  1. We've been with Javin twice and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Actually we are in discussions for February. Anyway, yes Javin takes you to the rain forest BUT it's not the same that everyone else goes to. He takes you first to the black rocks not to view but to actually hike down onto them for some amazing pictures. Then you go into the village he grew up in and enter the rainforest into his childhood backyard. Simply breathtaking. Once done that he will offer you some local pastries, waters. And local juices after you wash your hands! Yes he provides soap and water for rinsing. You'll not head to a local beach where you'll snorkel to a ship wreck and the. Finally to a beach to either swim, walk or enjoy Lions Bar. Yes you must great lions punch. I prefer without the spice but wowzers! Enjoy!

  2. Shop for sure on St Martin. There's a beach right outside the shopping district and if you have time take a cab over to Maho. The planes coming in and leaving are cool.

St Kitts, if your up for an adventure check out My Island Tours by Javin. Our personal favorite!

  3. You can bring a bottle of wine on board per person (Don't forget your wine cork) Once you get your Sign and Sail card you then go past the liquor store. Next through security. The collection for the liquor you purchased is once you board the ship. We didn't do it but saw SEVERAL people just walking right on board w/ their bags. with that said our second cruise out of SJ we use rum runners.. No issues. Theres a CVS about a block away where you can get off the boat and get water, soda, mixers etc :D

  4. We just booked our first RCCL cruise on the AOS and can't wait! We have sailed twice out of San Juan w/ Carnival and LOVED the southern ports. I have no desire to do any of the Mexican ports IDK why just don't We did a Disney Bahamas cruise this past January and it was COLD and said Im going back to PR next year. Since Ive been wanting to do Aruba AOS was calling our name. So as I can't speak of the ships, the ports are AMAZING. We are doing the one w/ St Thomas (we're going to St John via Redhook), ST Kitts (amazing) and the other two ports are new. Yes, you will have alot of PR residents on the boat, but they get great last minute deals w/out the airfare. We haven't had any negative issues w/ this on our two previous Carnival ship and have even enjoyed speaking with several locals to get an idea of what their island is like. So much so this time we are planning on flying out 2 days earlier to explore more of PR than just OSJ

  5. Our guide Javin from St Kitts is helping us figure out what we want to do next time as we have done his tour twice. He recommends Spirit of ST Kitts or or their sister ship the Eagle. I haven't gotten more info but its a good place to start. Let us know how it is.

  6. We had to do this for the first time in Key West in January on DCL. What a **** show! There was no 'Disney Magic' on that. They just lined everyone up and you strolled along until it was your turn to show your documents. Once the line actually began moving it went fairly quickly but the initial get everyone lined up was just crazy.

  7. We're back in St. Kitts first week of February 3015. I've been keeping in touch with Javin and his wife, they aren't taking 2015 bookings just yet. Last time it was 4 of us with Javin in his 4 wheel drive, haven't seen the safari bus yet. By the way, have you seen is Facebook page, Myisland Tours by Javin?

Just "liked" it. I was already "friends" with him on FB. I have been in contact with him regarding our 2015 trip. Hes doing his best to see which way we want to go. Of course we are requesting whatever we opt to do we want to end our day at Lions!

  8. We've been out with Javin twice and loved every minute of it! The first trip with just DH and myself and the second it was more of a 'tour' on his new safari bus. We had our 'kids' with us the second time (22&18) and they said Javin was their favorite part of the whole cruise. I actually just emailed him to see what we can do different in 2015 (hopefully with him) and stopping at the beach after. No tour is complete without stopping at Lions Bar!

Can't wait for our return trip in 2015. The snacks he has are delicious and yes, the soap and water to wash up with are a huge plus. You won't regret your day with Javin

  9. We've been to San Juan, St Thomas and St Marten. Personally Old San Juan is a great city with free trolleys that bring you to a National Historical Fort(s) They are amazing to walk through. City streets in Old San Juan are flooded with tourists throughout the day and we have never felt unsafe.

St Thomas is beautiful. Last time we went to St John via Redhook AMAZING! and very simple to do on your own.

St Marten...my least favorite. Way to crowded and built up. Maho is a great place to go w/ a little bar/pub to watch the planes come in and of course you have to see Orient!

  10. OK couple of questions. I was thinking of doing the Blue Lagoon w/ my DH and myself, BUT I had read that the waters are shallow (waist deep) and others were great so I canceled that trip. I was going to go to the Atlantis as my friend and her DH were going to be there on a company trip (two birds one stone kinda thing) but then we realized she leaves the day before:( So I figured 5 hours (after bus trip there and back to the pier) $340 was to much to pay.

Sandals...huh...how far from their pier? We are in port from 7am-330. Stupid times and its a busy port day 7 ships in port so we need plenty of time to get back. Good thing this trip was free (disney points) because Im already missing the Caribbean!

  11. We've used spencer and had a great time. The people selling stuff at the stops didn't hound us. If we wanted to go look then we could...or if we wanted to get back into the van we could. We saw beautiful things and beach at the end was gorgeous.

  12. $15 includes chairs and an umbrella, A free drink, CLEAN bathrooms, a ride back to the port. Food is decent (pub style as well) We rented the jet skis and they secured our bags w/ all of our expensive camera equipment on top of the bar no questions asked. Security is present and there are rope swings off the pier and water 'toys' as well to climb and jump off. I'd return no questions asked. (happy hour runs every 2 hours B1G1 drinks)

  13. absolutely! We've used him twice and can't wait to return to St Kitts again! Love that island. We will so go with Javin a third time...no questions asked. (yes we would do the same stuff, but the black rocks and rainforest are simply amazing. Snorkling we saw the largest starfish we've ever seen..then theres Lions Bar..get the punch, NUF said!)

  14. we are also going in on the Wonder but not until January. We too were going to the Atlantis but have it booked through Disney, I think our includes everything for $169. Is it cheaper just to buy at the Atlantis (Im assuming) Its such a crazy port day I think there are 7 ships in port that day and we leave port at 330. I feel like its so much $ for just 6 hours or so at the park... Thoughts?
