I've found a 12 foot extension is sufficient for a standard balcony cabin. Make sure nothing you bring has surge protection. The cheapo $4 ones at Home Depot or Walmart should do.

I had custom 20 foot cords made for our ResMed AirSense 10s from SF cable. They plug directly into the little power brick, but it's an overly complicated answer to a simple problem.

There is one outlet next to the bed, according to Harr Travel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c50qwgMe4AI

The youtube is the Prima, not the Getaway.  (I do have two cruises planned on the Prima but have outlet next to the bed for those cruises 🙂 )

  2. I have a cruise coming up on the Getaway.  I am in a solo balcony cabin which I understand is like any other balcony cabin.  Reading / watching reviews, it seems that there are NO outlets next to the bed, but only across the room.  I'm trying to figure out how long of an extension cord I will need to bring?  Thanks!!

I remember the exclusive suite towels and they were taken away for years. Now someone on this thread said they are back?

We were in an Owner's Suite in February - Pride of America.  The Master bedroom had some very, very nice plush towels.  The second bedroom had the regular NCL towels.

Looking for information on Internet... We are in an deluxe owners suite on the Prima, we currently have 150 minutes in our package. I thought I read that internet is free for owners suites? Is that documented anywhere? TIA!

We were in an owner's suite on my last cruise.  We were surprised to learn about the "free" sparkling water, soda, etc.  However we heard nothing about free internet.

  5. I personally love the Jewel class ships.  It depends on what you like.

NCL is very much "freestyle".  You never need to "dress up" although there is usually one or two specialty restaurants on most ships that do require collared shirt for men and slacks or nice jeans.  No set dining times or tables.

😞 You can't bring soft drinks or bottled water on board (except at ports in Hawaii).

  6. I've never seen the excursions so "messed up" as far as availability.

ZERO excursions on my late October Getaway cruise.

I keep looking at excursions for my January Prima cruise.

    - Not interested in Great stirrup Cay excursions.

    - NO excursions at Tortula, BVI.

    - THREE excursions at St. John's, but not sure I want to do any of them.  One is a "maybe" but probably not.

    - Phillipsburg has a lot of excursions.  I have booked one with friends

    - San Juan has several excursions including the one to accompany a mobility impaired, but the one for the mobility impaired passenger is NOT listed

    - Puerto Plata has ONE excursion available

    - NO excursions for Georgetown

    - NO excursions for Cozumel

Random question, but back in the day when I used to cruise with other cruise lines, I would purchase the soda package, and it would come with a reusable cup. Does NCL give you a reusable cup if you have a soda and/or alcoholic beverage package, or do you just get your sodas in glasses from the bar?

I haven't seen reusable cups on NCL

  8. I'm cruising on the Getaway end of October, similar or same itinerary.  I was surprised yesterday to see ZERO available excursions when my January cruise on the Prima has excursions available.  I was concerned that they were already sold out.

Sometimes when I have OBC available, I buy cruse next while on board.

You can only use refundable OBC to buy cruise next.

I didn't remember mine being refundable, but good to know.  Thanks!

The OP already has pre-paid gratuities, but can they be paid with non-refundable OBC??

  10. I do NOT know the rules in your country.  In the United States, since the cruise is over 120 days away, when you cancel the cruise next credits will be put back in your account and any payment you made will be refunded.  Once the cruise credit is back in your account, then you can book the next cruise and apply the credits.

  11. Soft drinks are normally available at some (maybe all??) of the bars.  I don't like the soft drinks offered by NCL except root beer which I was able to get at a bar on one sailing.  I'm not sure if you can get root beer at bars on most ship??  If they offered Dr Pepper or even Mr Pibb, I might get a drink package.

  12. You will need to compare the cost vs the benefits of booking two cabins vs a suite.  Friends and I have decided that we like the suite benefits so book 2 bedroom suites.

Non-Haven suites that might work -

-- SJ would work for you but not for us.  It has a separate bedroom and the third person would sleep on the couch in the living area. Parents have to go through the living area to the one bathroom.

-- SK is like SJ except child has to go through parent's room to use bathroom

Haven suites that might work -

-- H2 Premier Owner's Suite has three bedrooms and is what we are sailing in with another couple on our first Prima cruise

-- H3 Deluxe Owner's Suite has two bedrooms

-- H4 I think is set up similar to SJ above

-- H5 is set up similar to SK above

-- H6 has two separate bedrooms with bathrooms - this might be perfect for you!!

-- HB is set up similar to SL above

  13. Agree that I hate the smoke - I always figure out alternate ways to get to other venues.  I was never going to sail on Breakaway class because friends said the smoke infiltrated all venues open to the atrium.

On the other hand, if LOTS of people are in the casino (which I totally avoid), then that means more space per person in the rest of the ship.

I book my excursions online and my latitude gets applied when paying. The price i see when just looking at the excursion description is the price after my $50 is deducted. When paying 10% is then deducted on that posted price.  Works well for me.

    Same with me
