  1. Looking for some advice. Planning Whitepass Rail trip for a few train buffs.

Should we do the three hour round trip or go all the way to Carcross and take a bus back?

    Advice?

I am leaning toward roundtrip as I hate buses but the priority is train experience and scenery.

  2. I have to disagree. Last week on Splendor sea day brunch eggs were inedible and home fries too hard to cut let alone eat.Service was poor. Rotisserie although quieter with lots of seating was tasteless and fatty like a very cheap family restaurant.

Dining room had some very good meals and some not so good. Chilled soups were o.k. But hots soups were tepid. Many raved about a bacon mac & cheese side one night.

Some of the room service sandwiches were the freshest and best we had on board.

    Fruit was abundant and fresh.

Carnival offers good value for a family vacation with teens but don't sail her for the food!

Several of my family love the chocolate melting cake but I think it is like half cooked overly sweet batter! Ughhh!

Kids liked the pizza....but teen boys will eat almost anything and I didn't have it so can't comment.

  3. We were on Glory in 2012 just after 2.0 upgrades....underwhelming upgrades they were. However, my niece loved the candy store....is there candy for sale anywhere on the Splendor? Any details as to variety?

Otherwise, I think we will enjoy the live bands and food venues on this non 2.0 ship.

  4. Laws are laws and we do follow them rather religiously. Rules are not exactly the same are they.

I disagree....which is the great thing about message boards....everyone can have an opinion.

It is not the way we raise our family....only follow the rules you like and get away with whatever you can if you don't like the rule...it shows a fundamental lack of integrity and models that to your children and grandchildren.

It does effect others when they are surrounded by people with less than honest intent who, by their nature, will also try to circumvent other rules onboard.

Eventually when carnival follows some other lines and disallows all carry on drinks (wine and soda), it will affect us all and these same people will complain.

In reply to the original question. I haven't done it and I would encourage you not to try.

We will agree to disagree. Enjoy your cruise!

  5. Why in the world would this bother you? Next time your driving down the highway and see you are going 5 mph over speed limit will you turn yourself in to the police?

No....but I wouldn't plan to change the higway signs, trick the police, lie about it....and it doesn't "concern" me...it is just sad that so many people are so dishonest and look for ways to circumvent the rules and it seems to be a topic of conversation regularly more so on Carnival than on other boards.

  6. I agree. Whoever you spoke to at Carnival is wrong. Getting into your room early, preferred tenders, preferred disembark and dedicated line at pursor's desk are all FTTF benefits that would have nothing to do with your airport transfers.

It is most likely, as others have said, that you are too far out from your sail date. Are any of the other excursions available?

  7. Going on Splendor March 1...Family cruise....want to book pedicures for my Mom and her two grandaughters who all have Birthdays around cruise time. My question is: website will only allow me to book one person every 45 minutes. Will I be able to get them all to go together if I go up to Spa and arrange once on board? Is there any way to do that before we board?

Thanks for any insight as I have never accessed Spa services before.
