Also there is a Santander Atm right outside the airport customs and immigration area where the shark tank people can't bother you. Good place to get peso.

We will be at the Westin by the beach in Fort Lauderdale and will need transportation to the port of Miami.
Does anyone have an idea of taxi costs?
What about a limo or shuttle?
Thanks
Have you checked SAS if they'd pick you up?

We use Belize as a "Day at Sea" with some laundry. No one is there and we are done fast.

We need a car Apr. 8, 9 am thru Apr.11 9 am.
Any success? I've found a better deal booking directly with Ace. I paid 43 bucks for a Corolla for 3 days.

If your flight arrives at 8:30 it will be after 9:00 when you arrive at the hotel. Order delivery pizza if you are hungry and go to bed - walk out the next morning for water/soda/etc. Shuttle to the port before noon - you'll be fine. :)
I agree. Unless you are renting a car to gather supplies I'd stay in.

Check the price of renting a car in FLL and returning it in MIA. Last time my friend did that it only set her back $15 bucks and she returned in 40 min after checking it out. Not too bad I think.

Hello, I searched first but didn't find the answer to my question. We are currently booked at La Quinta Airport East for Feb 26-28 as we are allowing extra travel time due to winter. Our cruise on the breeze leaves the 28th. I was reading recent reviews on trip advisor (recent being posted the last few days). The reviews have me concerned and since I don't live near Miami I can't verify the information. The reviews stated there was a lot of construction going on at the LQ and also mention bed bugs. Because of these two things I am seriously reconsidering changing our hotel. Can anyone recommend a similarly priced hotel that has airport shuttle, is in a relatively safe neighborhood and clean? TIA.

My friend stayed at the Red Ref Inn MIA and said it wasn't that bad. For that reason and the price of $66/night is why I'm going to give a shot. I will let you know when I get back or check out my TripAdvisor review on or about January 11th.

Has anyone had expirience reserving a car rental at Priceline.com?
Thanks, TD
When do you plan on using the car?

We've stayed in the area before and it is a very "special" place. For that reason we only slept at the hotel but did our shopping at Walmart.

Where is the Carnival airport check-in counter.

My DW still has old passport but now we are married. We've already booked 2 other cruises with her new name and bring the passport and our marriage certificate stapled into it. We never got stopped and it has never been a problem. Passport to marriage certificate shows continuity that she is who she says she is.

I've taken the 1045 out of MIA to Boston 3 times and never had an issue.
But I like living on the edge working with a family of 6 and giving my wife a heart attack each time.
Depends on your nerves.

There is a gas station-mart within walking distance; I would walk over there in the morning.
I agree go during daylight hours.

That hotel is in Jamaica Plain/Mission Hill at least 20 minutes from downtown on the green line trolley.
Let's get some more opinions from others about the four of you staying in that area of the city. You probably would end up standing for a good portion of every trip in and out of downtown.
Quite frankly, I know neighborhoods change, but Jamaica Plain and Mission Hill set off red flags for me.
Even though it is only for a few blocks the trolley is pick up and drop off from the street in that area. What that means is you wait on the sidewalk. When the trolley arrives you have to cross a lane of traffic and then go into the trolley. It eventually gets off of the street onto it's own pathway but traffic could be such a bother.
Also a side note, there really isn't any high crimes in that part of Mission Hill but you do get drunks floating over to that side for some strange reason. They don't cause trouble but are always asking for money and such.
Time from hotel to Copley Station 15-25 minutes depending on your wait at the hotel.

On our last cruise our girls were 3 and 11 and they were in the hallway across from our room. We obtained and extra room keys from Guest Services so that everyone could have their own SS card but still enter their rooms. Bonus was that my wife's card would open the girls room and my 11 year old's could open ours. Never had an issue or a need for the girls to run into our room but it did provide everyone with that piece of mind and comfort.

I am looking at booking an interior room for 4 with ES. If a better price comes along, can I upgrade to an oceanview or balcony? Or will I only be able to get onboard credit?
You can even upgrade within the same class of room. Such as going from an inside cabin on Deck 1 to Deck 6. After all Carnival is always more than happy to take some more of your money.

Taking 12 cans seltzer/sparkling water for me, 12 cans soda for DD. Can I also take some juice boxes for the same DD? How strict are they on non-alcoholic beverages? Leaving from Baltimore. TIA!!
I don't know about Baltimore but in Miami the security people account for every 12 pack of soda or juice with each member going aboard. Best of luck to ya.

Does anyone know if the Conquest is the American Menu or the Old One?

On our last cruise our then 3 year old would want to come to mommy and daddy's room. Upon seeing the my daughter leave her room and walk across the hall the room steward comforted her while we opened the door. He saw her crying and offered to bring bedding. He was awesome and deserved his extra tip he received from us. Simply a great guy.

Still, if DW and were to go to a nice restaurant with a 3 course meal it would still be more than $36 (20% tip added). I find a value in them in that it allows a special moment in a nice setting with a lovely lady. Why she hasn't divorced me over the years I will never know but I'm grateful 😉.

There are the rules and then you have the customer service rep that wants to help you. I had a similar case on my last vacation and the Carnival person did the name change plus "fees". It cost me $75 total and we said thank you. Bottom line you don't know until you ask.

I know people that come in early to Miami rent a car go and do fun things and get a cab and board around 2pm. 1 time the left their luggage at the pier at 10am and it was waiting for them when checked in.

Boo, that's crummy news. It's true that Carnival does have 'specials' some times that only last a few days. I'd just keep checking prices (by doing mock bookings) and maybe you'll come up with a better price. It does seem unfair she got it and you did all the work to get everyone to book. Sorry.....you seem to have rotten luck like me.:( I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to get an even better deal.:D
I am the price checker in my family. So even if another member started to outing I get everyone's cruises linked to mine and I know all of their PINs. When the price goes down I take care of everyone's with just 1 call. If you have someone like me utilize them.

I used them before as well. They say estimate because if you don't have your insurance paperwork within 30 days of pickup they make you buy their's.
