  1. We are booked on Nautica from Dubai to Rome on June 6th this year. Same cruise thay we were cancelled on in May 2020. Now showing it is sailing, but all categories are now shown  as Wait List. The following cruise on Nautica, Rome to Athens also hasnt been cancelled and also shows Wait List for all cabins. Do you think it will be sailing? Probably will cancel even if it is.

  2. FYI, on Celebrity website shows revised itinerary for Summit sailing from San Juan on Oct 28th. Stop in St Thomas's has moved to St Croix, however still shows departing San Juan on Oct 28 and returning there on Nov. 4.

Also Nov 19th sailing on Silhouette has revised stop from San Juan to Punta Cana. Now they have updated it and is returning to San Juan.

  3. In Aruba we took a taxi to Palm Beach's Moomba Bar, which had good food and internet. Two chairs were $10 or $20 and they placed them in the shade for us. Plenty of other places as well. Gorgeous water. At night we did the Celebrity excursion Sunset Cruise on a catamaran which was nice as we were surrounded by dolphins much of the time.

Our two days in Curacao were wonderful. I scuba dived the first day, then we went downtown for a lovely meal in the old town (across the pontoon bridge) main plaza. It was all lit up for Christmas and "Sinterklaas" arrived when we were there. The second day was SUPER hot so we just wandered around the Renaissance Hotel grounds and ate in their outside shopping area.

In Barbados we had the spectacular Silver Moon experience. Specify the larger catamaran if you want to go on the 5 hour excursion, I think it's the Silver Moon II.

On St. Lucia, we went on a tour provided by our TA, a catamaran (with 72 people this time!!!) past the Pitons to Soufriere, a visit to gardens and a waterfall there, lunch, and then the catamaran back. VERY nice.

In Antigua, we took a taxi to Fort James Beach and had a great beach day. There's a great place to eat and drink, Miller's, and you can pay $30 to ride horses into the water up to their backs. Most of the crowds go to Dickenson Bay, the next beach, but Fort James is quiet.

My go-to place in St. Kitts is Palms Court Gardens about two miles from the port. It overlooks the port and the ships and has good food and drinks and a great pool. You pay $12 to get in (make reservations!) and it gets a little loud after 12 when young crewmembers from the various ships visit for three hours. But it's great.

We'd been to St. Maarten so many times that we just stayed on the ship and enjoyed our free drink package and the Persian Gardens.

Thanks so much for the great information. Will be on this cruise next month.

  4. We have just published a review of our recent Mediterranean/Transatlantic cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette on our website. As usual, our reviews have lots of photos of the beautiful places we visited; as well as pictures of all the menus on the ship. Since there were seven sea days to cross the Atlantic, I have provided the daily activities pages to let you see what the ship activities were while at sea for that long of a time.

We had a pre-cruise in Florence, Italy and were able to visit some new ports for us this cruise, including Toulon, France and Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Here are a few photos from the review.

    The beautiful Duomo in Florence.

You can see the review on our website http://www.thepreismans.com. We hope it either brings back some fond memories of your Mediterranean cruise or helps in planning your cruise to see a most beautiful part of the world. Enjoy!

Always enjoyed the comments/reviews/pictures of your travels. Being on the cruise with you made it that much special! See you in a few weeks in the sunny Caribbean!

  5. Just like the journey had to end, so will this report soon. I would have wrapped it up earlier but it takes so long to deal with the site that hosts pics. It takes forever to upload them :(

I also have some cool videos that I would love to share but am not sure I can make it work. Tips appreciated!!! As are any and all comments and questions!

Before I finish up, I will come back to talk briefly about planning as well as share Rome. Plus, YES, I will CONFESS as to how much weight I gained on this 2 1/2 week food & alcohol adventure. But I don't think it's fair to do so until I include our two nights in Rome, which was a big part of it. :o

Also, I will say that our decision to not buy an internet package and to totally disconnect for the whole Atlantic crossing was indeed the right move for us. When we turned on our phones and checked messages, emails, facebook, work, etc...well, we found the whole world went on just fine without us. The dog was fine. So was the cat. Minor mishaps at work, but those could have happened had I been there. Kids, Parents...check! And we won't even talk about the election that happened while we were gone.

But all in all, it didn't matter that we missed a Living Social deal or a new restaurant opened in town without us. We COULD be away for 2 1/2 weeks. It WAS possible. And it can be possible again. We hope. :p

Meanwhile, I'm not sure I'll ever catch up on all the tv shows I'm behind on on the DVR!

Thanks again for allowing me to relive our Trans Atlantic crossing through your eyes, it truly was wonderful!

  6. I didn't have any trouble getting Husband to join me at the 10:15 Beyond the Podium Presentation on this morning. Not when Professor Lisa Didler was speaking on Madams in America ;)

And like her previous ones, it was fascinating!

We had seen her a year before on different Atlantic crossing and she was wonderful. Were so happy to see that she was speaking again on this crossing. However very disappointed that she gave the exact same lectures (except for one on the Canary Islands). She should have had new topics since so many onboard had seen her previously. Ended up skipping her, what a shame.

  7. Thanks for all the excellent input. We have stayed in Sky Suites in both M and S class ship and have been very happy. Get all the perks like the CS, but less room. Looking to book another cruise on M class soon for 14 days and the difference between Sky and Celebrity is $700 pp, or 100 a day for the two of us. Thoughts.
