We pick our cabins on purpose to be near/behind the elevators! There's no noise and it is very convenient!
Same for us. We do hear noise from the Atrium in the evenings most nights but it's never been to bad.

Can you take the beers off the ship at Half Moon Cay?
Yes.

We usually cruise the end of January into February and i always come home with a good tan. :):)
Same here. Love getting away from the cold and snow and have always had great weather.

Just wondered if anyone has purchased the chill-out water/soda/beer package online thru Carnival? Was curious, specifically, about the size and quality of the cooler.
Does it fully enclose/zip with the beers in there? Does the melted ice eventually leak? Any/all info is appreciated.
We pre ordered one on our last cruise. Leaked terribly. Called GS and they replaced it and the replacement did not leak. They also let us keep the old one which we used as a tote. Kept 5-6 beers in it all the time. Steward refilled it with ice at least twice a day and placed it on a towel on the countertop. It did sweat a little. Zips up fully. Remember that the beers will not be cold when you get it. Also get an opener and 4 Carnival cups and 2 can coolies.

I've looked at these also and wondered if you could use them to take bottled water or sodas off the ship with this? For instance, on a port day being spent at a beach, this would be a good thing as we're traveling with our grandson. Just curious if you can take water and soda off the ship into port?
Yes.

Actually we have pretty much done everything we wanted to do. We did sail on our first 2.0 ship this past Feb and have been to all the ports that were on our "Bucket List", some more than once. We may spend more time on board on port days and enjoy the solitude.

It depends on how you plan on using the balcony. If you're like me and spend lots of time on the balcony relaxing, reading or just watching the world pass you by, then yes it is absolutely worth it.
If you're the type to spend all your time in the casino or by the pool lounging in the sun, then no, it wouldn't really be worth it.
So, in my opinion, it all depends on how much time you plan on spending in your room and on the balcony. If you're wanting to save money and spend lots of time out on deck, then an interior or ocean view is the way to go. If you want to have your private little area with an ocean breeze, views of sunrises and sunsets and a place to relax as you hear the crashing of the waves as the ship cuts through the ocean, then a balcony would definitely be for you.
For me, it is always worth the extra money to spend on the balcony cabins. Someone else will have an entirely different opinion on this, though.
Totally agree. Even on port intensive cruise's we have always enjoyed our balcony, have yet to sail without one.

there is no extra cost to anytime dining. As long as it is still available, it is an option, but you do have to book it. I love it, love the flexibility, and both times I tried it, loved it. no complaints.
We have done it since it became available and love it. You are on your own schedule as to when you want to eat. If you like your wait staff you can request their section every night when you show up.

Thanks. We were on her for the 12 day repo in Feb, for the third time. Agree with everything you said.

at Cozumel in feb., they had dogs sniffing out fruit!!:) they had bags full of fruit that they got from the cruisers!!:)
Saw that ourselves in Feb. Dogs were gone about noon (ships time)

Hi,
We are planning on using the Cheers program. I know we can use it at the bars. Can we use in the MDR, on deck, and in the theater?
Thanks.
Yes.

What rate did you book?

I don't recall ever seeing ours on the "Manage My Cruise" site. We did get email confirmations on them which we have always taken along in case there was any problems.

Question...I always thought that you were supposed to leave the detriments of your meal outside your door for pick-up. What are we supposed to do with it?
We call room service for pick up when we are done, or if in the morning take them up to Lido with us.
-
that's not true.
it can be, at the same prices as through bon voyage.
Actually Bon Voyage get's taxed. If you wait till you're at sea and call room service there is no tax.
-
This is me. I have everything in a folder ready to go and all I need to do is pull it out when we're doing our final packing. I have to reprint the OBC page if there's a price drop along the way, but that's no big deal.
Same here.

How did you tip?
Cash tips are not pooled. Anything on the receipt is pooled. Source: John Heald
Want to make sure the server/bartender gets the whole tip? Remove it from the slip and pay it all in cash.
Normal 15% on the slip plus cash.

Conquest (Freedom)
Spirit (Spirit and Miracle)

Don't waste your time. Those tips are pooled.
My Lido server said he got the tips when I asked on our last cruise, they were not pooled. I did not have Cheers. I did tip extra and seemed to get better service than others around me, never lacked a drink.

We've purchased twice now on the last night, both times were after 7PM ships time. Both times we took our purchase back to our cabin.

I prefer the stadium seating. I find the DReam class lido quite closed in, almost claustrophobic.
Same for us, we prefer stadium style seating. Better views of what is happening on Lido for everyone.

I sailed on 4 free cruises (inside cabin) from the casino last year. We upgraded and paid extra for a balcony. These cruises were via the letter from the casino on the last night. You must pay taxes and port fees with the free cruises.
Did you receive VIFP credits for those days?

No at non US ports. Cozumel authorities had food "sniffer" dogs at the port the last time we were there.
