Not terrible. Just make sure you check at midnight when it opens up for you. If you don't get it just keep checking throughout the day before your cruise.
We didn't sign up at midnight and then I was told that grandma wanted to take her grand child. After a couple days we were able to snag a spot.

Just look up what movies came to theaters recently. Most of them will be onboard.
-
I love seeing the people who don't care at all. They just walk right through them.
-
I will be on the getaway in December. I hope this stays true.
-
I also have the UDP and sale in December. I should have saved those terms and conditions.
-
As long as you have the old UDP or you are willing to pay the full cover charge for your dessert. With the SDP, it should count as a meal.
I have the UDP.

Anyone ever ask their butler to bring them a different dessert from the specialty restaurants every night?
-
I have the dining plan. I wonder if I can ask for a dessert from the specialty restaurants every day with my snacks.

Thanks for the review! Just one question, did Cagney's go al la carte on 10/3? Am I mixing getaways with another ship? If so, what was the pricing structure? Thanks again!

Cagney's is not supposed to go al a carte until January.

another sneaky price increase by Norwegian. Is anyone surprised?
-
Where did you read that? Beers are around $6, $7 with tip. Here are some photos of the temporary bar menu introduced last March, when they raised all the prices. (The prices have stayed the same since then, as far as I know.)
Is that still the menu all over or did they bring back the old menus with updated prices?
-
Are you sure it wasn't $17.70 per person? That is the rate if you were charged a $15 upcharge plus 18% gratuity, which are the terms of the SDP. If it was $17.70, then they booked you under SDP terms and not former UDP terms.
I have the UDP and it still says $17.70 for my december 13th cruise. Someone else cruising with me who does not have the UDP has it say A La Carte. I know I have the UDP over the SDP because I booked my it in March.

The NCL site says January 1st for all the other places besides Ocean Blue

Do you happen to be in a Haven room? I am sailing on the Getaway in December. I have the UDP and I a in a Haven suite plus I have a bunch of none Haven non UDP guess coming. I was planning on having the butler bring us something from a different restaurant every night so we could try that and then do whatever the rest of our party wanted to do. My main concern is not trying all the desserts.
-
Yes, to the upcharge menu on Getaway. My dh had a root beer float at lunch, $3.50ish. :)
Heather
I thought they didn't have any rootbeer on the ship.

If in doubt, blame FDR.
I often have people coming and going from my cabin, doesn't really matter what grade it is. I don't think the OP wanted a full scale catered rave in their spa suite. You can just ask the butler for what you want, and always order from the room service if you have people hanging out. Bring two or more plates of fruit, canapes, cookies is well within their reach.
Finally someone who understands! :)

You can make a standing order with you butler. Just tell him everyday, when he brings the hors d'ouerves, to please also bring ____________ fill in the blank with whatever you want him to bring. Cookies, sandwiches, buffalo wings, you name it, they have it.
The Spa Suite is not all that large. It is good for maybe 4 - 5 people max due to the lack of seating. 3 could fit on the sofa and one on the chair and then you and your new spouse could sit on the bed, I suppose. But some of the spa suites don't have the sofa, just 2 chairs! Some also have a support pole kind of in the middle of the room. Alternatively you might consider upgrading to one of The Haven Aft Facing Penthouses with Master bedroom then just buy spa passes for the duration of the cruise - you can purchase these online. The Aft Facing Penthouse would be better for visitors as it has a living room and a powder room, then a separate bedroom with a luxury bathroom with separate shower and tub - it's very nice!
I liked the penthouse better, but my fiancee really wanted the hot tub and like a good future husband that means we got the hot tub.

I don't think we will be having any parties. But we are the only experienced cruisers going and I imagine we will have a couple people coming by every so often. Not a big group of 10 showing up at once.
-
I guess I will not try my new stand up material on you guys. Clearly you don't find anything funny.
I don't really want to have a party in my room, but we will be having our beloved guests visiting our room often. During their visit which we will truly cherish and be honored with their presence, they will probably swipe some of our snacks. As we love them so we do not want to have to say hands off my cookies. That is why I wanted to inquire with my most skilled butler about maybe having more snacks.

I am getting married on the Getaway in December. My fiancee and I booked a Haven Spa room. Several of our family members booked the balcony rooms right down the hall from us.
Lots of them will be visiting our cabin. Anyone have any experience telling their butler about this and having them bring extra snacks?
I thought about giving him a tip when we got on and saying we were going to have a bunch of free loading family visiting us and seeing if that helped.

Yep, all 3 minutes and 58 seconds of fireworks are what many book for! Really? There may be many things that can make or break a cruise, less than 4 minutes of fireworks is not one of them for me.
It always amazes me how many will post and say that NCL should not change anything for people that are already booked. When bookings are over two years out, no change could ever take place. Folks should go and look at the CC postings for the other cruise lines. Same kind of grumbling on them too. Never going to make everyone happy.
Fire works are not why people cruise. However it may be what made someone choose NCL over another cruise line. Plus it is one of many unexpected changes that effect lots of people who can no longer choose a new cruise.
-
The problem is not that they are making changes. It is how they are making changes. They really need to hire someone to handle their PR a little better. I assume they fired the PR guy as a cost cutting measure.

I am getting married on the Getaway in December. My fiancee going to pretend they were setting off fireworks for her wedding. It is what made her want NCL over Carnival. She is super disappointed. I wish they didn't have lots of no refundable money from us already.
-
Our wedding will be on NCL and we will have at least 50-75 non sailing guests.
I am now considering doing online RSVPs with a note explaining everything in with the invitation.
Movies on the Magic this summer?

I don't think they show 20th Century movies.
