  1. And I wonder why customer service is nonexistent today.....because companies must deal with a society of complainers !!! If she has a problem, it's because either SHE misunderstood OR her TA misrepresented the facts.....either way, the OP seems upset with princess for doing EXACTLY what she booked.

So the next time your in a line, getting COMPLETELY dismissed by a company....blame it on the MANY people there before you....complaining about NOTHING, and expecting to get FREEBIES, for complaining on social media.

  2. And, then there's the people who wash their hands and then somewhere along the buffet line they lick their fingers before grabbing a serving utensil.

lmao,I see you've cruised with them also :) there was a princess thread recently all about bad behavior.... I had a real doozy to share but unfortunately it was on a ncl ship

  3. I for one, think making everyone entering the buffet area wash their hands is WONDERFUL :) come on people, we stand in long lines for the food.... can't we stand in line for healthy, sanitary reasons. I for one would stand in a HUGE line to wash our hands, to know that the ' NOT so clean' person, that just blow their nose, doesn't go straight for the serving utensils.

  4. Hello! I am booked for the Regal in a standard balcony, category BD. I've been watching prices and available cabins and asked my TA about upsell or upgrade opportunities. She checked with Princess and they can get me into a deluxe balcony, DB. They're calling it a complimentary upgrade because they're won't be an additional out of pocket charge. But I'd lose the 50th anniversary offer of $100 OBC and specialty dining. So it would effectively cost $150.

I know this is subjective but since this is my first time on Princess, I thought I'd check with the experts for opinions/advice.

Well my opinion is this.... I am also new to princess and contemplated this very thing....although I am a relatively small lady, I am also very claustrophobic and feel like most cabins on most lines have WAY to much furniture, I'd prefer the space, so when I watched a video of a regal, regular balcony...I knew it was for me, I've never really sat on other cruise line couches but loved the thought of the space, PLUS the plugs are near the head if the bed in the Regular balcony video, bonus for me and my whitenoise machine.

  5. I am getting this info from another thread BUT someone listed (and I mean a list of hundreds ) all drinks and brands of liquor.....and under her rum section, there are 8 rums ....no Capitan Morgan sry.....and sry I can't post a link...not that savvy :)

  6. I want to book a cruise for this November, because of work I'm only 50% sure I can go. I have Absolutely No experience with travel insurance. Because of that I ONLY feel comfortable with purchasing insurance thru princess and WILL NOT be using a TA. My questions are

    1) the platinum(cancel for any reason).... are the steps rather straightforward in submitting a claim (i.e. call princess, call Aon, done)?

    2) because I'd be canceling for a NON covered reason , I would only get a "store" credit.....can I put those funds toward payment of a already booked Dec 2016 cruise OR are funds only applicable to NEW bookings?

    3) can I cancel trip/start claim, as late the day before sailing?

    4) I had heard you must use funds with a year, my cruise in 2016 in MORE than 1 year after cancellation.....Do they mean use funds within a year (make payment) OR travel within a year???

    Thank you any feedback :)

  7. I have ALWAYS paid less with a TA! Sometime just a little with some OBC and some a big difference! I have tried getting the cruise line to match the online TA and they will not. If you have insurance, it doesn't matter if you used a TA to book...the insurance is a separate issue. At least, this has been our experience.

Ty :) will try TA :)

  8. I'm not surprised. There are a lot of cabin categories between an inside GTY and a balcony. Your best bet is to find a TA who specializes in Princess cruises, books a lot of them, and discounts fares. You can save 10-20%.

Dear Pam, I have a question for you. I have a cruise booked from late next year which I wouldn't want to mess with , I received the aibp free. But my question is about booking for this Nov. I have NEVER booked with TA but considering because of possibly having to cancel > I understand from some the threads the insurance claim is easier to navigate through a TA. But your above comment made me wonder if a discount is always OR just possible? It seems counterintuitive that the TA gets paid thru cruise lines and can book cruise cheaper than me booking direct thru cruise line.

  9. I normally would NEVER contemplate a holiday cruise because of the huge influx of children. But I'm wondering....there is a royal princess Nov 20-30 2015 cruise, because it's 10 days and does not conform to school closures

Do you think there would still be an abnormally large amount of children? As I wouldn't want to tarnish my 1st impression of princess with a bunch of added children.

Thank you for any friendly feedback.(no I don't hate kids just don't want to vacation with lots of them )

  10. Well, you could say that we are new to cruising as we have only sailed 4 times with 1 scheduled for this coming October.

When we decided to book our 1st cruise to Alaska, I began searching and quickly discovered that Princess was the most highly recommended cruise line for my demographics. We had just retired with no kids around so it was a fairly easy decision. Now we are Platinum as a result of taking advantage of Up-Sells on 3 succeeding cruises and loving every minute of it.

After our first cruise, we were hooked. The crew, the ships, the destinations, the price, etc. etc. We do not go on vacations during the summer months because we raised our children and do not feel the need to subject ourselves to other peoples children. So we vacation or cruise during the fall, winter and spring.

Princess is geared to allow everyone to be their selves and do their own thing. If you wish to be active, you can. If you wish to relax and unwind, you can. There is ample opportunity to graze at the trough if you get hungry or you can dine is pure luxury! The wide variety of room options is more than enough to provide for the pickiest cruisers!

So I guess you could say we are Princess Cruisers as long as the money last and they offer destinations that we wish to see.

Well if I wasn't ALREADY BOOKED on regal princess next year AND seriously considering caribbean princess for November, your comments would have convinced me ....princess will be a perfect fit for us. Kudos.

  11. Well my answer would depend on flight times. There are only a couple of (sometimes one) nonstop flight for us. And I would rather nonstop. My last cruise, SW had the nonstop home around noon from fll...perfect. but another time, nonstop was 8pm. Fll doesn't have much IF you have to wait (like restaurants or really anything) except a good close airport to port everglades

  12. There is another thread "I wish princess would...."

My comment could also go there BUT,

I for one (as a bike enthusiast) would love if 'princess would' have a dozen or so 'cruiser' bikes (no pun intended) for passengers to rent from princess in port. I realize the storage space involved but it seems they could make good $ renting them out.

  13. Everyone is different. Some people spend a lot of time in their cabins, others just shower, change and sleep there. I spend very little time in my cabin and almost never turn on the TV yet my sister (in a separate cabin) spends a good part of the day there. She does what she wants to do, I do what I want to do.

With "on demand," it's nice to know that if you do start to watch a movie, you can leave and pick it up where you left off when you get back. I also like that you can watch port lecturers and other featured speakers on demand without having to choose one thing to go to and miss something else. How many times have there been two things scheduled at the same time that you want to go to? Happens to me all the time.

Yes I agree. I for one had been on several cruises with my mom and we never once even turned the tv's on. But now that I go with my husband ....oh my, that tv is always on. It will be nice , the feature Pam spoke of 'pausing a movie and coming back to it'

  14. Just went to carnival.com to find out what this fttf was....well I for one would LOVE this on princess WITH these two caveats, 1) make it FAR more expensive and 2) limit the number of fttf to 25 cabins.

  15. I just gotta ask...who are the Bears? As in Chicago football players and fans? Or the Smokey Bear type? Or something else that might be TMI.

I saw a link to the bears website and checked it out because I was also wondering, well unfortunately I don't have the link for you, but they don't seem to be a Chicago based group , other than that their site only left me with more questions than answers, but I do remember, there site have a spring 2016 cruise listed
