Had to ask for the water, the flowers (never did get any), the extra mini-bar (we're Elite), suite breakfast door hanger, the fruit basket...the list goes on.
I literally had to show the steward the list for each item. IIRC the only thing we didn't get was the flowers, but it was like pulling teeth without anesthetic.
Can you direct me to the actual list you printed out? I will be on the Crown next week.
Thank you for your help.

We were in a suite on Discovery a couple of years ago. I brought a print-out of the available suite benefits and was glad I did. I had to show the list to our steward to get anything that was on the list.
Even then, there were some items that we simply didn't get.
And the steward didn't get an extra tip.
What did you not receive? We are in a Penthouse suite on the Crown. I'm just curious what to expect.

Mine wouldn't open for the longest. Now it opens but everything is gone. I can't look at my journey or anything.

Talk about needing a life.
No one said you have to participate. A lot of people find this to be a fun activity. Nothing wrong with it. I see no need in putting these people down for their fun activity.

Thanks everyone - I will be patient 😊
It's so hard to be patient. And then you get on the ship and it's over before you know it.

But do they really need to know when or if we go to the bathroom? lol. It is literally Big Brother at its best. Found it annoying that if I went to a bar two days in a row the greeting was, oh would you like another martini,
That happened well before the medallion's. The staff on cruise ships are taught how to remember names, faces and what people drink. This is nothing new.

You say you lost $400. I would NOT let Princess get away with this. I have seen people say Princess has made an error and now it can't be fixed. I find that very hard to believe. Everything can be fixed.

@kpgibbsI would double check the Port of SF schedule for your sailing date to ascertain which pier you will have. Pier 27 is newer and nicer, but it may be occupied, so you could be at Pier 35, an older decrepit building. We had an "embarkation from hell" there while boarding the Ruby Princess, and would not wish that on anyone.
Oh that doesn't sound good. I will check. Thank you for your input.

My husband needs wheelchair assistance for boarding. At Pier 27 in S.F., when you arrive look by the wall of the building for wheelchair assistance. They will take you up into the terminal, thru security and then thru check in. They will the leave you in an area with others needing assistance. A Princess employee will then push the wheelchair up the gangway and onto the ship. They will usually take you to wherever you choose to wait for the rooms to be ready (buffet, lounge etc). A tip is always appreciated. There is a separate check in line for those needing assistance, no need to worry about the blue/green lanes. I don't know if they will take your whole group of 15 so you may need to split up and set a place to meet on board. Happy cruising!
Thank you for your help.

I think perhaps a wheelchair is in order for your mother?
Oh I'm sure it is. As long as I can find one quickly and easily.

Hello fellow cruisers,
This will be my first cruise out of San Francisco. Do they have a special lounge or area for suite guest?
I will be traveling with a group of 15 people. My mother has mobility issues. She and I are in a penthouse suite. Will they make her stand in line, or will they allow her to go inside and sit down before everyone else? There is no way she can stand in a line for more than a few minutes.
Thank you in advance for your help.

First of all, they are Princess gift cards sold by AARP. AARP sells lots of gift cards for all sorts of businesses and none of them say AARP on them, just the name of the business for which they are for.
Go to the AARP.org website and log in if you're a member. If not, don't worry, you don't have to be.
In the upper right you'll see this:
That's a link, click on it. If you're not logged in, you can now "Get Started". There you can register for a free AARP Rewards account. From there you can get to the main rewards page.
Here's the tricky part that trips up many first timers. You have to keep scrolling down until you get to a link that says:
Once there you can either search for "Princess" or just scroll down until you see the cards. They sell two kinds, a $100 card and a $500 card. You can only purchase 5 cards a month of any kind, i.e. if you buy 5 Home Depot cards, you can't buy any other kind of card until the next calendar month. People often register a spouse or significant other and then double their monthly allotment (we do).
It's also not completely obvious but the way to purchase multiple cards at once is to add a card to your "Cart" and then go to your cart where you can increase the quantity.
I hope that helps.
You the bestest! Thank you!

Where do you get AARP gift cards? I looked on their website and couldn't find them.

Thank you everyone for the help. I figured it would be cool. I just wanted to make sure I was correct in my thinking.

Hello,
I will be cruising June 6th, 2024, from San Francisco to Alaska. We are at sea the first three days. What kind of weather can we expect the first two days? Just wondering how warm it will be.
Thank you.
-
Does this game end or do they do it all the time? I have a cruise in June.
-
Thank you for the replies. I think my mom will be fine. I'm getting really excited.

We leave on August 8th from Sitka. Its my mother and myself. Did you see anyone using a walker? My mom is concerned she won't be able to get into the zodiacs.
Do they have single kayaks? I will be doing that alone.
Thank you for your great review.

We were dropped off right at the terminal entrance by Uber last week. We were picked up across from the shuttles.
I was told you could only use Lyft. Has this changed?

If you wish. The serious people have tags on them with a cute poem and/or a facebook page or email to report that you found the duck; you then either leave it, keep it, or place it somewhere else on the ship. I've only ever found two and I've left them both where I found them.
Thank you! Sounds like fun. I love Hide N Seek.

I got Covid two weeks ago. Dr gave me Paxlovid. The only side affect I had was a metal taste in my mouth. I sure made me feel better. I got Covid in October 2020. Very mild symptoms. This time was totally different. I ached all over. I was in a hot bath one morning at 1 AM. By the second day of taking the medicine, I started feeling better.

I have never heard of this. Are we supposed to bring ducks to hide?

I meant put a fake minor in the cabin with you if needed for buying the drink package. They can't make the minor buy one. My husband passed away a few months ago and my TA was able to take him off without the booking getting repriced
1 hour ago, cruisegus said:Yes if you cancel the 2nd person, Royal will reprice you at today's rate. That is why your TA said it is cheaper to just have the 2nd person No show at this time.
Also as stated, it cost nothing to change the 2nd persons name, so use the name of one your neighbors children and pick a birth date that corresponds to their approximate age (they are going to be a no show anyway) that way you can buy the UBP for yourself and still collect the double points for cruising solo.
The minor child is actually a brilliant idea! Thank you!

I made our reservations on the app. It will look like they are charging you at first. But it zero's out.
