  1. After reading through all of the posts, didn't I tell you that you would get a lecture and called names? All you asked for was if you could remove the tips the last day, and bang, you get lectured by very judgmental people.

No one likes a told you so either, even if it is obvious to a blind man what is coming:p

  2. Hi all,

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon last summer on the Summit and I ordered this celebration package. I booked it online prior to boarding so I'm not sure it can be arranged once on board. Generally, flowers have to be ordered several days before sailing so I'm guessing this has to be pre-ordered.

I had the same question about the specialty dining reservations...was I just paying to be sure to have a reservation?? No, the package actually gives you two dinners, fully paid for two people at any specialty of your choice. We made reservations once on board.

As for the champagne...I still have the bottle in my fridge because we just never drank it and decided to save it for another special occasion! The label on ours reads Dom Perignon Vintage 2004 Brut with a star in the middle of the label. At the top of the label it says Dom Pergnon Millesime Altum Villare. On the back label it says that it was imported by Moet Henneessy, USA, INC. NY, NY. I'm not sure what, if anything any of that means but maybe it's helpful for those more in the champagne know than myself!

I thought it was a great deal and I hope if you purchase it you will enjoy it as well!

Yes thank you for the confirmation, I think that seals the deal for me too.

  3. Where you able to unload your luggage with porters at 5:30 am? I would have thought that porters are busy helping disembarking passengers until 9:30 or so.

By the time we got into the actual port and parked up etc it was a bit later than that probably 6.30 am or even a bit later but we were able to get rid of our bags and just had to hang around a bit until they got organized and ready for us. Then obviously we had to wait til boarding opened but we were one of the first on.

It is not what I would do every time it was just an actual experience of what happened when we turned up earlier than we had planned rather than what people may or may not do who have never been in that position or dismiss it as a "Bad idea".;)

  4. I know this has been asked in the past, a trillion times probably but I am looking for something up to date.

I am looking for a Miami hotel with park and sail offers, we have stayed in a few hotels in Miami on vacation so know it reasonably well but we need a park and sail with shuttle to the port, they don't seem to shuttle you back for some reason so don't want to be too far from the port and have to spend $$$$$ on a cab to get back to the hotel to get our car.

I have found some places on line all circa $200-250 so I am OK with that, but wondered if anyone had a recent recommendation please?

  5. I would just head over to the port and go from there. We arrived once for a private sailing and after driving through the night we arrived at something like 4.30 am and the actual port wasn't open so we just parked up opposite Bayshore and waited, it opened about an hour after that, so you would be OK time wise on that front.

  6. That's poor, Cosmos and Brandy Alexander are two of my favourite tipples, the former being 101 when it comes to Martinis.

It is one drink every bartender should be able to do with their eyes shut, standing on their head, with both arms tied behind their back, well you get the picture:D

  7. I don't mind the PJ (as a sort of run of the mill end I prefer Bollinger) but I suspect you will like the DP:D

I'm debating whether to book this package for our next one as we have a special occasion onboard too, but I wanted to confirm and pick the restaurant of my choice which I presume you can do as it wouldn't let me choose when I tried to book it online?

  8. Are you kidding me???? Why all the hate on Disney? I have sailed Disney 5 times with my once girlfriend and now fiancé. Disney is the cruise line on the top of our list. The shows are hands down awesome, I don't even bother with shows on other lines. Castaway cay is the best cruise line island their is and my favorite destination over all. Remy and Palo are unbelievable.

The adult area is great as well, personally we never notice the kids more than any other line.

    You gotta try it!!!!!!

Got to ask, how come you got Disney cc status platinum with just 5 cruises?

  9. I have many real, high end designer purses (the usual suspects LV, Gucci etc), and I don't buy them to feel important or better, I had a good career which enabled me to have plenty of disposable income and I like nice things, my things of choice were bags, shoes and clothes. Well it is the fashion and beauty section afterall so that is why we are here:D

What bothers me more about the knocks offs now is, apart from all the things mentioned above, it funds terrorism at the route of it all, the very thing we are trying to keep off our doorstep.

