I’m solo and booked an extended balcony for less than that for this cruise.

You are lucky then.  I live in Canada.  This is the option I was quoted when looking earlier this morning.  I have cruised Carnival many times but not recently.  I've been a Princess Cruiser the last few times.  I do love the NCL ships with the solo rooms.  Wish the other lines would build a ship with these types of rooms.

  2. Carnival needs to add some solo staterooms on their ships.  I just check into this cruise and it would be just under $1500.00 for the room (interior room).  Plus cheers, flights, excursions.  Too expensive for this girl.

Carnival is like no dining room for lunch. You pretty much have to be on a journeys cruise for MDR lunch. They have sea day brunch which used to go to 1 or 1:30. Now they close at noon. To me noon is lunch time. I don’t see how you can have brunch without including lunch time. Without that there’s no unch. It should just be called br.

With your Plus package, you can pick up pretty tasty items at the International Cafe at no charge.  It's usually beside the coffee bar.  I have recently been on Discovery and the dining room menus for lunch are pretty boring I thought.  There were a couple pub type places open for breakfast, lunch & dinner.  More like bar food though.

While I was in college, I refused to listen to country music.  After college, I figured that I’d have a good chance of meeting women if I took lessons on how to C& W dance.  It’s all I listen to now.

Oh, and those dance lessons?  I met my wife at the original Cowboys at Gaston and Garland in Dallas.

I've been to Cowboys a few times.  Not a country music fan but it was fun.  My youngest sister use to live just outside Dallas.  Would go to Cowboys when I visited

I’m watching TAP every day. So far the prices are high. Being all day in Barcelona wouldn’t be the worst thing that happens. Our friends who are traveling with us have never been there. I know last time NCL had a tour that ended at the airport for evening flights.

What part of Michigan do you live?  If you could cross the border to Windsor, you can fly to Europe and back for about $1100.00 Canadian.  It's usually Air Canada though.   My son lives in France but I have flown to Italy also a couple times and it's still around the same price.  There is usually one stop in Toronto or one in Montreal.  Greg would not recommend Air Canada after what he's been through but I have never had any problems (yet)

Now you are making me nervous. We are flying Air Canada but it is direct from Toronto to Athens, so I hope all goes well.

I fly Air Canada every time I go to Europe.  It is nothing like Spirit Airlines, All drinks, meals etc are included on Air Canada to Europe.  Spirit nickles & dimes you for everything.

What do they do in the winter?

Some of them stay at the nudist colony.  They have indoor pools, hot tubs, entertainment to keep them busy but a lot go south for the winter also.  I have two sets of friends that belong to the nudist groups.  Both places they live are absolutely beautiful.  Just can't see myself going nude lol

On the couches and loungers maybe they would  have the things from the doctors office.

I have friends that are nudists.  When they go anywhere they carry a towel to sit on including nude cruises.

  9. They really don't make a lot of money for the hours they put in and usually send their pay check home.  I was on a ship and the crew told us they buy what items they need on amazon and it is shipped to their home port like a post office.  The ship I was on was home ported in St. Thomas.  If you give them visa/cash gift cards they can buy what they need.  Cash is great too as they can use it for bartering or crew store.  I always ask if there is anything they need in port also.  Most times they say nothing.

What do you think are the healthiest food choices on Princess?  Just looking for suggestions... Thank you.

The salad bar at lunch time & has many items to pick from.  Balsamic Vinegarette is delicious but they have other dressings also.  It's not like you have to put a ton of dressing  I usually get a piece of grilled chicken in the buffet also.  It's delicious.  There are many items at the International Cafe too.

    Trip update:

    1. Miraculously, we DID get to sit together on the flight, on the last set of 3 left right in front of the rear lav. So happy!

    2. Someone left their hair behind in the seat back pocket. 😂

    3. You have to ride a shuttle to a huge transit area in order to use Uber at LAX. That whole experience was ridiculously bad, AND it was raining.

    4. Discovery Princess is brand new and the most beautiful ship I’ve ever sailed. Our huge “obstructed” forward balcony is amazing. The food has been incredible.

Did someone sleep on the pull out couch?  I'm wondering how comfortable it is as I will be sleeping their in a few months on the way to Alaska.
