  1. Nowadays I carry a purse to match whatever I am wearing each day, so I have every colour under the sun purse in my walk in. For some reason I get comments every day about my bag or shoes.

I just use one of those insert pouches, forget what you call them, that you transfer between each bag and then add my electronics etc.

I used to carry the same, nice biggish classic LV for donkies but it didn't go with all the nice colours but more importantly didn't match any shoes as I don't like brown shoes so put that away for a while.

Good luck with the search for the perfect bag!

  2. I thought I would avoid this one being a shoeaholic and trying to cure my addiction (yeah right) but I have been drawn in!

Currently have circa 300 pairs of shoes/sandals and trying to decide which ones to take on next cruise (14 nights). I did part with a load a couple years back but the numbers have crept up and up, same with bags and fancy frocks! Roll on retirement (20 years to go) when I can take a WC and wear them all!

I love shoes that are slightly funky and spied some Irregular Choice earlier in the thread, love those! I love bling too but I have a lot of classics too Chanel/Dior/Prada/Gucci/YSL/LV etc.

I sometimes take a separate case for my shoes and bags, luckily we drive to the port.

I took 13 pairs for 4 days in Porta Banus

22 Pairs on last 7 day cruise (Carib)

Trying really hard to narrow it down this next 14 night trip. Probably going to fail.

    Do I qualify?

  3. Shellac shouldn't crack if it is being applied correctly. I know I go on and on about this but as a CND trained tech I know there are literally hundreds of places out there not applying it correctly, buffing the nails blah blah. In the 6+ years I have been using Shellac on my clients I have only had one that couldn't take to it and between her medication and her picking it we moved over to Vinylux.

However if you have paper thin nails many CND Shellac trained techs will use a product called Brisa smoothing gel which gives the nail a bit of strength and then apply the Shellac on top. (This is not be be confused with Brisa sculpting gel which is used to build enhancements).

Shellac is actually kinder to the natural nail than the OPI version and every other product on the market including OPI brought their version of the product out to try to stop the flood of CND Shellac which took the nail world by storm when released. To this day it is the only one of it's kind and is not a gel polish per se. You have to file down/rough up the nail bed nail with a nail file to take the shine off for all of these other gel polishes (which makes the nails thin) but not Shellac, and the removal of Shellac is super easy. I always know when someone comes in to the spa and says yes it is Shellac and when it takes us a while to get it off we know for sure it is not Shellac!

Vinylux is a good product if you just want a regular polish, the technology behind it is basically it hardens as the week goes on making it more robust, hence the name weekly polish. It was brought out for people that didn't want to keep the Shellac on for so long.

  4. Each to their own, but when I read that board I find it is full of opinionated people trying to one up each other on how much they know, and a lot of cheerleadering. The downsides and criticism of DCL are very rarely mentioned or allowed to be mentioned as the owner is a Disney fanatic.

I do think (know) there is way more content on the on other one, but most of the subject matter experts on here, like yourself, tend to know what they are taking about and it is not pixie dust this and pixie dust that every other post.

  5. 1. Look for my perfect itinerary, I get free reign to choose

    2. Must be from Florida, no flights involved!

    3. Find a price/deal I like/can live with

    4. Find dates we can go, normally book within 3 months of the cruise (not retired but pretty flexible for last minute plans)

    5. Research perfect stateroom (if a new line)

    6. Book it

    7. Start planning, update spreadsheets and researching, pack way too much, way too early

    8. Buy everything we need (and more) and add it to the cruise room collection

    9. Drive to whichever port (5 to choose from), embark, eat like crazy, drink more than we do all year for next 2 weeks, and relax

    10. Come home, lots of laundry and start thinking where we shall go next time

  6. I also have everything I need on the one drive, smallest I would use is my tablet before my phone though, but next cruise is long with "fast" wifi included so I am am using my laptop, (no hardship carrying it as drive to the port).

Saying all that I still have one of those thin insert folders you get for presentations, with the important stuff I need to hand, just in case!

  7. Double dips refers to 2 stops at Castaway Cay normally.

  8. We are flying blind on our first Real Adult™ vacation (yay recent college grads!) so someone please tell me if this is a feasible plan.

... Wake up the following morning and head out maybe 11am and drive the remaining 2 hours to Orlando with hopefully time to spare.

I don't want to leave unnecessarily early, but I would much rather be two hours early than one minute late, and I'm not familiar with traffic in and around Orlando so I want to play it safe.

This is definitely not enough time to get there comfortably, I too would be leaving a couple hours before that.

  9. Ah, yes, I forgot that an internet retailer is sets the definition ;)

I agree with the other posters, in general a flip flop is what the OP describes something you wear to the pool or beach and generally made of rubber or plastic.

A sandal along these lines I suppose you could call a thong sandal but in English or British English, the only one that counts:D a flip flop is not a sandal.

A thong sandal would probably look fine in the MDR but certainly not a flip flop IMO.

  10. Well me On vacation don't like to wear the same clothes twice.[emoji16]

This is where I like to dress up every night ... I'm a over packer like to bring a lot of stuff just in case I need it....

    This is us!!

my hubby and I been cruising since 1987 and 23 cruises.... And always bring back clothes I didn't wear..... [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Me neither. And not that it matters one hoot to anyone but I will notice someone wearing the same dress 3 nights:eek:

I have 3 cases out for our next cruise and that is just for me! There will be things in there I won't wear but if I burst a zip of tear something or snap a heel I have reserves:D I had 21 pairs of footware for a week last cruise but that is for a different forum!!

Traveling light or with just carry on fills me with horror:D:D:D
