  1. The presenter started off saying they were updating all the cabins, getting updated linens, new floors, new ceilings, new walls (his words)..... and then mentioned making them like edge with the infinite verandas...

    I figure with 9 ships in the fleet to update, and an allocation of $400M for ship upgrades, that means they cant do all that was mentioned....

    I could see trying to get murano onto the millenium class, and updating the cabins; updating to me would not mean new ceilings and walls, but new flooring/rugs where needed; Replace the moldings which have been badly beaten up, etc...

    On summit in RS the mods post refurb didnt seem well thought out.. In fact they were rather lacking and unimaginative... A slight change when you walk in, and a new tub in the bathroom.. I would have added a bar sink, a bar fridge (or at least a wine fridge like on solstice), and replaced the "fridge" hiding in the closet (with poor to no ventilation) with a more substantial fridge that can hold more tonics, mixers, etc.. Replaced the whirlpool tub with a real hot tub..

    So while the talk didnt directly mention cabin reconfiguration, I dont see they can really afford do a large cabin reconfiguration, nor balcony reconfiguration.... We sure hope they dont touch the balconies..

    I noticed the size differences between the Royals on Edge and S-class too.

    During the Edge talk were they discussing changing the existing verandas on the M-class and S-class ships, or just reconfiguring the cabins?

  2. It appears the balcony in a RS on edge is 72 sq ft..., room is 687 sq ft

    On millenium ships balcony is 195 sq ft, room is 538 sq ft

    on solstice balcony is 158 sq ft, room is 590 sq ft

    I dont understand what the designers are thinking... ok RS is a bigger room on edge, but oh boy 72 sq ft.. not acceptable.. no loungers on there... probably not room for a breakfast table and chairs..

    all edge sky suites have larger balconies than an edge RS.. (S1=163, S2=79, S3=102).. granted they have smaller rooms than an RS... even an SV has a larger veranda.....

    We love our balconies and sea days... seems edge is not going to be for us..

    Whats worse is we heard in an edge talk today that celeb may change the configurations of all the rooms on the millenium and solstice class to match edge.. I sure hope not, we love that fact millies and solstice have decent balconies...

  3. We've done LA->Hawaii->LA and SanDiego->Hawaii->San Diego w/celeb several years back.

    Thank you ChezMaryLou for posting this; We put a cabin on hold;

    We love this cruise for the sea days; I'd like it if we did a sail past the volcano at night (had that on one of the above cruises);

    Glad we arent doing an overnight, we arent big fans of that...

    I really wish celeb offered more of these RT cruises, and more canal cruises...

    I really thought this would be a popular cruise, and looks like I was right. Glad we booked as soon as we could. It is now showing on the web site, at least for Captain Club members. Looked at the per diem for this cruise vs a one way from Vancouver or from Hawaii and this priced out as less per day for the suite we booked. Plus we don't have air from or to Hawaii. I'll give up an overnight for that.
  4. I've had them come thru as some random 800# which almost got them blocked; I"ve also had them come thru as "CELEBRITYCRUISES" on the caller id..

    We have found its hit or miss on them making contact. We usually are in a higher end suite, and more often than not we dont get any phone calls. We did for our Sept 2017 Equinox sailing, and it was nice. They gave us their phone number, email and wanted to know how we wanted the cabin setup etc... For our upcoming Dec 2017 cruise on Summit, it was a call to find out if we needed air travel arrangements; nothing about cabin setup etc. I pointed out the difference between the 2 concierge's to the person I spoke to... They had never heard of a concierge asking about cabin setup for a high end cabin <faceplam>.

    Overall I consider it another typical issue with Celeb; Great cruises once you are onboard, but inconsistent service getting there.. (I could mention the website and what a nightmare it is, but I wont :) )

  5. We are booked at the Sheraton convention center. Where did you see that they were closed? I will contact them because I thought they were open. We are booked right after Thanksgiving.

    Sent from my iPad using Forums

    I was booked at the sheraton in old san juan, and was told they werent reopening til 2018; I looked on http://puertoriconow.seepuertorico.com/hotels/ and saw the hotel & casino also werenot opening til 2018..

    However I just checked that page and now see the old san juan one is opening in Dec... figures just after my reservation was cancelled (I had reserved for 12/11)

    Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel (01-Dec-17)

    Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino (09-Jan-18)

  6. We met Anca on the 9/15/17 Equinox sailing; During the cruise we ran into her several times, as well as in Michael's club; She was very eager to help and seemed very detail oriented. We didnt have any issues with our suite or butler (Emir, who is excellent) , it was just nice to see someone in her role wanting to address issues rather than sweep them under the carpet... Now if she could just fix the celeb web site....

  7. You can hotspot your mac; I did it running macos high sierra but I suspect previous versions would work too.

    1) Connect the mac to the ship wifi

    2) system prefs -> Sharing -> enable internet sharing; share your connection from wifi to bluetooth

    3) turn off wifi on your iphone/ipad;

    4) now connect to your mac from my iphone/ipad etc via bluetooth

  8. I'm looking at my reservation; the shore excursions for every port,including "at sea" bring me to the generic celeb page...

    eg: https://www.celebritycruises.com/destinations?day_shore_ex_location=6

    https://www.celebritycruises.com/destinations?day_shore_ex_location=5

    Celebrity, you offer to show me the excursions for the ports we are stopping in, but then show me some page of useless trash thinking I've nothing better than to try to drill down to find an excursion... wrong.....

    Some of us are actually surprised we got to login and SEE our reservations...

    If I were a first time celeb cruiser I'd be looking at any other cruise line, cause any of them do a better job than celeb...

  9. I've found the web site to be a disaster for the past several weeks; Yesterday it was internal error, after internal server error...

    This morning I found I could at least see my reservations and look at other potential cruises..

    I dont like the new layout; I dont like how SLOW it is to do anything, and it seems that going back to look at the cruises you "found" it undoes the "refinements" that were in place... I really hope they get some help and fix this disaster...
