I am following this thread with interest as we are considering a voyage on Silver Shadow in 2021.
We have sailed rccl, celebrity, azamara, oceania and more recently Crystal. We have enjoyed all of them but prefer the smaller ships. We are looking to sail next January for a milestone birthday and are unable to find a sailing that fits on Crystal.

We have used resortforaday not in nassau. We used it in st lucia.
we had a good experience

When will Oceana start enforcing their policy and deal with these sunbed hogs. Just off a 16 day trip and I have never encountered such selfish people. As you can see from the picture, it has just gone 8-15am on Sirena and there is only one sunbed in the shade left - not what you expect from such a cruise line.
Guess i will be up early in February

Hopefully you're not going to eat there every night. ?
Gosh no...we will certainly be dressed for specialties. But given the option of the main dining room or terrace we will opt for the terrace. An opportunity to dine outside in February is a gift.

Thanks for this posting...i was looking for the exact info. We sail in February to the Caribbean and hope to be on the terrace for dinner. One of our group asked about nice shorts for dinner on the terrace.
I can happily relay the message.

Happy to see morning sticky buns...but you only got a shot of an almost empty tray 🤔

The one we booked on Crystal is 213 sq ft
But we are peons & used to non suites 😎
I assure you the accommodations will be perfectly acceptable for a 7-12 day sailing. Maybe someday I will understand the need for more space on a longer sailing but as we are still working and rarely sail longer than 12 nights, I see no need for a larger cabin.
If Crystal was to increase their cabin sizes, they may price us out of the market, so, I’ll take my 213 sq ft. 😉
hope you 🥰

We will look forward to your review and comparison when you return from a non-suite cabin. It will make for a good balance. The cabin size seems very similar to a river cruise.
Not even close some of those cabins are 140 sq feet

I wonder how quickly you'd get their attention if you took your own bottle of wine and two glasses out there and just started pouring your own......
Dont think it hasn’t crossed my mind based on some of these reviews

One more vote here for *not* eating in the Terrace. Did not like being shoved around by impatient and impolite people. The food was fine. The servers tried their best. But on every ship, every time, one trip to the Terrace was enough. It was the passenger behavior that became exasperating,
Strictly my personal opinion, to each his/her own.
This was totally not our experience. Had it been, I am sure we may have opted to go to the GDR more than once. Our one trip to the GDR was not impressive. I guess it really depends on ship and clientele of that particular sailing.

January 2019 riveria we had no issues with wine or drinks for relatively early dining...7ish on the terrace.

I agree that O bread products are very good. In the morning at terrace there are fresh baked cinnamon buns WARM and oozing with dripping yumminess. I highly recommend. I am off carbohydrates in anticipation.
-
We have only sailed once on O on the Riveria last January we LOVED the terrace.
This was a Caribbean sailing that sole purpose is to escape the cold. To be able to dine outside every night was fantastic. We tried the MDR once and opted for the terrace when we weren’t in a specailty. We have booked one of the smaller vessels this winter and are hoping the terrace will be just as enjoyable...(and the fresh baked cinnamon rolls in the morning )

Confused
Did someone fall/jump off the ship while docked or was there a problem in the crew service area?
Different reports going on here
"Code Mike" is usually a medical isn't it ?
Either way it is a sad situation
Yes...whilw we were having lunch on embarkation there was an alarm called for man overboard. This was in addition to the medical emergencies

the crew did an amazing job yesterday and today. There were a lot of upset guest because of the extended delays this morning. We were told via a letter to our cabin this morning that disembarkation would be delayed by 1 hour. This was extended and extended. There was nothing mentioned about the crew member's death, however yesterday (New Year's day) at 10am there was a Code Mike to the room service area on deck 5.
We were able to board approximately 2 hours late we were having lunch when we heard a MAN OVERBOARD at 2:30-3:00 pm.
we were told via letter in our cabin that a crew member had died unexpectedly
we did depart on time. When we left there was a tent set up where the body was covered by a tarp. CSI was still actively working the scene.

Someone has jumped off the ship and apparently died. Very sad CSI is here.

I have been reading this thread with great interest. We will be disembarking the Sirena on the 13th. Our flight is a little before 2 pm. I thought that was a safe time until I read this thread. I checked the port schedule and there are 6 ships that day. I just roughly added up the passengers and got between 19,000 and 20,000! Granted some will have driven, some will be staying in Florida a few extra days, but not that many. We do have Global Entry with TSA. Will that help? I know Miami can be a zoo. I am trying to decide whether we should get off super early after the ship is cleared or wait a little. Also is Uber or Lyft the way to go to the airport? I tried my car service I used before but they do not go to MIA. We are flying Delta if that makes a difference. Will we be okay? Any special tactics to do?
Thanks.
On the 13th there are 18081 according to a website i viewed...on the 12th when we dock 26700 ....I’m thinking cabs will be sparse and it may be a long day.

NO duty free liquor
In the laundry room there is a soap dispenser on the wall with a cup you put the soap in the machine
Be sure to put the token in the correct slot for the washer or dryer
Thanks
😢 for no duty free...my supply of grey goose is depleted and we usually stock up. I know crystal had no duty free but I wasn’t sure on O.
perhaps we can look in one of our port stops
-
Thank you both. Very helpful.
we are booked for La Reserve...we are hoping friends can join that is why we want to speak to someone after boarding.
Does oceania have a duty free liquor store?? Not for consumption but to take home??
thanks again
-
Is there laundry detergent available for purchase in the laundry rooms??
is the pillow menu available in all cabin types??
who would we speak to on day one regarding questions about la reserve.
how many people can attend the artist loft?? Do the art classes change daily. How does one sign up?
Thank you for any information.
