  1. The Average Toll is $150,000 per ship. These partial transfers probably cost more due to the dropping of a west bound and added an east bound traffic, effecting the daily thru put sequence plan. Accountants Rule…
  2. This sail is now off the board, not available for booking, with scores and scores of cabins available. I hope I’m wrong but I fear she will not sail to the Holy Land…..awaiting email from RC…
  3. Biker 19 no we walked out to the terminal lead by the hosts to the North side where .. Lyft/Uber Hundreds of folks waiting.. Shuttle Service $$20 pp to,airport.. Taxi Rank…. there was a rope taxi rank but NO Taxies people from Shuttle company in their uniforms seems to run the entire show and rule the roost… Cruising since 1998, TA and Pinnacle Club Member and was always able to get a taxi at any terminal worldwide…
  4. Well tips are a person thing…all opines good..it’s YOUR money.. Facts.. RC pricing and salary model to the hard working staff is $1.98 per hour….average salary and daily tip pool is prorated to all the serving staff you see and don’t see, tips comprise MOST of their bi-weekly pay check….I have seen their pay stubs….. Opine I don’t like it either as a tipping American, I would much rather, RC, increase to fare to properly pay the all their folks, thus allowing me to tip, what I WANT and CAN for superior service… phil
  5. We had a terrific reposition sail from Ft Lauderdale, great crew and lots a fun….I will book Vision again. NO Taxis at Maryland cruise Terminal… Upon departure, guest where driven, literally, to North side to terminal to wait for Uber/Lyft, hundreds waiting, or a taxi rank, or take the private shuttle…. But NO TAXIs showed up during our 45 minute wait and had to pay the $40 for the shuttle service. Anyone else experienced this..? Based on actions of Transportation Company, I felt they rule the Baltimore Docs…..keeping the taxis OUT.. thanks
  6. Just run for Congress and win or be a senior staffer….presto…..jackpot…. enter with little net worth, ten years later you own several prime locations houses valued at over 50 million, all on less than 200k per year…. What a country….
  7. Ok you awoke a sleeping giant on that post….. MOST important, these are HARD working folks, 7 days a week and deserve the maximum tips you can afford based on WOW service… Yes assessment of the RC provided breakdown……. PLEASE take a minute and follow my logic for Oasis Class Ship, 7 night sail, At Capacity, at 90% tip level at $16.00.. Rounded Math… $685,000 collected… $254 for EVERY crew member, including the Captain. $456 for Every Hotel Staff Member, excluding the ship engineering and operations staff. DOES YOUR CABIN STEWARD get $456 for more in tips each week..exclusive of salary…. THINK about it…… Opine… The crew does NOT see anything close to those amounts, and I believe RC is using that hotel service category… for tips …to pay for employee benefits and travel too and home to the ship. ….it’s not salary to the crew… OR Let your mind wonder in theories….HA…. I await your answer RC controller…. Stay Safe..Keep Cruising..
  8. Well the accountants found another cost savings…… Our FIRST stop on embarkation is always, Next Cruise, to book a sail, and typically if your the first and sometimes within the first few bookings, you can request and get a bottle of bubbly… We did this on Seven of our Eight sails in 2022…..well, NO more, the only “give away” is a raffle ticket for $250 OBC drawing at the end of the cruise… The new normal is changing every day… Stay safe all…Keep Cruising…
  9. One service per day Ok…we will take AM.. Result is cabin steward reduction by up to 50%, 170 persons on Oasis Class. SO RC with less service are you reducing your fares…not the tips to these hard working people, who’s job just got harder…..30 cabins per person now ? I feel for those using Pullman and sofas as beds… RC you are losing bookings, as a TA, almost ALL of my clients are not happy with higher prices for less…across the board…. For a few dollars more in total cost, my new bookings include, Viking, Seabourn, Regent and Virgin… not one RC since the first of the year.. At this rate you will have very hard time in moving forward next year, keeping your new and current mega ships booked. Stay safe all.. Phil
  10. On Oasis, the bags of chips once available in Park Cafe, have gone the way of the dinosaur. I know RC has to make money to pay off the BILLIONS in debt and accountants rule,, but Come on Man….. Maybe limit one per guest per trip….. The 1000 cuts of cost reductions continue. Stay Safe..all
  11. Lots a great comments…… An opine of a long time cruiser and TA….. Evening cabin service is part of the cruising vacation experience…. Yes, things change, I’m Ok with that, like NO skeet shooting nor midnight buffet… RC be HONEST, why this is happening, to reduce steward staff by up to 50% to save money to pay down BILLIONS In debt….just like menu reductions…. The REAL visible impact will be room service and take away stuff all over the corridors outside of cabins for most of the day and night.. Safe Safe all…Keep Cruising..
  12. So Canada, effective 1 Oct. no longer requires the shot nor pre cruise testing…BUT RC still requires them from the E mail I received this AM for my Enchantment sail 6 Oct, which includes a Canada visit. As they say…Come On Man… Stay safe all… Prayers for of all those in Ian’s path…..a REAL challenge….verse the small stuff….
  13. Political theater…..agree or not with this policy is there No scientific data on the 6 day line… stay safe all..
  14. I thought one of the primary reasons to sail Alaska is for glacier viewing…. now due to engine issue Quantum is not going….. sorry this is rubbish, lose a port or two but do the Glacier run, with a tug if you have to for safety….
  15. The cruise Lines are doing all this VOLUNTARILY… it’s not the big bad CDC… Viking announced today, no more pre boarding Covid testing… Stay Safe all
  16. Royal NOT providing embarkation or disembarking Covid testing for Europe sails like they did in 2021…. Based on posted protocols on Royal Website, US citizens, if traveling more than a day before sailing will have to find a get a Covid test in a foreign land, just like guests to our country flying in to sail from the USA. As a TA, I have many US clients now asking for refunds…… Why are you doing the Royal…..to save a few dollars, but creat issues for many travelers and lose tens of thousands …. Stay safe all
