  1. Have never cruised on NCL before but have on several other lines.

In looking at pictures of rooms it appears that they all have fluorescent lighting in the cabins but of course can'tbe sure just from the pictures.

Can anyone confirm that the lights are or are not fluorescent?

    Thank you in advance

  2. So sad people get treated this way.  I know many gay couples and trans and they are almost all wonderful people.  Know one gay couple who are total jerks.  Same with all groups some good some bad.  It really doesn't matter will enjoy dining with any nice people.  Different can often be the most interesting.  Hoping for more change.

You do not need to book Privee through special services  just  ask your TA  to book it for you   or call Oceania

Book early as  it is a popular  Venue

You can "dine in"  your cabin  ordering from the Specialty restaurant  & served by your Butler if you feel like  a relaxing night in

Be sure to try Afternoon tea early in the cruise  in case you want to go more often

Many people do not discover  the tea  until near the end of the cruise

Thanks. Tea is one of the things that drew us to Oceania we used to love them on Regent

  4. We are sailing on the Vista in a PH cabin with oversized veranda.  This is our first Oceania cruise so we are very much looking forward to a great time.

Of course no one has been on a Vista cruise yet, but I was wondering if anyone could give me a few notes on how they enjoy PH Suites on Oceania and any hints on how to take the best advantage of the benefits included with PH.

Also we have dear friends traveling at the same time but not in a suite.  What do you think is the best way to get them included in specialty dining reservations with us.

I also intend to take advantage of of Privee for the four of us and hopefully new friends.  I know we do this thru special services but any inside info are appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year.

  5. I want to thank you all for your kind remarks and suggestions.  All are very much appreciated and demonstrate the kindness in the cruise family.

My biggest problem would be getting to the port.  I had 6 vertebra fused so flying is next to impossible unless I am complete doped up and driving is almost the same and I hate being so doped up.  The sins of a misspent youth topped by old age  lol.

I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas, we did. Also wishing you a Happy New Year.  Filled with many wonderful cruises, trust us we will be out there.

I don't understand what "I have been able to determine" means in light of your saying you never received confirmation of the claim.  Take a few minutes.  Call the claim phone number.  Find out what is going on.   Or, continue to do nothing.  Choice is yours.

Yes I never received a confirmation but I was finally able to verify online that the claim was being "processed".

What number do you have because I haven't been able to find one

    Thanks for your assistance

Seems like something has dropped through the cracks.   When you call their toll-free claim number, do they recognize your claim from several months ago?  Seems reasonable that they provide a status, assuming you asked.   Additionally, If you have a claim number you can check the status online.

I have been able to determine that the claim is there and being "processed" so we appear to be somewhere along the path to resolution.  My 2 issues are that I never received notification that they had received it nor that it would take such a long time to process.  It is a simple claim for a relatively small amount of money so I am just a bit annoyed.  Such is life for the time being but with my recovery expected to take 6 months to a year, I have nothing but time and federal and state agencies.

  8. As I sit here in 3 degree F weather with a windchill of -25 wonder why I am not sitting on a veranda watching the ocean go by.

The reasons are 2 fold.  One I am not recovered enough from surgery to be able to enjoy a cruise and two just wasn't able to find a cruise that fit my desires.

Oh well it is tough to have first world problems.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a great night.

I assume a claim has been opened and you have a claim number.  Have they denied the claim?  Have you received any communication?  It is one thing if they are not responding.  It is another if they have but you don't agree with the response.

A previous poster mentioned your state insurance commissioner.   If they (AON) are literally not responding or you feel you are being treated unfairly, open an unfair claims practice complaint with your state ins dept.

Have not heard one word from them that is what annoys me most of all.  I know the claim is there although it was difficult to get that info.  A little communication would be nice.  Just waiting to see what their determination is before I go totally ballistic and start other actions such as you mentioned.

We have always had reasonably fast adjudication of our claims with Aon. Once last year, they did send an email stating that they were back logged with COVID claims and it would take a few extra weeks. But they met the revised timeline.

Would be nice if I received such an email.
