  1. Hi there :)

I sailed the Western itinerary in May. Whilst I cannot remember exactly, from memory, the water/fountain show in the aquatheater is held on the last night or second to last night of the cruise once all of the other aqua shows are finished. There are usually at least 2 times for the short show.

However, when I was on in August on the Eastern, one of the shows was cancelled due to some technical issues and it was rescheduled it for the last day.

Best to keep an eye out on the daily show done by the current CD for any amendments/rescheduled shows :)

  2. Hi everyone!

I have always been very lucky on cruises and met some wonderful people.

In November 2012 on my first cruise on Allure with my mum, we were sat at dinner with 2 couples. We met them on the 2nd night (formal night) and arranged to meet them at several other points throughout the cruise. We all celebrated one of the guys 21st birthday during the cruise and on the last evening we all had a wonderful meal together, shared champagne and lots of laughs!

We are all still in contact now and have made friends for life!

I have since done 2 further cruises on Allure and had similar experiences - I love meeting such wonderful people and have never had a bad experience. I can't wait for my TA on Indy next November!

  3. Hello!

I have travelled to St Thomas twice and have never needed to arrange a separate visa (I have UK passport). As far as I understand it, the only requirements for UK passport holders is that they are only travelling for holiday, transit or business purposes, passports are machine-readable, the stay does not exceed 90 days, a return or onward ticket is held, and they check into the US government ESTA website prior to departure to register.

So, in answer to your question, having the ESTA is sufficient!

    Happy travels!

  4. Hi everyone. I can see both sides of this discussion. I have sailed Allure 3 times and Ken has been the CD all 3 times (missed Allan Brooks by a week or so on the last 2 sailings)! The first 2 times I found Ken funny, witty and his presence was clearly 'there' all the time. I have to admit that by my 3rd cruise, Ken began to wear a little thin. I think it is because he does/says the same thing week in, week out - not his fault, it is his job - so just my opinion of hearing the same things for the 3rd time!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some people on here love certain CD but others just don't like their style. Heck, if we all thought the same, life would be so boring!

  5. I find it amusing that there is such drama over a propulsion blade. The issue has been there for approximately 4 weeks now and aside from 1 hour less is Nassau, there has been no other disruption to guests which I think is fantastic. They are working at every opportunity to get it fixed and I am sure all will be sorted soon. I agree with the comments regarding the time in Nassau. I have visited there twice on Allure. On my first trip I did the Blue Lagoon Island. We had a lovely boat ride there and back and plenty of time for lunch and sunbathing. On my second trip I did the See and Sea tour. I was back on the ship well before the 1.30pm (as it was on my cruise) all aboard time. It is hardly a huge port and it isn't as though there is enough to do to keep people amused all day. Hoping it is all sorted soon :)
