I’m leaving for a Panama Canal cruise in two weeks. Shots aren’t required for Cartegena, Columbia or Panama City, Panama. I will probably bring my Covid vaccine record with me, just in case. It’s not currently required though.

Thanks for posting that.  The covid record, is that just a printout from the doc?  Do you have to get all the boosters for covid?  Thanks

  2. When in the hospital recently for surgery waiting, I saw a sign that said about how your phone has so many germs...everything you touch is on the phone.  Hmmmm  Made me think everyone is using their phone ever touching everything doing ordering, etc.  I am sure everyone is not wiping their phone down.  Maybe why sickness spreads so quickly on the ships?  We aren't interested in using the phones.  Will just put in our safe and enjoy the beauty of the islands and scenery.  We will be home soon enough and back to the phone.  LOL

Currently, Maitre d' is Neville Saldana.  He came on board a couple of weeks ago.  He said he would be onboard for about two months (leaving by the end of September).

Which port are you looking for EZ Luggage?  I am hoping that FLL will have this service.

Thanks for the info.  We are going out of Fort Lauderdale, either Delta or Southwest.  Did Neville say who would be coming after him?  We are going in January-February.  Thanks for the info.  Hope you are enjoying yourselves.  It's great reading along.

I disagree (on your spreading rumors point).  Someone (@mellon1) was wondering and speculating in their post that Princess may be charging $5 for the free Elite tea service (an Elite benefit).  I simply stated we don't know about that yet (AFAIK there has been no FAQ, or official word, nor a report from the only ship live with the new changes thus far).  My thinking is there would not be a charge, but I do think it is true that we don't know for certain at this point.  I am trying to avoid such a rumor growing.

I happened on a FB thread and - if I can base a comment on that - it seems like more jumping to conclusions and such going on there than here.

No worries on my end.  I appreciated your comment and thoughts.  You read a lot more than I do on this post and are more well versed on topics.  You responded to a question best you could at the time, that's all anyone can do.  One thing I do know, things are constantly changing and it is very difficult to keep up with what really IS happening or going to.  Thanks again for replying to my post.

I’m not on a ship yet since this change.

But, if I need hangars, towels etc, I wouldn’t call RS, I’d just let my cabin steward know.

    By reading the FAQ  above:

Housekeeping items, your cabin steward has an extension to call, so that’s not RS.  I believe that’s what they’re referring to as no charge.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Why wouldn’t you just your room steward to fill you ice bucket twice a day when you see them?
My goodness, people are gong off the rails with these projections!

This is what we currently do when the room is made up we have him fill the ice bucket.   We usually always at the beginning of the cruise ask for the things we need daily like extra towels and the ice.  Just saying, who knows if they will change this and make it be a room service charge.

  7. Can you imagine all the elites who used to order high tea service and that will now be a $5 charge too.  So, really it isn't a perk anymore for elites.  A way to not take it away but charge... Also, what about those crappy appetizers they give you on the first day?  Or switching out the mini bar for a bottle of wine? Next they will eliminate the room stewards bringing ice and make you get it through room service and charge the $5 fee.  Wow, twice a day for ice $10 times all the rooms.  Big bucks!  Maybe I should delete that before they get any ideas!  LOL

I just did a dummy bid while looking at 2025 Panama canal sailings and guess what? I was able to book and chose a cabin in the ME Cat on the Emerald Princess, but still wasn't able to book one on the Crown in same time frame. Nothing is standard with Princess these days.

They won't let you do B2Bs, price not available did you notice that

Go all way through to select your cabin:

You will see the prices Princess selects the cabin….

Right above that it says deposit is non refundable…

    You choose your stateroom

Right above that it says deposit fully refundable.

    Here’s an example.

Thank you.  So, with me choosing the room, it is refundable, Daaaaahhh why I didn't see nonrefundable.  Thanks for the visual!  You know I am blond.  By the way you know so much about all Princess.  Appreciate you sharing your knowledge and expertise to help others.  What a gift.

Both. Intentional as they wanted all lead in categories to be non-refundable deposits. At the time, all lead in categories were guarantee but ME. I guess this was an error and this part has been changed by Princess. Now all lead in categories including ME are now guarantees.

Where does it say nonrefundable?  I am not seeing it, but we are picking our own room number.  Does that make a difference?  Want to make sure I don't get stuck with having to pay deposits in case we cancel.

  11. We too were looking today for cruises and if doing B2Bs staying in a suite or mini it adds on quite a bit of money, especially if you are doing 5 B2Bs.  I wish they wouldn't do it for each of the trips and have just one charge for picking the room for those doing B2Bs and not wanting to switch rooms 5 times.
