  1. My son was 9 on our last cruise, we had two children kind of attach themselves to us one day at the pool, a 9yr old boy and his 6 yr old sister. After chatting a bit with them, discovered their parents left them on the ship alone while they went on Shore. Put the 9 yr old in charge of his sister. I was in shock. At that age my son was never out of either my or my husbands sight. Our next cruise is April and he will be 12. I think that if he is with other kids, I will give him some freedom, with appropriate rules and chk-ins. Will have to see how it works out once we get on the ship. I trust my son,,,, but too many strangers in one place can just lead to trouble. Why make it easy.

  2. And do keep an eye out for that refund. I cx a cruise 10 months before sailing. I, like a fool, just assumed that they had recredited the deposit to my card. I received an email in january stating that I had missed paying my balance by the due date. Luckily I had kept all of my tracking for the cancellation so I did not incur any fees.

  3. I, for one, and very happy about the Splendor coming to NYC. We actually cancelled our planned Disney Cruise and rebooked on the Splendor because after the fare and then adding to that the Airfare it would have been over double the cost of a longer trip on the Splendor. Now if we can just get something out of Boston that doesn't go North or to Bermuda it would fantastic!

    NYC here we come!

  4. Twice now my family and I have gone to the waterpark at Atlantis by paying for a room at the adjacent Comfort Suites. Originally my room cost was about $365, when booked about 8-9 mos in advance. This would give us the 3 tix I needed. By constantly checking room rates over time for both trips I only ended up paying about $210 for the room,,, breaking the wristband cost down to very managable compared to going thru the Cruiseline or Atlantis itself. I think the rooms are capable of sleeping up to 5 people, not that I've ever actually seen the inside of a room. We check in in the morning, pay for the room, get our wristbands and never go back. They didnt even question our no luggage so I think this happens pretty frequently. Less work for them.. Thsi plan has worked for me but does have to be done in advance and go guarentees.....I really feel Atlantis is worth it. Beautiful hotel and landscape, the water park is unbelievable, especially the river ride that goes completely around the park and the beach is great!
