the ferry terminal to purchase tickets there's no agent in sight. My DH wasn't so sure and then suddenly someone appeared out of no where and we were GTG. As previously stated just get a round trip ticket on the SJU side

  6. We've mainly done trips out of San Juan. I find it super easy. As mentioned there are 2 different docks. Where carnival docks it makes it easier to get back off and do a last minute run to CVS for water or anything you may of forgotten.

LOVE the southern ports (19 days until we're heading back).

Agree, boatyard is the best in Barbados.

St Lucia, treetop adventures was amazing (we did the triple which was open aired safari truck, zip line and waterfall)

St Kitts if you like a tour that consists of everything check out Javin. We've been twice. He's awesome!!

We too have always gone in a day or two early. If you've never been to San Juan go early to extend your trip and tour the forts. They are incredible. Enjoy!

  7. Honestly if you're going as far north as Bar Harbor I'd pack a few sweaters or fall type jacket. We camp in southern Maine in July and I wear a sweatshirt every night and every morning. For years I swore it never got 'hot' in Maine. Well I now can say it does get hot BUT also cools off quickly at night. Expect night temps that far north in the 60s or perhaps upper 50s even

  8. We did this 2 years ago. Take the ferry across (it was like .50 each way) make sure you get your ticket back at the same time. The line was super long purchasing tickets on the other side. When you get off the ferry there will be a bunch of cab drivers yelling 'Bacardi'. They will fill up the cab and off you'll go. It was super cheap.

  9. Check you confirmation. I had 2 reservations for the same trip. (Our room and my sons). I had it marked on my calendar a week out to 'pay off cruise' until I got an email saying his reservation was being canceled for non-payment. His reservation for some reason was 3 weeks earlier than ours. Needless to say I call and paid both off immediately

  10. Still be excited :) Based on all my experiences with Mandoo the plethora of 'Excellent' reviews reflect the attitude I see to his business and to his guests. What is important to note is that since the post that has concerned you he has had excellent reviews. I saw him yesterday in the cruise liner terminal in his dapper white outfit and we exchanged seasons greetings before he headed out with a full group of folk.

I highly recommend if you still have concerns read the recent reviews and also communicate with him directly and let him know of your nervousness - if nothing else it will help you make a more informed decision.

Have a fabulous cruise and Seasons Greetings to you for Grenada :D

Thank you!! Maybe I'll reach out again this weekend!

  11. We just did a tour with Mandoo earlier this month. It was a great experience!!

How long was your trip with Mandoo and what did you do? I had found him a while ago and was really excited and then saw a really bad review...like left the family in the rainforest review and they missed their ship [emoji30]. I canceled our day but have seen a few decent reviews so I'm pondering again
