March 1/20...Still sitting in port although scheduled to sale at 4:00...anyone know why?

Thanks for the replies....seems it varies and will plan for DR lunch if hallways blocked...certainly not a big deal was just curious.

Haven’t been on Princess in a bit and couldn’t find any recent threads on this topic. One of the things we always enjoyed about Princess was having our cabin available at boarding. Is this no longer the case?

Didn’t notice the Happy Hour schedule.
During the week they were removing the little plastic “mailboxes” outside the stateroom doors and replacing them with a tablets that said “Ocean Medallion” coming soon and new stateroom numbers....so the stewards spent the rest of the week having to stuff all of the paperwork/flyers in the door handle.
As for dining room lunch, we had quite a lot with us as the staterooms have always been available before as soon as we embarked (I believe this is something Princess lists as a perk somewhere in their literature) and we didn’t plan to have to carry it all around the ship... and we were 9 floors away from the dining room and the elevators were crazy...
All of the doors were closed with signs not allowing passengers to enter.

We had a great week. We were on the Same ship in 2014 as well.
I was a little miffed that rooms were not ready at embarkation with all doors closed until 1:00 pm...not sure if this is a one time change or new policy...I did really like that about Princess..and we missed dining room lunch because of this.
Otherwise it was enjoyable...any questions?

I have $450OBC....all after final payment for July 7 cruise....your same room category must be available...as previously said...be nice but firm.....I got this over the course of a few weeks on 3 different price drops.

The crew seem to be directed to send you to the buffet on embarkation day...I was stopped several times on my way to the dining room and, very pleasantly, directed to the buffet. I just kept smiling and saying we were headed to the dining room...even at the door the asked me if I was looking for the buffet...but I persisted...love the dining room lunchon Day 1...quiet and not crowded!

0106...yes, you are in a different province and not anywhere near the Bay of Fundy.

Historic area with lots of shops and pubs, interesting buildings, city market, historic prks etc all within walking distance.

Elderly couple at the next table three nights in a row complained that the butter was too cold and each night the woman called over the head waiter to discuss that it should be room temperature. Fourth night they brought her butter that was room temperature but it was too soft and she insisted that they must have microwaved it because she could taste the difference...head waiter was called over again. As he turned to leave their table he stopped to ask us how we found our dinner. I said it was wonderful...especially the butter:)

We did the Balmoral Island Beach Day and really enjoyed it....three of our family of nine also did the dolphin encounter on Balmoral and then joined us at the beach. There were life jackets and my 75 year old mom did swim with the dolphins so it is not too strenuous...a beautiful day and not very crowded.

Actually, the ride in St. Thomas is a cable car and the one in St. Maarten is a ski lift type chair. You can go up and then down on a zip line or simply go both ways on the ski lift. The zip line is called the Flying Dutchman and the Sky Explorer is the name of the ski lift ride....so I am just trying to figure out which lift to do....no zip lining involved.

As a matter of fact, during many many travels, I am always at the carousel before the bags begin arriving.
And I think you could be nicer...
-
Or, someone could take your case off the baggage carousel at the airport without you realising and walk off with it. You seem OK with this process though. Or a baggage handler could steal from it, which is where a lot of thefts from suitcases occur.
A bold assumption...why the snarkiness?
It is just something I think about and wondered what others think....isn’t that the purpose of these boards? No need to be mean.

This kind of freaks me out. Not only the idea that anyone going by in the hall could take it but that they can also just walk up and take it once off the ship.
We did this once on our first cruise and we could have taken any bag we wanted in the terminal without anyone stopping us.
It also means that our baggage has been out of our control between packing it and presenting it at airport security.
We have always self disembarked since (and only ever have one bag each) and always been early getting off.
Cruise in July out of FLL and don’t need to be off early as our flight is not until 3:00....is there later self disembark?
-
Book the cruise early to get the cabin you want. Book flights with refundable air.
Then you can add EZ air later when you can see what flights they are proposing and if you don’t like them take your original flight?

Thanks...from Canada so no worries about health care cost.
We have been to Caribbean before but thinking we will get updated vaccines this time.
-
Wondering how many people get vaccinations for the Caribbean? Worried about Hepatitis.
Posted this under another board but should have posted here...my apologies.

We are headed to both St Thomas and St Maarten. Would like to take one of these but not sure which.
In St Thomas it is fairly close to the cruise port but possibly not as high as the one in St Maarten?
Any advice?

Thanks to all! I was reminded off many other things I love about Princess!

Sometimes it seems we get caught up in the negatives...what are some of the things you love about Princess?
For me it is...
Walks on the promenade deck after dinner
MUTS with a cozy blanket
Caribe deck balconies
Toasted PB & J from room service for a late night snack.

Princess needs to update this. It is on the main website but in cruise personalizer they still have this:
Unlimited Soda & More Package
Includes the Unlimited Soda Package plus any mocktails, juices, and hot chocolate throughout the cruise.
Confusing to new cruisers who would have no idea what the Ultimate Soda Package was.
