  1. We use a BOB Revolution SE and it works just fine getting around the ship. The wheels come off for easy storage. Took the rear wheels off and tossed them in the stroller before folding it up to get in and out of the cabin door and it fit easily into the closet when we didn't need it. We do a lot of walking around the ship and ports so we bought a stroller that would be comfy for little man to be in and easy for us to push. It can be pushed one handed with ease and folds easier than those cheap umbrella strollers. The sun shade is very long so it covers most of him when he's in it and it lays almost flat for naps.

Of course most people wouldn't spend that kind of money on a stroller unless it's used a lot, but I wanted to point out that larger strollers aren't near as complicated as people make them sound when you're on the ship or in an airport. It was a definitely lifesaver in the airports to get to the gates quickly!

  2. We just got the sold out message too after we competed the purchase. They shouldn't allow you to go all the way through the purchase process if the gift cards are sold out. Now we have a hold for a very large amount on our bank account and Verizon customer service doesn't open again til 9am. I'm beyond angry about this. I hope they resolve whatever issues they are having quickly and release the holds they've put on our account. I also wish I would have opened this thread up again earlier before we tried to purchase. Ugh!

  3. We had that same Vista Suite last September on the Pride. You will definitely notice the vibrations. Some nights it was really, really bad to the point that we had to position the doors in the cabin just right so that the noise they made when they vibrated didn't wake our son up.

Once you figure that out though you get used to the vibration really fast. I slept better in that cabin than I have in any other cabin that we've had and we've had cabins in every part of the ships. The vibration was so soothing that I would fall asleep any time I would lay on the bed even if I was just lying on my belly so I could do a little school work on my laptop.

  4. Congratulations! We booked almost a year ago while we were on our Pride cruise for a Pride cruise this September. The price is currently $45 cheaper than it was when we booked, but the taxes and fees have increased about the same amount.

  5. That was his reason for buying the package. Plus the package discounts each bottle a little just like buying a bucket of beer as opposed to buying 4 individual bottles. One other benefit to the wine package is that if you don't use all of your tickets on the cruise you purchased them on, you can use them on your next cruise. DH took two bottles on with us and got a wind package. He drank about half a bottle a day and had some tickets leftover that he's going to use on the Pride in September.

  6. The wine package isn't just for the dining room. You can go to any bar and get a bottle of wine using your package tickets and take the bottle back to your cabin. You can also get a bottle at dinner and carry it out after dinner if you want to take it back to your room. My DH got the wine package on our Sunshine cruise and he took his bottle of wine back to the cabin every night after dinner to enjoy on the balcony.

  7. Bad things happen on every line. Just like bad things happen on planes, trains, cars, etc. Human error can and does happen as well. That's the risk you take when you leave your home every day. Bad things can even happen inside of your home. Life is a giant game of risk.

  8. We feel safest when we are on a cruise as opposed to any other type of travel. If your post is in reference to the silly article CNN posted the other day, the only reason they drummed up that old news was because they feel the need to mention a few bad stories about cruising each time they post an update about the Concordia. The video they made was just silly.

Of course bad things can happen on a cruise. It's no different than walking around a city all day and interacting with the other residents. It's the same type of atmosphere, but on a smaller scale. Things can and sometimes do happen, but as long as you are aware of your surroundings and don't leave your common sense at home, you don't have to worry near as much.

  9. We definitely recommend JiJis! It's the best for pay restaurant we've been to, besides the steakhouse. We did both JiJis and the Cuncina within the first three days of our 8 day cruise and we enjoyed JiJi's so much that we went again on another night. Our 2 1/2 year old loved it as well and he's a picky eater. The Cucina was good too, but we weren't impressed with it.

  10. I would go for deck 7 aft or forward. You will be high enough to not notice the sound of the engines like you would if you were on deck 1 or 2.

Deck 5 mid is very loud due to the casino and it goes all day and night when the ship is at sea. I don't know if the smoke smell permeates up to deck 6, but you can really smell it all over deck 5, especially around the shops on the casino end of the atrium and the coffee shop which is on the other side of the casino.

They also do live music in a few different places on deck 5 including Ocean Plaza and the Red Frog Pub which are also below the deck 6 midship cabins so be very careful where you book on deck 6 if noise is bothersome to you.

