  1. Great review Sean. Take all the time you need. The reward is in the detail and quality of writing. Thanks!

Thank you! I'm making time in the evenings where I can! Grand Cayman will be posted very shortly!

This is why I only do mini reviews and I type it all out prior to posting.

I'm reminded of the Kaiser Chiefs song "Angry Mob"

I did mini-reviews prior to this as well, but I like taking and sharing photos as well. Woe is me, haha.

  2. You've got an inpatient audience here. We are eagerly waiting for more. Please dont make us wait for too long!

My apologies to make you and others wait.

I do wish I could post more frequently. However, work is particularly busy this week. More cruise funds in my eyes.

Sean - thank you so much for taking your time and for sharing your experience with us. :)

    Welcome!

    Thank you for reading!

  3. This is the slowest moving review in history.

All good things come in good time.

Particularly when you work in a busy shop where you don't really have time to blog, upload & edit photos until you get home. Then, once home, catch up with all else before committing to a blog. :) ... but who's making excuses.

I can answer any questions you have while I'm typing my next entry. It will be a bigger post.

  4. Hope to see some more pictures,

Use the links I provide in posts :). Lots there.

Unfortunately I cannot depend on Photobucket to properly host photos, so I will not be posting the entire review here as well.

Working on Grand Cayman at the moment. May not make it tonight as work has been busy. Will definitely be up no later than tomorrow :).

  5. Hey Sean,

Really enjoying your reivew. We have been on the Navigator 3-times and looking forward to the 4th voyage this April.

DId you enjoy your suite benefit of breakfast in Chops? One of my favorite Suite Benefits.

    Thanks!

We had a couple breakfasts in Chops, and it was really nice not having to loop Windjammer for a table! We also had breakfast in the suite as well one morning which didn't work as well as we hoped.

The best part about Chops was the Officers Lunch that I forgot to mention. Great food and service!

Enjoying your review and photos. Looking forward to the rest.

Enjoying your review and such great photos.

Thanks! Hopefully will have more tonight!

  6. What can you tell us about the mattresses?

I've read some of the discussion about newer mattresses. Truth is, I had an upper bunk on Independence and I don't know what to compare the one I slept on to.

    THAT SAID...

The mattresses seemed pretty hard. Everyone in my booking commented on it. The linens were awesome, but nobody liked their mattress. I woke up a couple mornings with a minor backache. :(

This is great. Will be boarding Saturday

Do you remember the movies showing on the outdoor screen?

Unfortunately, I don't remember what movies were playing. I can check the compasses when I get home though :).

  7. We have a grand suite booked in April. Wow, if we get upgraded I would be in heaven!!

If you log into Crown and Anchor on the RCI website, go to settings, you will see an option for automatic upgrades if available. :)

The Suite looked amazing, and the amenities that come with it make me want to upgrade from my balcony lol. Got to love the concierge services too. So fun to watch you sail away too (I swear, Im not a stalker LOL)!

Suite amenities are awesome! Unfortunately, Carnival's suite perks are nowhere near as good as Royal's (which is why we did Royal). I'd suggest staying put in that balcony unless you want added space and nicer linens.

  8. Awesome review so far. Glad to read about how they handle gluten free in the buffet. We will be doing our first RCCL in 2017 and this is the one thing I am worried about.

    Thank you

The gluten-free section of the Windjammer is there, but limited. There are plenty of other things though on other stations that work with diet restrictions too. You'll be good! You can also contact Royal prior to your cruise, let them know about your situation. They will note the booking and you will additionally need to meet with the dining room staff after boarding.

All I can see are the photos on the first page, if there were more posted, unable to see them on remaining 2 pages.

I only had 3 images posted on the very first post. To see everything, you will need to follow the links I provide.

  9. After sailing on Independence. I don't think I'd really want to be on a larger ship. Even on Navigator, there was much going on we wanted to do, but couldn't because it also took place at the same time as something else we were into. I would like to try a Radiance Class to see what one is like.

I haven't been on anything smaller than 100,000 GT. Given that I usually cruise for the ports, I'll take what ship I can get.

  10. Yes, that one is going to be awesome. :D You mom is so cute. Has she decided if she's coming on the Pride yet?

Thanks! She is pretty awesome! I don't think she's sure if she's coming in September yet. We'll see :)

Aww man that sucks about the delay in flight. But not as bad as for your brother. Poor things, never a good way to start a vacation.

    Lunch sounded good too!

There is always something. But hey, it all wound up good!

  11. Hey Sean! Looking forward to reading the rest! :)

    Kim!

Thanks and I'll get some more done later today!

On another note, glad you booked that cruise on Fantasy!

Thanks for sharing your story. Looking forward to reading it. We'll be doing same itinerary in less than a month!

    Thanks

This itinerary is nice and easy!

Oh Mylanta glad you got the 1st post/link out for everyone... The natives were getting restless lol

So moms gets multiple cruises... I am so sharing this with my boys lol

    Can't wait to read more!

    Hey Andrea!

The photo issue does seem to have been a big one, but I will just have to be better prepared next time, lol.

Mom got one really nice cruise, and has the option to join me on more if she splits some of the costs. Truly if I could, I'd pay her way for every one, but I have to work for a living. D'oh!

  12. Thanks! Great start so far. So she's still getting a Mediterranean cruise too? Lucky lady!

    Thanks!

She is! She will have to help split the costs for the Med cruise, but she's very excited!

One of the best reviews ever. Glad I stayed up so late for all the photos!

Thanks! More photos will come later today with the heavier posts beginning soon!

What a great retirement gift for your mom! :)

FWIW I can see the photos in the first post and both links worked for me on Google Chrome.

I can't wait to see the rest of the photos, looking forward to Navigator in May.

    Thanks!

Indeed, the photos are working again!

  13. Is the D90 is with the kit lens? I'm brand new to photography, still learning all the manual adjustments on my new-ish camera. Assuming you are using the Nikon the majority of the time, would you be so kind to say when you are using the iphone and Airpro?

Yes. This is a kit lens.

I will do my best to identify the D90 photos from the rest. The Ion has more of a fisheye look. The majority of pre and post cruise photos were iPhone pictures.

Those who've asked.. No, I did not use a tripod since I wanted the room for other things. You'll notice some grain in darker photos as a result.
