    OK here is my problem.  I just got my first smartphone, had to do it as Verizon is doing away with 3G service in my area or so I was told and my old flip phone would not do 4G.  Anyway, was contemplating it anyway just due to that and this Princess app stuff had to do it sooner.  So I am in a learning mode.  With the help of my grandson who is thousands of miles away, and face time and zoom, I downloaded the Medallion app on my brand new scary IPhone SE.  No problem.  But then it would not let me get in with my regular Princess sign-on.  So then I tried going in using the booking number and it worked very well.  Was able to download my son and my emergency contacts, pin, accept the passage contract and health thingy (can't recall the exact name).  It wants the pictures but I don't have them yet so skipped and also skipped the credit card info as I haven't yet decided which one to use as our cruise is not until Feb 27, 2022.  No where did I see anywhere to make dinner reservations/preferences for the MDR or Specialty restaurants or a place to select a boarding time.  I have read here that others have been able to make these reservations for cruises farther out.  What am I doing wrong?  Do I need to put in the credit card info and the passport pictures etc. before it will give me that option?  Thanks for any help you can provide.  Frankly, for a first day smartphone user, I was rather surprised that I got as far as I did.

    Look for the icon with the clock/knife and fork, If you click  that it opens up dining options. It hasn’t been working too well for me lately but you may have better luck.

    I had some issues and just deleted and then downloaded the App again.

    It was a fee cabin and we received the offer  around the 4th and we booked it last week. 

    Free Cabin and Includes Princess Plus X3

    It even included some  10 and 20 day sailings all the way out to 2023

  4. I am tech savvy and I have issues with the App.(Dine my way never works so you most likely couldn't make a dinner reservation anyway- we are Elite and Platinum) 

     I suggest finding a very good TA who can help you along.  They could most likely take care of all of this for you and get your medallion mailed to you ahead of time. You wouldn't need any other technology once arriving as there seems to be a way around it. 

    My Mom only has a flip phone and since we are sailing together I was able to build her a profile on the App and get all the info set up for her on my phone.

    I wish I would have known this before I contacted my TA.  If I don't hear back from her by the time I get home (I have a dental appointment today) I'll contact Princess.

    Is there a link I use to purchase them? The link that was given me about the gift cards, only has info, it doesn't tell you HOW to purchase them. But then again, I'm not the best on a computer!

    The gift cards are not purchased through a person,  it's just a website that you buy them through. You don't deal with any individuals. You can buy them yourself and give them to your TA.  .  You purchase them to either hold or apply to a booking.

    I'm curious, did you go through a TA, or did you work with Princess directly?

    It will really help a lot, since I always have to pay DOUBLE being a solo/single cruiser.

    You could have purchased the cards yourself and just passed them off to your TA.

    If this works, that’s amazing! I recently spent 30 mins adding cards through an operator and asked if there was an easier way and was told , no.

    I have applied $1000’s of GC and always had to call the main line.

    i have used the Gift Card site  to see the funds on a particular card but it’s only good for balance inquiries.

    You have to call. I applied mine to excursions for Europe 2022.

    They are my favorite just because of the amount of sea days. It allows you to really utilize and enjoy the ship.

    i have only sailed the opposite direction so I can’t speak to the weather.

    I'm confused about offers.  I've always gotten casino rate just on any cruises I wanted simply by telling my Princess travel person and she has always given it to me.  35% off interior, 25% off balcony and 15% off suite.   The offers I have gotten by e-mail or snail mail and generally are for $ for on board gambling and sometimes a specialty restaurant.  I've only once been offered a free interior cabin as I probably don't gamble enough to warrant any more free cabins.

     

    We have received more offers during  Covid than normal. The most recent offers include Princess Plus so keep an eye out, that’s too good of an offer to pass up.

    My July statement just posted this morning.  The first transaction is listed; I only received 2000 points for the $2000 order.

    My statement reads differently maybes because it has posted but it reads the merchant as Princess Cruises

    and Merchant location CA and then just a phone number