I lived in HK for a few years and the knock offs were rife and just about everywhere and it was all run by the Triads.

I once had a discussion with a young member of staff who said to me I would rather have a knock of and $1,000 inside the purse but lets face it you are more likely to have $1000 in your purse if you have the real thing, but I digress.

It is entirely up to the individual but I wouldn't fancy bringing in an obviously new fake bag through customs these days.

Although not necessarily the luxury end some might want, you can get Michael Cors, DKNY, Calvin Klein and sometime Coach in the likes of Marshalls and even Ross for not a huge amount of money.

  10. It is funny to me how people "suggest" they know the "best way to cruise for others!.

We are "el cheapo" cruisers...usually we book balconies, but next trip is just ocean view. (I would bet we got our elite plus status for the cheapest...or at least very close to that...in Celebrity history)

I would rather take more cruises in lesser cost cabins than other way around.

I could call people "crazy" to pay for a suite (I can cruise 4 or 5 times on 7 day cruises for same cost)...but I don't call them that...to each their own!

I don't think anyone is suggesting how others should cruise it is just their preference.

I must have a balcony and won't book gty either as I like to know where I am going to be. Next trip is in CC as I like the locations more than any of the other perks apart from MDR lunch on embark.

As you say each to their own.

  11. Claudia,

Computers are funny things. My message comes out the same type as yours. I did cut and paste from a Word document. It looks like some people's computers don't like it.

    Bill

When you cut and paste from something created in a word document there is sometimes trouble with formatting. There is an option to change it.

I didn't want to sound snarly either so didn't post it before but it's really hard to read it all in one big paragraph, would you mind sticking in a couple line feeds if that is OK with you.

Hope you are enjoying it all.

  12. When I first researched Qsine I found a review with pictures on an online site/blog and it was an elderly couple, looked well to do, and they ordered and ate the whole menu!

4/5 dishes (with a couple of the meant for two people) is probably enough for us but may try a couple of smaller portions of something else but like others, no sliders, the crispy things dish, tacos or meatballs, we can get those anywhere.

  13. It never ceases to amaze me at how vitriolic people can be towards other posters, in this case towards the OP. It's pretty obvious that she was not in the Martini bar during its opening hours and she has a right to be concerned about how her children are looked after.

Yes now it is obvious it wasn't when she initially posted, she responded to all the comments later on confirming this.

Life is too short and they should now just be enjoying themselves from here on in, on the cruise, kids pick up on all these things too.

This thread will be locked in due course, so I am out!

  14. Whilst I can understand some your frustrations with the fun club, although reading through it you seem to be letting it spoil your trip which the constant haranguing of the staff.

The Martini and Sky Lounge are definitely not the place for your children to be playing with lego.

I am not a Ogre or child hating but if these bars are open at the time, for adults to relax and have a drink preferably it should be without children playing or even in there at all.

Call me old fashioned (I am still in my 40s) but children don't belong around a bar/drinking environment.

I am sorry to say I also think there was an agenda (selfish one) choosing these places to sit and let your children play.

  15. We are so sorry to hear about this incident that has occurred on your sailing. We have contacted the Celebrity Summit team and they have confirmed that our security department has found the items this morning. A crew member will be reaching out to you directly to return your son's belongings.

We hope you enjoy the remainder of your sailing!

    Result!

  16. We just canceled our Chase Disney Card after having it for several years .

It was free , got us $200 credit after first few months and a $50 OBC

on a DCL cruise or two plus minor benefit at WDW resturants and shops.

However the fact that only returns 1% even on Disney purchases , it just has run its course .

Many other cards have better rewards % and we won't use any card that has an annual fee.

Yeah, we have the premier one and I am starting to think the same thing, especially since our last and next cruise is not with DCL.
