Unless the cruise line has a “price drop match” guarantee (e.g.., Oceania has that for “book onboards”), that price drop you find may require rebooking which may mean adjustment of perks to what is currently offered. In essence, do the “bottom line” math before anything else.

As for $43 pp? Some folks would call that “chump change” and not worth the effort.

We have the basic fare from Princess where nothing is included. The only perk we got was $50 obc pp. Do they usually charge a rebooking fee?

Hi @cruzin4us, originally the 4 restaurants mid ship served slightly different menus to go with the theme of the restaurant. Savoy was your traditional steak house decor, dark woods, Santa Fe was Tex/Mex, Pacific Moon was Asian, and Vivaldi was typical Princess MDR. They just split the normal deck 5 and 6 midship MDR’s into two different restaurants with their unique decor. Eventually, all the restaurants would serve the same menu, except each had a specialty dish which you could actually order in any of the restaurants. Savoy had a special pork chop, Santa Fe had Fajitas, Pacific Moon had a Seafood noodle dish, and Vivaldi had Osso Buco.

When  I sailed Sapphire in Feb 2020, just before shutdown, the specialty dishes were no more, but some would make an appearance one night on the MDR menu. The international dining room is regular MDR decor located deck 6 aft.

As to decor preference, you can decide after viewing to see which decor best fits your mood.

The Diamond is also a little different as it has a Japanese style bath that is an upcharge to use and usually rotates between sexes for use. So one day will be women only and then men only. I believe you can find YouTube videos for more info.I think it is called Izumi?

I wonder if they took out Izumi? I'm looking at the deck plans on shipmate and it's now labeled "splash pool" next to the kids center. It was the round pool at the aft correct?

You might follow a roll call on your ship the weeks before your sailing and ask

that question.  Seems the meals are very similar on the Princess fleet.  But, who

    knows?

    Have a great cruise.

I have! No one is on my dates roll call. I created one and nobody else has joined yet. There was some confusion on my part bc this ship used to just do Japan I guess.

Thanks for this link. Very informative. I wonder if the menus/restaurants will offer the same during the Mexico/Baja sailings? I'm on one in Oct later this year.  I'd love to have more asian food available. One thing that I really miss on cruises. Not that I eat congee for breakfast everyday at home, but it's nice to have the option.

Thanks all for the responses.  Since I've not experienced motion sickness before on things such as the Amtrak sleeper train, I decided not to ask my dr for the patch.  I am bringing OTC bonine, dramamine, sea bands (which I know work for me), and ginger candies, if I can find them.

If you live near an Asian grocery store, try there for ginger candies. It is literally dried ginger coated in sugar. It's not the gummies that are mostly gelatin. I have only been seasick once on a ship but I do get pretty bad motion sickness when I do spin pole (pole dancing) and the sea bands really help for me. Make sure they are tight enough. I have to buy the children's size to get them to fit tight enough.

Yes.  Now they’ve done an update.  Not sure that works now, but worth a try.

I have not tried it since the update.

OMG the update worked for me!!!! Thanks for noting there was an update. My phone didn't show it in my list of updates but when I searched for it directly it showed update available. I finally have all checkmarks and I'm green...for now. LOL

If you clear your cache out of your browser then the airlines don't know anything.  By clearing the cache on a computer and or browser you are basically getting rid of all your search history.  Cheers

Yes that's what I heard and that's why hubby tells me to use the Opera browser. It doesn't save anything but I only use it sometimes bc it's annoying you gotta enter in your user id/PW for everything. But like I said, even had my travel mate check on his computer. He hadn't looked at all and the same thing happened to him.

I have a cruise booked out of San Juan for Mar 2023;  the airfare is around $1,900 per person round trip.  Hope airfares come down before I book something.  The above airfare is Delta; which is my preferred airline.

I hope your airfare comes down before then as well. I wouldn't even fly to the moon for that price!

The thing that frustrated me the most was when I searched for the flights, with the exact flights chosen, the website was showing me the $300+ price, and once I selected both my flights and clicked next the fare jumped to double and gave me the reason that fares fluctuate often and quickly. I checked many different sites and they all pulled that same crap. I even had my friend try on his computer and same thing. I heard that if your computer knows you have been looking at the same flights/vacation often it will raise prices to make you think there is a high demand and you purchase.

  9. If you don't want to call it a fanny pack, you can also call it a belt bag. I have several of the Everyday Belt Bags from Lululemon. They are only $38, and have one zippered pocket on the part next to your body (the outside part but the back of it), and three mesh pockets inside (two small, one large enough to fit a phone) and the main zippered compartment. I can fit my small wallet, key, cell phone, my Ray Bans in their case, and a small tub of lip balm and hand sani.

I agree with above I do not like wearing the fanny packs like a cross body, esp since I have a bigger bust. If you buy a fanny pack, wear it as a fanny pack, or just get a cross body. It's ok to like something that you once thought was unhip. I grew up in the 80s. We were all over the nylon bright color fanny packs. The ones today are much more sleek. Unless of course you want to wear that kind to be ironic.

    Airfares are going up too.

Airfare was what killed it for me! I was this close to booking a cruise to Southern Caribbean out of San Juan. Last minute decided to check airfare and it went up from high $300 to high $600. No way! So we booked something that didn't require flying.

I don’t know if others have run into this issue when filling out the Personal Information and Documentation section on the app. The Save button always remained greyed out for me when I tried adding/changing any applicable data in the various sections.

However, I was finally able to click on the Save button when I used the online web interface once I completely filled out all the applicable sections to include the Emergency Contact information.

BTW I thought I had filled out all of the applicable entrees on the App, but maybe I hadn’t. Who knows.

This is my issue exactly, only I still get the greyed out SAVE button on the web version. I made sure to fill in every field, even on the app and still nothing. Glad it worked out for you.

I emailed their IT dept and have gotten a reply but since my sailing isn't until Oct they told me pax with approaching sail dates get priority with help.

Any way to check whether you have the most current version of the app?  Don't really want to risk a delete app if I am up to date. Yeah, I know ... you're not going to lose your data... but I am a "if it isn't broke don't fix it" guy.  I *think* I'm up to date.  How do you check that?

Go to your phone's settings, then apps, then find the Medallion app. Instead of opening it scroll down to the bottom and it should say the version. Mine is 3.0.102003 for android

  13. Just found the MedallionNet section on the app and for my 7 day cruise it's $69.99 for one device. The verbage on the Princess site is very deceiving! Wonder if I can share a one device plan with my cabin mate and just switch off for making video calls back home.

  14. Is the wifi price more once you get on board? Also I found it is $9.99 for one device. Is that for the entire voyage or per day? And is it one device at a time or strictly just one device?

  15. Do they still have cabins ready for you as soon as you board? I remember that was a thing the last time I sailed with them.

I also love the landromats onbaord. I know some will refuse to do laundry on their holiday but it's nice to be able to use it if you really need to. We had to dry our sneakers last time. It came in handy.

Veterans also.  Need to send copy of DD214 the first time.  For subsequent bookings, this information is maintained and the amount appears right away.

Oh also, maybe I missed it but how much is the military OBC? Is it the same for anyone who qualifies or does it vary by cabin type?
