  1. this thread cracked me up haha But in all truthfulness, the only actual sales that come and go are OBC amounts/free gratuity promotions that some TAs offer and if NCL is running free air/3-4th guests sail free promos. Other cruiselines idk. I am eyeing some of RCI lower fares...
  2. ahh ok. I saw the headline while I was in Nassau, got too excited for a second lol.
  3. Thought I read somewhere that NCL is dropping pre cruise testing?
  4. I can't believe I have a rare sticker to be honest. At first I thought it was because I didn't post enough haha
  5. Get drunk af and lose money in the casino. Not that I would have ever done such a thing, but I have heard it makes for a good time 😛
  6. *in above post, when I said "For the specialty dining" I am referring to the specialty dining package. If you have both platinum dinners and the specialty dining, depending on your dining preferences, I would advise you to use specialty dining for Cagneys and/or LeBistro and use the platinum dinners for the "Alternative options" on those little papers, just because Cagney's/LeBistro are more expensive than the other restaurants and you can get more on the menu if you use the dining package vs the platinum dinners. And also I'd advise just paying for Food Republic ala carte vs using a package option, prices are cheap enough it makes more sense that way imho. (But don't skip Food Republic, one of my favorite specialty dining venues) Last time I paid ala carte for Food Republic, for two people it was 30.00+ tip and we left stuffed. Our "Bills" for the other specialty restaurants were well over 100.00 each (But of course zeroed out because of the package, but they do show an itemized list on the receipt)
  7. As of March (last time I cruised) there was no price limit for the entree as long as it wasn't an upcharge item (so if there was an asterisk with upcharge pricing, that wasn't included) They told us 1 app, 1 entree, 1 dessert each, and a free bottle of wine at LeBistro (they gave me a specific list to choose from) For the specialty dining, it is more unclear and seems to vary widely. For most places, it was as many apps as you wanted, as many sides as you wanted, 1 entree, 1 dessert, but I didn't really "test the boundaries" so to speak.
  8. In addition to what some other posters said, depending on the NCL ship you sail on, some activities cost extra, like the Galaxy Pavillon Virtual reality place, the speedway race track, Vibe sundeck passes, a few other things I am probably forgetting
  9. that is amazing, like hitting the jackpot at a casino haha!
  10. I love and am pretty loyal to NCL. I have cruised with RCI and Carnival (might be cruising on RCI this fall because NCL doesn't have the itinerary I want. I know that some people complain about the nickel and diming but to be honest, this happens everywhere, on any sort of vacations. Yes you will have to pay gratuities and extra for specialty dining and extra for some activities, but all in all, it's a very good experience on NCL. In fact, I am hesitating on booking RCI and just doing an itinerary I don't want to do on NCL because I love having the free at sea perks. and NCL specialty dining is *chefs kiss*. I also prefer the look and layout of NCL's ships vs RCI. The biggest reason I would say that you should try NCL is to do something do! I love trying different things occasionally, spices things up.
  11. I know everyone is different and I am not making light of the disappointment the OP feels. However...if this happened to me, I'd be crying of joy, I love getting my money back and getting free money...really wipes away any disappointment for me personally.
  12. I tested positive for covid about 8 days ago (not from cruise travel), and I had a negative at home test today. However, I did look into the covid recovery letters are I believe if you google it, there are telemed doctors that you can pay for a visit (75.00) and send them your official positive test result (More than 10 days old) and they will write a Covid Letter of Recovery that is suitable for most travel. There are a couple companies I found via google that are doing this. One was 60.00 and the other was 75.00. I have not done this but maybe someone else can weigh in? I am still contemplating doing this as I think I can use HSA funds to do this and would probably be cheaper for me in the long run as I have to pay for covid testing for travel and if I could be exempt because of past infection, that would be great, but I still have to research it more.
  13. I was recently on the Joy on March 5th. I booked last minute so my promo was 150.00 min per person. The cost to prebook was pretty high (110.00 per person for the normal streaming) and both passengers had to buy it. The Premium internet with VPN unlocked was 179pp, which was a huge jump from what I paid in the past, so decided to see what my options onboard were The internet guy wasn't super consistant/helpful, but by day 6, I had a cheap internet package and some thoughts. When you board on day one, and you go to the log in page for the wifi, they offer you 80.00 per device for the non streaming wifi. This is acceptable to me, especially since when on board they were not forcing everyone in the cabin to buy one. The second day when I talked to the manager, there was no wifi deals, but he did tell me I could get 100.00 off a full weeks package of anything with my 150.00 minutes being exchanged. The premium non streaming wifi was 279.00 per device, so after my discount it would be the 179.00 I saw pre cruise, but again, they were not forcing everyone in cabin to get it. We waited until Day 6 to buy the Premium internet, as my husband just needed to log in for about an hr to check out how fast the premium internet was for future cruises where he may have to work. We paid 39.95 per day for 2 days for 1 device, no discount. You technically could just do it for one day at the end of the cruise for 39.95, but they won't let you just buy one day at the beginning of the cruise, if that makes sense. Also. the 100.00 discount is only for a full week of wifi. All of this stuff isn't really advertised, you have to either look on the wifi log in page or talk to the internet manager. Hope this is helpful!
