We are thinking of taking an inside cabin on the 14th or 15th deck of the Ruby Princess. Has anyone stayed in those cabins?
-
We have never been on a Princess cruise, 13 other lines. What is Princess Cay private island like? How is the sand; do you need water shoes to go in the water. How crowded does it getet?
-
On sea days we prefer the upper deck overlooking the pool for the reason we can watch all the goings on including the belly flop contact. We have always found chairs on top. If you want to get up and walk around you are not climbing over people to get out of your chair.

A few questions going on the Ruby Princess.
1. On a seven day cruise how many formal nights are there.
2. What entertainment is on that ship?
3. Is there self serve laundry on the ship?

Which hotels have views of the ships leaving Port Everglades?

Keep the door locked at all times unless a parent is out on the balony

We have been on 9 RCCL cruises and planning to be on the IOS for New Years Eve. We may jump over to the Ruby Princess when we get back on the 3rd of January. Not being on a Princess cruise before can anyone give me a fair comparison?

International travel has always had its many rewards and very few times its downers. This does not stop me from traveling just a word of precaution for some. Americans sometimes expect everything to go perfectly on a vacation and sometimes; very few times it does not. For millions of cruisers it is still an amazing vacation.

I hope all of those that never got an upset GI system from drinking water or ice in Mexico that is great but for those who have gotten sick will never forget that feeling again. Half way through or 15 cruises and 8 to 10 stops on Mexico RCCL staring giving out bottled water as you left the ship for those who want it. Those who never get sick in a country other than the USA great; enjoy your trips.
-
If your ports include Mexico be aware that no matter what the locals tell you do not drink the water or have drinks with ice. If your GI system is prone to developing a sour system avoid getting sick by sticking to beer, bottled coke or bring bottled water from the ship. Some people can tolerate drinking water based drinks others can not. You do not want to be the "others that can not". Enjoy the Mexican ports for what they are but please come back to the ship well.

All good ideas

If you use MTD can you pick a different time every night and are you put with a group of strangers so you feel you do not have to dine alone?

Your first 4 suggestions make sense, but I'm not sure what the 5th one would accomplish. What would/should the wait staff person you report it to do about it? And why just children?
I agree adults could also pass germs to others. Wait staff could gently remind those sneezing or coughing to cover their mouths versus one of the passengers telling them. Cruise ships have a much higher concentration of people that most people encounter at work or at home. One sick person can ruin many others vacations by not taking simple precautions.

Returning Grandeur to Baltimore had over 100 people sickened with some type illness, not sure if it was norovirus.
RCCL and other cruise have being trying their best to prevent a similar outbreak on other ships.
Here are my tips for lessening the chances of getting sick.
1. Cruise ships should have to eliminate help yourself buffets. Crew members should be handing you the food. It is very temping to see large amounts of food and try something yourself.
2. Children under a certain age should never ever touch the buffet food; have the parent or older child get the food for them. I have seen children and some adults take some food form the buffet line taste it and put the half eaten food back on the trays.
3.Adults, do not stand at the buffet line and start eating the food there. It is rude and can pass germs to others.
4. Do not relay on those sanitizer stations. The best way is to wash your hands well before going into the Windjammer and wash your hands well after eating.
5. If you see children sneezing or coughing report it to the wait staff.

Only saw a 1 and a half minute preview of the show, looked interesting.
Thanks

I want to see if it is worth spending $58 per couple

Is there a video out there of the Illusionarium dinner show?
-
Is it worth the 58
-
What is the Illusionarium? What does it cost?

We booked the IOS for New Years Eve 2014 and was told only MTD was available. We have always dined lte 8:30 PM with a large table. I would be very disapointed if we have to use MTD. You rarely get to know your table mates.

Planning to go on the Getaway for the first time; what restaurant types are on the waterfront promenade?
-
The further back you go to the back of the ship the less people are there. It is a great place to read or get away from the noise of the pool area.
-
We have been on 13 RCCL and Carnival cruises. We are thinking of the NCL Getaway in January 2015. How about a quick review and more details on the Waterfront dining areas.

All the jokes about Cats are true. It's not a great show.
I don't see Les Miz as a good fit for a vacation. It's a real downer, and I think lighter, more upbeat shows would be better for a vacation venue.
Hairspray was a great choice, as is Mama Mia. Maybe La Cage, Priscilla, Kinky Boots, or something similar that is fun would work. It just has to have some good music and be fun.
Do really think a Broadway show like La Cage, Priscilla, and Kinky Boots would go over with a cruise ship crowd that wants to include older children? I do not think so.

In mexico we went to a local beach for the day. Not realizing we were running late would found out we had 10 minutes to get a cab and get back on the ship. The ship was 20minutes away. I told the driver to drive as fast as he can; making it to the pier just in time as the ship was about to leave.
