  1. Ah, so that's what those little rooms are. I was offered these when I did my mock bookings, but had no idea they were attached studio rooms. I even tried searching the cabin numbers, with no results. So those little rooms come included with the JS? That would be perfect. Thank you.
  2. Thanks for all the replies. Fwiw, there is very little difference between balcony and JS on the cruises I'm looking at. (Southampton to Canaries in September) I did some mock bookings. Two connecting balconies £8k. One balcony and one Inside directly opposite £7k. One JS for three adults £5k. That's a lot of extra money for a bit of privacy.
  3. We're toying with the idea of treating my old Mum by joining us on our next cruise. Purchasing a solo room just for her is out of the question for financial reasons. So I've been looking at adding her as a third adult, perhaps in a Junior Suite. Can anyone tell me about how much privacy we (and she) will have? Is there a curtain that can be pulled across at night? Does the fact that the suite is larger make that more difficult than say, a narrower standard balcony room? The ship would be Anthem. Any advice gratefully received.
  4. When are these smaller segments likely to go on general sale? Will they appear on RC's website or will it be TA only?
  5. So when do these become available? I quite fancy doing South America or Middle East. Both regions sadly neglected by RC.
  6. From one Canary to another, please elaborate. OTBC
  7. Thanks for your prompt response. The YouTube review was by Ben & David, a UK couple which was why it resonated as I agree that us Europeans have different expectations from our friends across the pond. I didn't know about the status match. I will investigate further to see what that gets me.
  8. We've reached Diamond on Royal, and also sailed once on Princess (our first cruise ten years ago) and one with Celebrity (in March). We love RC but, lets face it, their itineraries are not the most adventurous and the Med-Caribbean-Med-Caribbean thing is getting a little monotonous (first world problem). I find my eyes drawn towards the possibility of maybe a Middle East cruise and it appears MSC seem to do those itineraries better than any other mainstream line. I recall a Youtube cruise channel really laying into MSC a while ago and because of that I mentally crossed them off my list. However, I feel a benefit of the doubt is due and what better place to find alternative opinions than on this board. Who out there has sailed both lines? What's better and what's worse than RC? Having done a couple of pretend bookings on their website, I know the initial price quoted is nothing like the final figure (a little naughty). Also, I notice you have to pay extra if you want the MTD we enjoy. Any insight you fine cruisers can give me would be gratefully received.
  9. I was just about to book a b2b on Rhapsody for two 7 night cruises starting in Barbados. However, all four Rhapsody cruises in March 23 have disappeared from the RC website without trace. They can't be booked up, as there were plenty of staterooms available the previous day. Is this just a glitch? Can anyone here shed any light on this?
