  1. Evening 6

Our evening was even better than the day!! I enjoy the spa while Troy watches a movie and then watch sail away from the aft balcony. We go to Burn the Floor which is good, excellent dancing, but a bit of a whirlwind toward the end. I enjoy another Bushwacker through the show, they are just so nummy.

Dinner steals the show as we had the best dinner so far tonight. It is so good, and we've travelled a lot, that Troy easily places it in his top 50. They give us unlimited, which means 4 pieces each, of filet mignon. That's probably a pound each!!! It is even better than Cagneys which is stunning because that was delicious. I've again had far too much to eat as I also had salmon sushi, grilled pineapple, cheese bread, asparagus, sausage, and mashed potatoes. We skip desert for the first time.

Troy is off at the casino while I recover.

Again, music is way too loud and the DJ is even worse. I can barely hear the TV. This is my biggest complaint. Everything else is pretty awesome and can be worked around if not.

Where did you dine to get unlimited filet mignon?

  2. gpb: agree totally w/you re: OSheehans (wife mentioned the blender several times & u had to wait a LONG time for service, to eat.)

Also agree w/you re: logistical problems. Bars would run out of stuff & then have it the next day. Obviously, the "stuff" was located somewhere! Also saw the forklifts running constantly before we sailed. Also agree it was whoever was in charge....they either need a LOT of training or move to another position!

Again, it was still a cruise - food was good to superb - shore excursions were good/great.

I simply dislike hearing excuses from the crew....tell me the facts!

  3. I agree with GPB for the most part. This was our first cruise that came after a Repo....we should have researched more! And, cruising is so oriented toward individual perceptions. Wish we'd had your Cabin steward!

I usually carry a small pad & pen to jot down names, etc., almost always of "above and beyond" service and did so on this cruise. Have 8 individual names & several groups/venues that we thought were great! Will definitely include them on the survey we get. And, we WILL sail w/NCL again.

Looking back, it's amazing how just one (or a few) "Aw S**t"s can wipe out a LOT of "Atta Boy/Girl"s.

  4. Was also on this cruise....NOT a Suite person! Was our 12th NCL cruise (Platinum). The WORST service in 22 total cruises! Food ran the gamut from OK to superb. Service slow.

I'll also add that the 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar ran out of margarita mix; ALL bars (top to bottom - think 7 or 8 total??? All are not open at the same times) ran out of Bud Lite!!!! Huh? Also ran out of Bloody Mary mix!!! Magically, some of the above would appear at the same bars later in the evening or the next (early) day, & then disappear again! Bartenders (alleged) didn't know how to make drinks without the "mix!"

Agree also w/cabin stewards....ours was NEVER there prior to 1:30 PM or so. So, think about it....u take a shower, go ashore (w/your "pool towel") and come back & room isn't clean....so, no new towels (with sweat, sunscreen, etc.) NO PERSONNEL in the hallway! People would go end-to-end & several decks above/below & take towels from unattended carts in order to take a shower! Happened EVERY DAY!

All I heard was excuses..sorry, I spent 20+ in the military & was not impressed. For all of u who were NOT there, please give us who WERE there a break. Thanx!

  5. Haven't seen anything new for Europe next Fall/Winter yet. Hopefully by tomorrow. We simply can't cruise for 2-3 weeks in Europe before next Fall, period. So, if nothing comes up, we'll get our $ back.....only NCL cruises I'd consider after that would be 3 "local" ones, in order to use our $250 "Future Cruise Rewards" we have....then, never again.

Agree that we need to be civil w/each other. Don't think there's been anything "bad" so far, just frustration w/NCL that we don't have any other way to "vent".....it would be a "hoot" to have a "live" forum like this w/a few NCL reps, especially if they actually had the power to change things! Joe

  6. When I spoke w/NCL, she said the new itineraries will be out by Wed at the latest & we (people who had cruises cancelled) would get "first crack" at them. Said to "keep checking," as they may come out today or tomorrow. Rest of public can look at, but supposedly not be able to book until the 24th.

Glad u got the Jade at a better deal. We had a BTB on the Epic (10 day and an 11 day) & the only thing available today was a 10 day (same itinerary) and a 12 day (added Valencia, Spain to the 11 day we had booked) and NCL refused to transfer, even after I offered to pay for the extra day. VERY disappointed in NCL.

    Keep us posted! Thanx! Joe

  7. Everyone please keep us posted next week, as to what "offers" YOUR NCL rep offered when u contacted them.

We had a BTB (West & East Med) on the Epic for Nov/Dec 2016. Our Rep said they won't know anything until this week-end & can't "do anything" for most folks until Monday at the earliest.

We booked for the UDP & the UBP & a BTB so we'd only have 1 airfare. Very disappointed in NCL. Have a bunch of cruises booked on Carnival....wish NCL had a John Heald! Joe

  8. Forgot....since it's our first time in Charleston, would it be worth it to come up a day early? (I know, it's Halloween!) It takes approx. 7 hours to drive from home.

If so, why? e.g., "Joe, u HAVE to see xxxx or go to xxxxx." If YOU only had one day in Charleston, where would u go & why?

    Thanx! Joe
