Hi, I'm the upsell fairy , ;) for my family at least. I see something I like or want to upgrade to I just give Carnival a call. Sometimes it works out , give them a ring .
No joke... It worked for my Liberty cruise. From an inside to a balcony. They know what they're doing because I've booked balconies with them ever since.
I've booked an inside again on my upcoming Victory cruise. I'm sort-of waiting to see if they call me, but I might cave early and see about a deal on a balcony.

THIS VVVVV
Yes, earlier this year Carnival cancelled ten cruises due to too many ships in port and were concerned with the tender safety and the length of time it would take trying to get so many cruisers in port. They felt they would have to reduce their time there, that's what I read.
Months ago, John Heald listed the dates where Legend or Glory wouldn't call on Belize.
I'm surprised to see people would want Carnival to drop Belize. Last thing Carnival needs to do is drop yet another port.
I wouldn't mind going back. It was quite an experience for me.

The photos should work if you have a date/date stamp with the ship (including its name) in the photo.

Unless you tell us why they won't credit you I have no comment.
I agree. More info please.

I'd see myself trying a Cunard cruise. How much does the captain's suite cost on the QM2?.. Who cares! A cruise on a tall ship would be awesome too. As far as Carnival is concerned, I probably wouldn't sail them if I was Scrooge McDuck rich. Unless, I have enough money to buy a ton of stock/become a beard and do some "restructuring."
I'd see myself flying more. One of the main reasons I like cruising as much as I do, is to island hop the Caribbean. Flying would be great for that.

Carnival sunshine,freedom,conquest, and glory
Glory left pretty-much on time at 4:20.
Its been going on with a lot of ships. MSC's Divina, RCI's Independence of the Seas, one of the Oceana ships. IOS didn't leave until almost 8 the other night.
I could see one instance in Miami being caused by a shortage of pilots. 8 ships in port a couple Sundays ago.
-
I've noticed more ships leaving later than in the past. Carnival Freedom just left FLL, Conquest is still in POM. Last night RCI's Independence of the Seas didn't leave until a little before 8. MSC's Divina and another cruise ship left late from Miami as well.
Not sure what the deal is.

Anyone know if they have the late-night buffets on the Valor/Southern Caribbean itinerary?

Single digits today for my Valor cruise!

Perhaps they insulted the captain?

I don't know about bringing them on the ship, but the forward outside decks can be pretty windy when the ship is underway. I'd be prepared for the wind to move/catch the chairs when you're not seated. Also, the railing can be a little high, so you may not see much above it depending on your height.

In my spam folder I found the explanation email that indeed, they are taking her straight to Tampa after dry dock.
I spoke to my PVP this morning and was able to grab the same cabins for the 11/23/14 cruise now out of Tampa. He is supposed to call me back when he finds my deposit and gets my prices adjusted.
I agree with RuthlessBoss, I doubt many had non-refundable arrangements yet. It was just jarring to have the cancellation come out of nowhere. Plus we now have a longer drive to port. On the upside, we have (IMHO) better ports (Western Caribbean vs Bahamas).
The eastern/western itinerary from Tampa would be worth the extra drive to me. I live just over an hour from Baltimore, but the itinerary is just so underwhelming in my opinion.

Miami sounds like a better alternative. I really think that Port of Miami is easier to navigate as well. The convenience of FLL though is hard to ignore. Shuttle service from FLL to POM isn't very expensive though.
I'm booked on RCL's Independence of Seas, out of FLL. 6 nights sailing on April 20th.That was my last cruise. Really nice ship (aside from the revolving doors near the windjammer cafe). If you haven't sailed IOS before I highly suggest cramming all your exploring in the first sea day. 6 days wasn't enough to experience most of the ship! Seeing as how you've sailed LOS before, I suppose you'll be good haha.

Nice photos.
Can't help but notice nobody anywhere in the photos. It mustive been 3-4 am when you were taking them!

What am I missing? Those packages suck. They're more expensive than the Carnival package, and you can get Foster's with Carnival's. The only way I see that being worthwhile is if you actually drink more than the 15 drink cap Carnival has.
The big difference for me is not having to get everyone in the stateroom to buy the package just because one person may want to have it. After traveling on 3 occasions with 3 other individuals in a cabin, I can see it being a tough sell for the person who wants it. Especially if the others don't plan on drinking as much.

I guess Pearl won't be able to turn around either until it's completely out of the channel.
Never seen that before.
NVM... Pearl is turning at the fork/split

The sushi bar went away with the 2.0 upgrades.
Sushi is still available though in the Red Sail Lido Cafe, during dinner hours.

Looks like Elation will be passing Sunshine soon.

Ah, there are SOOOOO many, but the one that stands out that recently happened, was being asked to sing a "Command Performance" for the Captain of the Ecstasy. I sang for him, and several more of the staff, for about an hour. GREAT fun, and a real honor to be asked. ;)
"SKY"
Cool!
How did it come about?

The dance club is only one level.
The blank area one deck below your room may be for crew/housekeeping.
-
Somebody was just recriprocating/sounding back. At Port Everglades, I'm pretty sure it was a person standing on the side where the ships pass.
It seemed like the Celebrity Eclipse actually sounded the horn back after the air horn.

The first cruise moment was really my favorite. Stepping into the Liberty's lobby and seeing the atrium with the large and color changing lights. I felt like a kid!
-
If that's the case, I wonder what the reason is. From the impression I get here, Victory really needs a nice bow-to-stern dry dock, like now. Wonder if they're putting it off for something bigger or Sunshine-like? (sort-of hope not).

You have and yet have not missed the boat.
The boat you missed... Carnival announced a few months ago when they released more schedules that there would be no 2014 Europe cruises and possibly 2015 (though they haven't ruled it out completely).
The boat you haven't missed yet... I'd be fairly certain their new ship, Carnival Vista, would do a season in Europe before sailing the Caribbean in 2016.
Happy thanksgiving
