  1. Short review of our thoughts: 11 day repositioning cruise

    Likes:

    Guys Burgers

    Waiters, Room Stewards, Entire staff

CD Jamie, best we have ever known

Food in MDR and Specialty restaurants

    Hand washers

    No bacon sheriffs

Brunch was great with Steak/Eggs (Fillet)

    No buckets spotted

    Had fun on the trip

    Ports of call.

    Dislikes:

Lido food was ok at best. Chicken tenders every meal

Lido Carving Stations (Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Lamb) are gone.

    Staff size is to small

Sewer stench was terrible at times here and there.

Kids with diapers in the hot tubs

Non interactive TV. Had to call or go to guest services many times.

Smoke was really bad in the Casino.

Serenity deck clam shell's were hogged by the same people every day.

The theater is now the size of a dance club.

Milk Shakes were a waste of money.

We now know why Carnival will not rehab another ship trying to make it into something it shouldn't be.

    Overall rating: Ship only.

    Bottom of the list.

  2. Just returned from the 11 day repositioning cruise on the Sunshine.

The Lido Deck carving stations (Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, Leg of Lamb) are gone.

Asked the officer on the Lido and he related they have been eliminated.

99% of the hot food offerings are steam table buffet food (Old Country Buffet type). So much chicken... Chic Tenders every day. Varieties really lacking. Quality = average.

Best meal on cruise is on the Brunch menu. Steak and Eggs (Filet)

More of a short review later.

  3. I'm taking an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle. I booked a starboard balcony cabin. Will it matter on an Alaska cruise?

Sent from my HTC One using Forums mobile app

Nope, you will get a different view or sun coming and going. Back when we did the Southbound Alaska we had Port to see the coast all the way. You will never out guess the ship in port as they can put either side of the ship dockside.

Now days we only do wraps or aft extended so no difference to us.

  4. Another High-Jack...

I'm trying to decide whether to make reservations, but here's my question...

On the first night, the MDR is usually cruise casual because not everyone has their luggage at this time. We always have, but we've talked to a lot of people at dinner that didn't get their bags in time to change.

What is the dress code for that night?

    TIA :)

    Cruise Casual.

  5. We are on the Sunshine April 6. We had a Cocktail Party booked before the old price change 19.95 per person and the new price is 44.00 per person for two hours unlimited drinks. Have heard a lot of rumors that they are now limiting you to a couple types of drinks. Has anyone had one and any information would be great. Thanks

Been involved in these parties before and the pricing depends on the food provided. The base I believe for 2 hours is $20.00 for unlimited drinks (bar liquor)with dry snacks. Last trip we had pretzels and gold fish crackers. You can add nuts/hot and cold food like roll ups. Then the cost goes up fast pp. I suppose if you allow any liquor to be specified then you could double the pp cost. I will add the drinks were limited in type, most being foo foo mixed drinks. No shots or fancy blender drinks.

Yes we are on the same cruise with mid1950

  6. I haven't been able to access any excursion info for about 5 weeks. I've called twice. Nothing they can do. Guess I'll have to wait til I get on the ship to reserve anything. Missed the FTTF also.

Carnival told me it's a browser problem with Windows. Told me to try Firefox or Chrome. Neither worked. You might try that as they said they are trying to fix the problem. I have mine booked and just like to check if anything new.

Also check under Tools (in the File View Favorites Tools Help line of browser), then compatibility view settings and click add Carnival.com.
