Very helpful thread! We are considering an eastbound and I hoped it would be enough to ease us into the new time zone.

That looks like a terrific meal! It is so interesting and satisfying to try local foods.

I hear ya. That said, I had very good service in PG on Volendam. I chose the banquette side of the table, rather than face the wall. When the waiter removed the other place setting, he rearranged the vase, candle, and salt and pepper to fill some of that space so it didn't look, well for want of a better word, so it didn't look lonely. I thought that was a kind gesture. 

That waiter is a class act! I've had a similar experience in the MDR. It just makes for a more pleasant meal.

Wow, it seems almost sacrilegious- Burger King, Popeyes, Subway, surrounded by all the antiquities nearby! Interesting photos. Did you have a chance to sample some real local food?

it is so nice to hear about your experience! Aside from a few crass passengers, (there are always some), it sounds like a good cruise!

Thanks for the review. We also enjoyed the layout of the Jade, the larger ships just don't hold the same attraction for us. We also liked Le Bistro the best of all the specialty dining venues.

You have had many very enjoyable NCL cruises in the past, so it is quite understandable that you stayed with them, and will try some of their other ships.

yes, some people who have never tried cruising have weird notions about being trapped inside with nowhere to go and nothing to do..! oh well, their loss!

Don’t call her Mrs.

Don’t serve hair in her food

Make her Painkillers correctly 

Serve tasty food in a timely manner

Clean the bathroom

Fix the toilet

Provide services that were paid for

Listen to customers' requests

We haven't been on NCL since 2018. We have been on HAL several times since then, and while certainly not perfect, their staff are wonderful, the food is good, and the beds are comfortable! (although no separate bedrooms). Might be another option for you, and they are great in Alaska.

Those cocktail party treats look so nice and inviting- the chefs did a great job!

Given the other jokes Ian made, I wouldn't be worried at all. Schtick perhaps, but at least he is entertaining!

I do remember them naming Flame and Sizzle, and we saw a mother and calf at one point. I forget the other names but it is interesting how they can identify them so quickly!
