To my knowledge cruises in Australian waters don't do the Happy Hour-I sailed on the Golden Princess 11/11/2016 and no Happy Hour but I did have the Platinum/Elite/Suite function in Skywalkers Bar. Missed the Friday, attended the Saturday and Bass Strait was getting a little rough so I decided to stay on the lower decks, I didn't like the swaying feeling up so high. Didn't actually get seasick but took no chances. The Focaccia and Smoked Salmon was delicious!
I have seen it mentioned for a New Zealand Cruise of 14 nights IIRC sailing from Melbourne. HTH.
I have been on cruises in Australia where they have happy hour - once on the Sun Princess to North QLD and the other on the Diamond Princess to Fiji. There seems to be no consistency with their policy even here within Australia.

Went on a 7 night cruise last month on the Sea Princess and no happy hour at all - when I asked was told it was only for cruises of more than 7 nights. Can anyone tell me if this applies right across Princess ships worldwide, or just here in Australia?

Very last minute but extremely good price considering it also includes gratuities.
If you love CRUISING and want TO GO - be quick.

The cruise planner has a list of the shows that can be booked in.
Live Love Legs.
Pixels and
The Dream
What date is your cruise on Ovation as I am on 9 February cruise and can't book any shows yet.

On reading about this I see that it is weather dependent. Can anyone tell me if you are able to book this more than once. Was thinking of making a couple of bookings a few days apart so I don't miss out. If the weather is fine on the first day, then I can just cancel the second one, and if not, I have the second booking as a back up.

Going on Ovation of the Seas when she comes to Australia in February. So as I understand it, you have to book the entertainment ahead of time. Is this the production shows in the theatre? Do you miss out if you don't book? Also, do you have to book things like Northstar too? Thanks so much.

When we were there last year we used ABC Car Rentals - they will have the car waiting just outside the wharf gates.

This is a poem someone sent me about cruising. Don't know who the writer was but credit to them.
Twas the night before Cruising, when all through the house
Excitement was mounting, even the spouse
The suitcases were packed by the door with care
In hopes that the morning would soon be here
The husband was nestled all snug in his bed
With visions of cocktails dancing in his head
And me in my nightie, checking my swimmers and hats
Had just printed our passes for the quick morning dash
Driving to the port, so lively and quick
I knew in a moment we'd be seeing the ship
The heart skipped a beat when it came into view
Our Princess cruise ship - oh how I love you
We sprang to the queue, to get our room key with glee
And we danced to the boarding gate like birds flying free
Then we head for a photo, with a smile so sweetly
"Welcome Back to Princess", let's escape completely

Ovation is coming to Australia and I have booked an 8-night cruise for February 2017. Really looking forward to it having only been on Radiance of the Seas and Viking Serenade so want to experience all Ovation has to offer. I thought I read somewhere that you can pre-book entertainment and shows on the website and also things like Northstar. Can someone let me know if this is the case as have looked in the personaliser and nothing is showing up in this regard. Also, have been given My Time Dining - do you need to book ahead or not? Can you just show up when you want to eat or does the huge size of the ship mean you might wait quite a while for a table? Any advice would be appreciated.

When we've cruised to NZ there have been people selling tours at the various ports when you get off the ship. Has anyone who has been to Adelaide by cruise ship noticed if tours can be purchased at the dock?

Was on the Sun Princess in June and they have the new beds. They were so comfortable as were the pillows - one of our group wanted to take one home and even asked if she could buy one.

Can anyone answer this for me - is the soda and more package on Princess available for cruises of 7 nights, or does it have to be for 8 nights or more like the AIBP? Thanks.

Thank you datone for posting this bargain. I would never have found it. It will be interesting to see how long Princess run that special for. I booked it today and even found a better deal by booking through a big Australian airline website: Balcony single for $897.03 incl tax/port with a bonus $75 OBC.
Glad someone could take advantage of it. Enjoy your cruise.

I'm disgusted that the Replenish Package was 29.26 AUD per day and is now over 40 AUD per day with no added benefit. I was struggling to justify it at 29.26 I'm definitely not buying it at 40!

Totally agree. $40.80 AUD per day is expensive. Had been considering it also for my Ovation cruise but not now. I'm going on a 7 night Princess cruise in December and will get the unlimited soda and more package at $8.69 AUD per day which includes orange juice, unlimited soda, hot chocolate and mocktails and will add a coffee card ($45 for 15 specialty coffees) to that so works out at $105 or $15 per day - a much more reasonable option.

When we boarded Aurora in Sydney earlier this year, it wasn't departing until the next evening and we were able to come and go as we pleased.

Just booked
Arcadia 3 nights Sydney to Brisbane 19 February 2017

Has anyone been in either of these cabins. Just trying to get an idea of how obstructed the view is as they have the benefit of larger balconies. Any comments appreciated.

Does anyone know the closest car rental place to where the ships dock in Adelaide. Google has not been particularly helpful so thought someone who has been there before or a local might be able to help. Thank you.

E-Tickets and cabin allocations
in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Posted
We embark Arcadia on 19 February and booked a guarantee cabin. Not allocated yet and I know it can be anytime up until sailing but we leave home in 2 days time as we are going somewhere else first. I am unable to print off e-tickets and luggage labels because the cabin has not been allocated and I will not be in a position to print them off once I leave home. I book guarantee cabins quite a lot and have not struck this with any other cruise lines. What do others do in this situation?