  11. It sounds like your experience on the Sunshine was similar to ours. We have enjoyed all of our cruises and the Sunshine was the best one to date. The crew was always attentive and cleaning up around the buffet area constantly. Also, our balcony was also very clean. We made several comments about how clean the windows were because we've never been in a balcony cabin with windows that weren't caked in salt buildup.

We went into the cruise a little worried because of all the bad reviews we read about the ship, but we didn't experience a single thing that any of them complained about.

  12. The gummy funnels would be perfect for that. We got a ton of them on the Sunshine because that's what our 2yo liked the most from Cherry On Top. They taste great by themselves and I typically don't like gummies at all so marinating them with something unflavored would work out good if that's what you get from BV.

  13. They have Jeep brand umbrella strollers and it's something like $25-30 to rent. I know it was $25 in 2012 but prices for pretty much everything have changed since then so I don't know how much it is now. We just saw them on the Sunshine in May when we toured CC on the first day.

  14. What method is your daughter using to talk to the girl? If they're texting I'd get the phone number and call repeatedly asking for one of her parents until she put them on the phone. That's what I would want someone to do if it was my daughter.

I agree with this poster, but instead of demanding to talk to her parents, tell her that you are so happy that she and your daughter have become such good friends and ask if you can talk to her parents to try and arrange another cruise together so the girls can hang out. Maybe she would happily give the phone to one of her parents if she thought she was getting something out of it.

  15. We had a family cabin on the Dream last summer. It was OV with two

bathrooms and it slept four people.

The OP is looking for a cabin with a separate bedroom(s) and the ones on the Dream class don't have that. I was referring to the aft wrap suites on the Spirit class ships as only sleeping either 2 or 3 people.

  16. Spirit Class ships have an aft balcony suite that is two rooms. The issue there may be that I am not sure if they sleep 4. I know that the sofa in the "living" area sleeps one, but I'm not sure if it could accommodate 4.

They are beautiful aft wrap suites and our favorite rooms on Carnival's ships.

The Dream Class ships have a "family" stateroom, which is oceanview but it is still one room, just larger, and it has the split bath familiar to those that sail with Disney with two baths (only one toilet), but allows more than one person access to showering facilities at the same time.

Those cabins are awesome, but they only sleep 2 or 3. None of them sleep 4. I have read that there are a couple of aft wraps on other ships that have adjoining aft balcony cabins.

  17. Eww! That looks like a steward problem that has hopefully been reported to guest services and management. We stayed in an airport hotel in Jacksonville before our Fascination cruise two years ago that looked like that in the first room we got. Reported the problem to management and they moved us down the hall to another room which was just as nasty. After a long talk, a manager put us in a room on a different floor and walked it with us. This time we got a room that was very clean. That hotel just had a horrible housekeeper on the floor we started off on so hopefully that's the case on the ship. Hopefully people who have had rooms like that reported it so it can be taken care of. I wish you a great cruise on whatever ship you choose!

  18. The Steakhouse is a much more quiet setting just wondering is that the best place to take small children? Perhaps they would enjoy Camp Carnival a whole lot more and speaking as an adult looking for a peaceful upscale dinner I think the other patrons in the Steakhouse will appreciate that choice as well

Nobody else in the restaurant seemed to mind at all that our 2 year old was there with us. In fact, he has better manners than many adults. He always says please and thank you and understands what an inside voice is. We took his Leap Pad Ultra and headphones to give him something to do while we had each of our courses. Only one time did he say something loud enough that someone may have noticed, but the large group sitting beside us were being so loud that nobody noticed, not even them.

Some of you need to remember that children aren't the only humans who can be loud in a setting where someone should mind their manners and speak softly....

  19. What lido cabin? We booked 9167 for our Sunshine cruise in Sept! Is it loud on a balcony on the Lido from the pool area?

We were in 9166 on the port side which is the same location as your cabin, just opposite sides of the ship. We never heard any noise from the Lido or anywhere else for that matter. Your cabin will be under the spa's salon so it should be nice and quiet especially at night.

  20. We had a Lido balcony last week and it also had a temperature control so they all have them. No need to worry about keeping the room cool because I froze to death every night. Hubby can't sleep if the room isn't cool. I could have used my winter socks and hat to sleep. lol
