At Christmas there were 9 of us in 5 cabins.  First night we all showed up at the DR and ask for a table for all of us.  Got a round table for 10 and then had it the rest of the cruise.  We did find we had to nearly shout to hear one another sometimes and were conscious of that.

Yes, I was thinking about that. I am wondering if it’s best to just split up into 2  tables and then switch around each night.

IMO this will be dependent as to when kids under 12 are able to be vaccinated.  We are hoping this happens before mid-November, as we have our 7 yr old granddaughter booked on a cruise at the end of December.

Our daughter is a physician and a Public Health Specialist, she has advised that the approval for kids 5 to 11 yrs old will happen "soon."  The key here is how "soon?"

Oh my granddaughter is three so I don’t think she’s going to be able to be vaccinated. My dilemma is if I should switch to Royal Caribbean or stay with Princess.  since princess seems to not be allowing any unvaccinated people to cruise , I should probably switch but then again it could change, who knows what’s going to happen. Just when you thought everything was improving, three steps back.

For 2021 cruises this is what I see:

Health Protocols for Cruises through 2021

For cruises through December 31, 2021, guests must have the following:

    • Received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the cruise
    • Proof of vaccination

PLUS, for cruises through October 31, 2021, in addition to the above, guests must also:

    • Have proof of a negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken within 3 days of their embarkation
    • Be required to wear a face mask in certain areas

So if I’m reading this correctly, through 2021 children that are under 12 are not allowed to go on a cruise with Princess? Any indication if this  is going to be changed at the beginning of the year? I just booked a cruise and nothing was mentioned about the children other then asking birthdates.  Royal Caribbean is not excluding children under 12 as of now so trying to decide if I’d be better off booking with them. Thanks for any info out there

Sitting in 15 minute observation area right now after getting booster 5 months after second vaccine at the recommendation of my physician. In our state it’s available to anyone over 70 if it’s been at least 28 days after second dose or at physician’s recommendation, but recommended starting six months after the second dose.

It’s crazy all the different opinions out there. Don’t even know what to believe anymore. My doctor said absolutely do not need a booster at this time and to wait

  5. Hello everyone! I have a future travel credit from United Airlines. Does anyone know if I make a booking   through the EZ air, can the airline voucher be used or do you have to book directly with the airline company? Thanks for any info.

I would be shocked if the Alaskan season happens at all

I agree with you and I think the reason they haven’t made an announcement yet is because they don’t want to have to pay out refunds all at once and they’re trying to delay it as much as possible to handle the ones they are already working on. I canceled March 5 and I still have not received anything back . Slow going.  First time that I had booked a cruise with princess and as of right now I am not very happy with the waiting time on my refund not sure I will be back

Many need to just chill out a bit about the refunds. . All the cruise lines are under a major cancellation that requirer refunds in one or both back to how you paid and or FCC. Booking and paying is almost instant by your TA or while booking with someone at the cruise line. This is much different. It is not one on one. The procedure they MUST follow will take time for each booking. Booking one on one is fast. Now you are in with many thousands that will receive refunds and or FCC. It is totally understandable that it will take them a lot longer to do this and hopefully do it correctly and no mistakes for thousands. That is asking a lot of anyone.

Yes and I definitely understand that they have a lot of refunds to process but I do want to mention that when I canceled Disney,  I got my money back within four days and I’m sure Disney has a Lot of refunds going on also. I am now been waiting three weeks for princess to refund mine.  That’s a long time to hang onto somebody’s money when I desperately need it back

When I called Princess and asked this, they said it could be converted to OBC but that I wouldn't be able to use it until I was on board the ship.

Thanks for the reply.  Good to know, I will probably just use 50.00 to pay towards the gratuities  in our cabin and rest towards cruise. Thanks again.

We have been to the Bahamas in August 2018 on a cruise.  Looking to book another cruise but this time in January? (Much cheaper) How is the weather? Still warm enough to go swimming in the ocean? My kids love the ocean!!!

We have been there in January and it was too cold to swim! We’ve been there in April and I also felt it was still chilly water. When we went in January, I would say the temperature was about 77° out and it was way too cold to swim and very windy. I did walk in the water probably up to my knees but there was no way I was going under, LOL

Well I would assume you are OK - but if you are going anywhere other than Hawaii, you need more than just a driver's license.  https://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/cruise-travel-documents

Yes, I know you need a birth certificate also. The birth certificate has the middle name, the drivers license does not, it just has the middle initial, so I am assuming they are saying they need it to match the drivers license,  with just a middle initial. But it really didn’t specify.

This is maybe our tenth NCL cruise, but the first time we've received this. Our cruise docs have middle initials. Passports list full middle names. Wrote my TA to update, but I guess they're cracking down on these things?

So we do not have a passport, we are using a drivers license. Does the same rule apply? Just confused as it only says passport. Thank you!

    An APP to do what?

Princess has the Ocean Ready app for medallion class ships.

    https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ocean-medallion/?cid=bm_paidsearch_BKWS_bing_PrincessOceanMedallion_princessoceanmedallioncruise_Exact_isl&msclkid=90a40dba0009127e0bfd50f3af40b7b5&gclid=CLn917nZ7uMCFY_7swodEq8PaA&gclsrc=ds

If you want to search for cruises, deck plans, specialty restaurants this can be done at www.princess.com.

I was curious also. Do they have an app where you can see what the dining room menu is every night, what activities are scheduled for that day, your onboard account, things like that.  . Do they have something like that that you can see once on board that can be downloaded ?
