  1. Travelling through the St Lawrence Seaway there is land on both sides and you get to see the villages and farmland.

I have been to Quebec on this cruise twice, once the temperatures were in the 70s the next time it snowed in the mountains and the temperature at the dock was 40.

The person who said bring a fleece jacket and gloves is right. You can ask your room steward if there are blankets to use on the balconies.

    Have a great time.

  2. Anyone who knows any chemistry at all, knows it can't be powdered alcohol(ethanol). Ethanol is a chemical compound and is a liquid at room temperature. To be a powder it would have to be below its freezing point. Have you ever put vodka in the refrigerator? Even at that temperature it's still a liquid.

When I first heard about it, I thought the same thing ( had quite a discussion over the Easter dinner table). Then we found out that it is encapsulated somehow, probably like some gel caps, and that made the whole idea even less appealing.

I am sticking to my beverage package. :D

  3. As if alcohol, marijuana, caffeine and pills of various kinds aren't enough to give Americans a buzz, the federal government has approved a new product: powdered booze, reports Gawker.

Even the company behind it, Palcohol, says the U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau's approval caught it off guard. The product is now expected to hit shelves in the fall, giving consumers six just-add-water options to choose from, including straight options like vodka and mixed offerings like Cosmopolitan.

Lehrman Beverage Law, which first reported the TTB's approval, is "absolutely astonished" that Palcohol was approved and says it "seems highly likely to raise a large number of legal issues and controversies."http://www.usatoday.com/

  4. The crepe place(Bistro on 5) has a $5 charge, and it is all you want to eat.

Gelato (on 5 deck) is a charge item, but there is no charge ice cream in the buffet area.

I think lattes are within the classic package. Most non alcholic coffee items are. I know the Americano is.

The pastries at Cafe al Bacio are also no charge and you do not have to make a purchase at the cafe to indulge and enjoy.

    love the carrot cake!

Enjoy your cruise. We love the Summit!

  5. And I believe that I have as well, but watching the little monkeys grooming one another and relishing the tiny nits they pick is so entertaining!
    LIKE!

The passengers have a contract with whatever cruise line;the passengers want to break the contract; the passengers must accept the consequences of breaking a contract. Just as the cruise line would have to accept consequences if they broke a contract.

(dead horse) Noro is not only contracted on cruises. ANY place where more than one person congregates is open to breed the virus. We know of the incidences on cruise ships entering US ports is because those ships have to report the incidences to the CDC.

Schools, Nursing homes, etc do not have to report outbreaks.

  6. Same thing happened on my first NCL cruise. It was at night, the person at Guest Services blamed me for storing the card near my phone...THREE times in less than one HOUR.

I assured her I didn't and wouldn't. During our fourth encounter, a maintenance guy was behind the counter fixing something, HE spoke up and said, "Want me to Check Batteries?" The guest service guy said, "I don't think it's the batteries."

The maintenance person replied, " I go with guest, I try."

The Guest Service guy gave a whatever look.

End? It was the batteries, the maintenance person got a tip, and I reported the incident to the Guest Service manager and the head of maintenance. I think that our pictures were hung up in the Service Area. We were warmly greeted by every service person on board and got a comp dinner in the specialty restaurant.

Lesson learned: Card won't open door? ask them to check the batteries!

  7. I understand completely. Since I have been on both sides of the needle ( I have collected the donations), I have learned to ask someone if a country that I have recently visited prohibits me from donating. I always ask the question: have you visited a country outside of the US in the last year? I cringe when someone says yes--Hawai'i!!!!

CJD (mad cow) is probably one of the scariest diseases.

  8. In regard to "mad cow disease", unless you are planning to spend loads of time in one of those countries:

Have lived or visited in the United Kingdom for three months or more cumulatively between 1980 and 1996.

Have spent five years or more in Europe (including the United Kingdom) cumulatively from 1980 to the present.

  9. What a great idea. :D I usually have "his" and "hers" bags - either socks or underwear - but I think I'll be changing that. I can put 1 days worth of socks and underwear for DH and I in each bag - perfect.

Do you label the bags Monday, Tuesday...? :D

  10. The absolutest most rude thing that I have ever seen/heard was during a trivia game. The hostess was from Peru and had an accent. Those of us who were regulars would joke with her about her pronunciation. The corrections became a running joke, she would pronounce a word with Spanish inflection, someone would give her a lesson in how 'mericans pronounciate the word. We all laughed so hard. Well, one day it was rainy and there was a crowd for the 11AM game. Hostess Spanish pronounced, a regular would edimaicate her. After a few questions, someone yelled out "Get somebody who can speak English, I can't understand the dam^ questions." You have never seen a room full of people turn on someone so quickly. The Hostess was stunned and got tears in her eyes, some of the women ran to comfort her, and a few of the gentleman went over and quietly suggested that the yeller leave. As he left, I gave him the keychain I had won earlier, remarking that the keychain was obviously worth a lot to him.

  11. U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Prescription medications should be in their original containers with the doctor's prescription printed on the container. It is advised that you travel with no more than personal use quantities, a rule of thumb is no more than a 90 day supply. If your medications or devices are not in their original containers, you must have a copy of your prescription with you or a letter from your doctor. A valid prescription or doctors note is required on all medication entering the U.S.

  12. Thanks to all for the tips, I have purchased two lime green exfoliating bath thingys (puffs) and I am sure we would be able to spot them instantly but, wonder if they could pose a problem size wise, as I wonder if they might catch on something . I may just go with some ribbon or duct tape as that seems to be the favorite of many.

We have those on our luggage. No Problems with catching, they squish. We used to use the duct tape, but someone walked off once with one of our cases, they had the same tape.So now we use the net things and the duct tape.

  13. I think that one passenger reported that Celebrity told them that the pax changed the room when the pax went to see if there was a rate change and clicked on another room number. The overmind viewed this as a request to change rooms.

  14. My board colleagues have given their opinions about The Summit ( which I consider my HOME ship),

I'm going to up another point: how are you getting to the NYC area? Look at the locations of the different ports and things like parking and ways to get around.

Read the different boards about East Coast departures and the pros and cons of leaving from Manhattan and leaving from Cape Liberty.

Whichever line you choose, you will love Bermuda.
